are you certain gift cards aren't excluded? You are taken to a popup window for that kind of transaction, which is directed to giftvouchers.com. not good guys site

    • +1

lol, what idiot negged me. I'm quite certain i'm right as you are buying the gift cards from giftvouchers.com site and not good guys. go ahead and try it if you want. you just won't get the $50 store credit. then don't come complaining

    • +3

Hmmm yeah…not clear on this either:

"Gift Voucher Service powered by giftvouchers.com owned and operated by Wright Express"

  • iPad anyone?
i was thinking of buying the giftcard first and waiting for a price drop in August.

    • You have to wait for a new iPad before you can see a big price drop.

  • under the terms and conditions it doesn't mention gift cards are excluded. also it states "To be eligible customers must make an online purchase at www.thegoodguys.com.au of $200 or more in one" - if the link to the third party payment engine for gift cards is on the home page - isn't that "make a purchase at www.thegoodguys.com.au"?????

    am i missing something???

it's not on the home page, it direct you to a different site with a different address entirely. In other words, you're not buying from the Good Guys

buy $200 gift card + receive $50 store credit = 20% overall discount

    25% off?[o]

    • +1

      50 / (50+200) = 0.2 = 20%

    • -1

      Thats correct, 25%

      • +1

you don't know how to do math? You pay $200 for a total of $250 value so that is 20% off.

        • -6

          Uhhh … Fail maths? 25% of 200 = 50
250/200 = 1.25 or per $1 you pay, you get $1.25 in credit + gift card

        • +1

how does your math show 25% off, I'm starting to get pissed off already. If you don't know how to do math you should go back to school to re-do your math subject.

          1. It is $50 off $250.
          2. 250/200 which means 200/250 = 0.8 or 80%. You only pay 80% of what you bought so it means you got 20% off.
        • I didn't say anything about "off" neither does the deal.

          Its 25% value added….

        • +2

this deal is not about a percentage gain or discount. It's just a $50 dollar bonus if you spend $200 or above. Regardless of spending $200 or $749.95 it will still only be $50 bonus. $200 just happens to be the minimum

      • We need mandatory remedial math classes before signing onto this site :)

Max discount is $50 from a total spend of $250 ($200 initial spend + $50 gift card spend).

        That's a total overall discount of $50/$250

        = 20%

        • I agree. It states you get a $50 gift card if you purchase $200 and above. First, its added value as mentioned above. If you spend $1000 you still get $50 gift card. Best case is you spend $200 and you get a free $50 gift card. $50 is 25% added value of the $200 you spent. It should not be considered as a discount. Goodness sake, to be negged for trying.

    • Nearly all promotions include this now.

  • btw, how do I claim for the $50 Store credit? Will it be automatically emailed to me on 27/6?

  • +1

Don't forget the $4.95 delivery cost for the gift card

    • yah, that makes it less than 20% off, it is 18.02% to be precise ($204.95 for face value of $250)

      • so you guys bought it? good luck

  • Did anyone else do this and receive their $50 credit. I bought a $200 gift card which I received on Wednesday but nothing about $50 credit ???

    • -1

Duh, did you not read my comments. It was obvious gift cards weren't eligible because they are bought from another website

      • If they are not excluded from T&C then we should get it, btw Gift Cards link is from GG site so we should escalate this and follow it up with them because this is clearly misleading if they don't give me my $50.

        • Its not misleading at all. You are buying from a site with a different URL. Can't say you weren't warned. I tried (it was the first post) and got negged for it.

          Can't say I'm not highly amused…
