Be careful you haven't CLOSED an account within 12 mths or 0 points.

    • what about a savings account?

      • Existing Westpac customers who currently hold an Earth Classic, Earth Platinum, Earth Platinum Plus, Earth Black, Altitude Classic, Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black credit card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer.

  • This or velocity flyer card with 100k point? Higher fees though.

    • Isn't it 90k Velocity?

Is 70,000 velocity points convertible to $? If yes how much is it.

    • U can redeem gift cards. Roughly 1 pt =$.006. But really depends on what u redeem.

    • For example you can get a SYD to LAX one way ticket for 42000 points + $120. Works out to be around 5c per point, in some instances it can go up to 10c.

Every other banks process sh1ts on these guys. Have applied twice
Been accepted pending verification of some documents over the phone.
Then sit on hold for 2 hours to be asked if they're allowed to send me the verification email asking for more documents…
I asked why didn't you just send me the email rather than wasting my time on hold. They couldn't provide a response.

    Waste of time.

ANZ will see that bet and raise … They called & sent emails 3 times asking for different info each time. I duly supplied the info each time, then heard nothing for 2 weeks. Suddenly a letter shows up saying my application has been cancelled because I did not respond to their requests! 2 days later I get an email saying the card has been approved!!

I seem to have my best experience with ANZ.
Admittedly i've been a lifelong customer and get auto-approved within minutes.

Seconded. Westpac is the worst organisation I've dealt with for credit cards, and I churn several times a year.

  • Can someone clarify if this scenario can be used to meet the minimum spending requirement? Can i send money to myself via paypal using the credit card as payment and then withdraw the money from paypal to bank acc?
