    • I cant find australia on there

    • I'm asking them right now, will report back with the response :)

      • They aren't currently, the offer did only start ~12 hours ago so perhaps it's just a matter of time.

Perhaps other stores will price-match? JW has the new offer listed, but it does seem that the majority haven't updated the offer/aren't getting it.

Also, Calisto is Steam. DI2 is Epic for anyone who was wondering.

I've enquired to JW if there offer is correct, will update again when I get a response.

Got my 6950XT from the Amazon deal last week, so far no concerns switching from Nvidia for the first time in a decade, this looks like a good price.

  • +1

I upgraded from a 1660ti to an RX6600 a month ago for $309, very happy with the switch.

If you tweak the settings you can get 1440p 60fps easily, and the driver based upscaler will do a decent 1440 to 4k job.

The only game I couldn't run at 1440p 60fps was red dead redemption 2 and cyberpunk

Compromises. That’s why consumers should stick to nvidia.

      • +4

WTF bro you have to be trolling at this point.

NVIDIA is good if as cheap as AMD for same performance. If AMD is way cheaper for same performance, it's dumb to not consider AMD.

      • +2

A $300 nvidia card would perform FAR worse than the RX6600, and the user would have to compromise a lot more.

        • +1

Facts. A new 1660ti would still cost $300+ right now, and I had to play on 900p on some titles

        • -2

There’s no compromise with nvidia. The specs are known, so one should not expect more.

          Nvidia = stability.

There’s no such equivalency with AMD.

@JeBs: You must have a day off work.

I had a 6600 non-xt for the longest time before another upgrade, bought at the peak. It was perfect for 1440p 60fps with some tweaks (ASUS model) and was very happy with the stability & quiet fans. FSR is pretty great as well, although can be grainy for some. Experience checks out.

Is this card okay for non serious gaming, farm simulator, ets 2, civ 6. I currently have Intel 6700k cpu with integrated graphics HD530? Will i see any improvements?

    • -6

I would say stick with nvidia. AMD is reported to have stability issues with various games. It’s a lottery, and I won’t take the chance personally.

But if it’s about money only, then stick with nvidia again. Just wait for a better deal.

Pointless spending on a product that can cause you down time.

Run a web search and you’ll see I’m telling the truth.

Can't agree with your claims of instability with AMD cards, being a proud AMD owner for years now. But I think researching GPU instability is a great idea because you'll find that AMD cards are fine while flagship NVIDIA cards are literally catching fire :P

        please stop spreading disinformation.

Nvidia has double the failure rate of amd.

If you would run a web search, or even listen to any of the reasonable people here, you would see you are wrong. I have told you multiple times about the QA study. Which you are either intentionally ignoring or are too stupid to manage a google search. So i'll provide the direct link here:
        https://www.amd.com/system/files/documents/graphics-driver-q…

93% pass rate for amd and 82% for nvidia.

and if you look at only what I would say were the most common cards for each: the 560 and 580 for AMD and the 1050 and 1060 for nvidia. You will see that nvidia again has more fails, 13 compared to amd's 2.

So you are just blatently lying at this point. There are plenty of things to shit on amd for and plenty of things to praise nvidia for (and vice versa (not that you would care). but stability is not one of the things. If anything it's in amd's favour

So stop being a lying fanboy.

    • Perhaps check the system requirements of the games you are interested in to see what the developers say.

I would say they will probably be fine and the GPU would probably exceed their requirements, but it's not much work to check. Just off the top of my head, games like CIV tend to be more CPU demanding than graphics intensive.

The other thing to consider is what resolution you are currently playing at, what resolution you think you will play at in the next few years, what settings you want etc. As well as whether you just want something that gives you a good result now or whether you want something with a bit of upside. I.e. I have a 1440p monitor with high refresh rate, but a card that doesn't give actually give me high frames in the games I want. Probably should've gotten a faster card. Ooops.

      …this card okay?
      Any improvements over 530?

Yes. Massive improvements, and no problems playing those games (or any game. More expensive GPUs are for higher framerates or higher res, there's no games they can play that this can't).

If you want an Nvidia card and you have eBay plus then there is 1 stock left of a supposedly brand new Dell OEM RTX 3060 Ti that can be had for $450 with the coupon https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/735101
I decided to gamble on it and ordered one yesterday night, fingers crossed its not a POS but the Youtube teardown of it made it look like its actually a decent card.

  • This is out of stock. An Asus 6600 has become available at $299 here: https://www.jw.com.au/asus-dual-rx-6600-8g-graphics-card-542…

    • out of stock and back upto 400

  • Back in stock

  • was going to buy but the price gone up by $20 😥
