Spotify Brazil 12 Months Family Plan R$300 (~A$94.77) (VPN Required to Sign Up) @ G2A Gift Card

741

This deal is similar to HamBoi69's from a week or so ago but following the steps below means you only need to pay R$300 (A$94.77 via gift cards) rather than $157.67.

I am unsure whether it is normal, but the R$100 gift cards I redeemed each converted to 6 months premium single, and 18 months converted to 12 months premium family. This means rather than being R$418.90, a year is only R$300 (~A$94.77)

Step 1: Cancel your existing premium subscription to Spotify and wait for the billing period to end, or create a free account if you don't have one
Step 2: Buy 3 x R$100 Spotify gift cards from here. When redeemed from this specific seller (Wtrades), they showed up as '6 months' each, which convert to 4 months family each (from following the below steps).
Step 3: Turn on a VPN and set location to Brazil.
Step 4: Go to your 'account' here and click 'Edit Profile', an option to set your country to 'Brazil' should appear (this is greyed out if you have an active premium subscription). Save your changes.
Step 5: Click Redeem and paste your gift card code that you previously purchased in Step 2. You will see that the confirmation message will mention '6 months premium' being redeemed. Repeat this step three times, then confirm you have redeemed the three codes (R$300) here. If you attempt to redeem more than 3 of these codes, you will get an error stating that you cannot redeem more than 18 months of premium in advance.
Step 6: Go to "Planos disponíveis". Under 'Assinar', press the down arrow next to 'Assassinatura mensal'. This is the monthly family subscription and it should say R$34.90/month (It's easier to understand if you ask your browser to translate to English).
Step 7: You should now see a summary of the subscription type you've selected with the date of next payment. Confirm that this is 1 year from today (or thereabouts).
Step 8: Beneath the summary, you'll see a payment gateway show up with some Brazilian payment options. Look beneath them and you will see an option called 'Mudar pais' in the footer. Click on it. Choose Australia from the list, so that your account is still Australian after the sign-up process.
Step 9: Choose PayPal as the payment method and follow the prompts to finalise. Your PayPal won't be charged until the date stated in the summary.
Step 10: After confirming, choose your normal Australian address for the premium family as you normally would, and tell your 'family' members to do the same.
Step 11:
Step 12: profit???

  • I just tried this and after changing my country back to Aus it says - "Your next bill is for $18.99 on 10/3/23." so I think I've been charged Australian pricing..

    • Don't think you're meant to change your country (in your profile) back to Australia. Just for the payment(/ backup payment). Also the $R300 could very well be a bug in the system and they might now be on to it. I believe their charge for family plan is $R39/month but no where did i read it to be $R300/year. I could be wrong though

    • Sorry for late reply to this. That message is correct, by changing the country in the last step, you have an Australian account. Just cancel the active sub now or towards the end of the year and repeat the steps again. The point is you’re being billed in a year but only paid $95 😊

  • Your account has been blocked due to violation of our rules and policies. We're sorry but this decision cannot be changed and your account will not be reinstated.

I have no idea why this would be the case for my account. Is there another way to get these gift cards?

    • Is that your spotify account?

  • Help! When I try to change my country from Australia to Brazil, I only get two options: Australia and UAE. I have my VPN set to Brazil, so I really don't understand what is the problem. I have tried using Chrom and Firefox browsers, both in incognito mode. No good.

Does anyone have any advice for me? I would really appreciate it.

    • +1

Which vpn is this? Try a different one perhaps?

      • Thank you for your input.

I don't believe the issue is the VPN but how Spotify locates accounts. I'm thinking US based accounts might have more access to other countries. With my Australia based account, I can only relocate to some territories but not others and South America is not available. That's what's really weird about this.

I'll keep trying to find a work-around and then switch to another VPN if I'm still having no luck.

  • Is this still working? Has anyone tried?

  • Confirming this still works, completed just now.
1 issue i did have, i couldn't select family plan using the op's info, i had to first select individual premium (renew) until it brought me to the payment summary.
From there changed the country at the bottom of the page to Australia, then scroll back to the top and click change plan, doing this you will notice it changes from spotify.com/br/ to spotify.com/au/ in the web address.
(Keep the vpn on at this point)
Then choose family plan, the new summary page will load and say next payment will be AUD$18.99 but in 1 year.
Choose your payment method snd finalise payment (you dont get charged)
When selecting your address, disconnect vpn, now enter your australian address, now invite family with this address.
If you look in edit profile your country has now automatically changed back to Australia

    • Following this worked for me today - thanks!

  • After failing to do the Türkiye one I went to this one - thank you very much!!!

  • It seems the R$100 gift card now converts to 3 months of family, so R$300 will cover 9 months only.

    • It also appears they've applied this retrospectively - I just got the boot from Premium Family and it's been around 9 months.

  • Suggestions for renewal? Will it auto renew at the Brazilian price?

  • Confirming this still works April 2024. Redeemed for approx 11 months of Spotify Duo at $105.

  • I had set up 3 of the R$100 gift cards back in November 2023 but today I got the below email from Spotify. Have they somehow changed my Brazil subscription to an Australian one? If so, how do I find out? Am I going to be charged $23.99 through PayPal in May? Is there any way to change it back to Brazil pricing?

The price of Premium Family is changing from A$20.99/month to A$23.99/month.

We’re increasing the price of Premium Family so that we can continue to invest in and innovate on our product offerings and features, and bring you the best experience.

Since you’re already a Premium subscriber, you will pay A$20.99/month until your billing date in May when your subscription will go up to the new price.*

Thanks for being a fan of Premium.
