  • can I buy these Myer gift cards to buy other gift cards?

    • +3

“Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase on the eBay Myer Store or to purchase Gift Cards or other tender.”

    • Nah

    • +2

Yes but only if the staff is your mate

They have to manually override / approve

At the same time they will probably get in trouble with management later on

    What does

    15% Bonus Value

mean exactly? How does this work?

    EDIT: Nvm found the mechanics:

Receive 15% extra value when you buy Myer gift cards in-store at Coles between 22 Jan and 28 Jan 2025. 15% bonus value works out to be 13.04% off.

    Here are the details:

Runs from Wed 22 Jan to Tue 28 Jan 2025
    Only available in-store at Coles
Limit of five gift cards per customer
If you buy a $100 Myer gift card, for example, you’ll pay $100 for it but $115 will be loaded onto the gift card. Myer gift cards are available at Coles in $50, $100 and $200 >denominations.

Myer gift cards are not to be confused with Coles Group & Myer gift cards. The gift cards in this offer can only be used at Myer.

  • Damn. I still have my $500 plus $50 bonus from the Christmas deal to burn through. Worse still is that I need to burn the $50 bonus one before end of March.

    • +8

They have a massive stocktake sale on right now. If you can't find anything to buy, it's kind of your own fault for dropping half a g

    • +1

Buy something expensive for $550, and return it onto a new Myer gift card?

      • +1

Receive Returns Card. Valid for 3 years when did that previously.

  • +2

Hmm, a marginal discount on an overpriced shop that I would never go to other than when I desperately need a new funeral/wedding/interview suit every 15 years..

    • +4

Depends what you’re into, plenty of decent concession stores in Myer. So this would be an extra 15% off.

    • You know you only have about 4 'every 15 years' as an adult?

  • +1

Likely effect of falling Myer share price partly due to downturn in customer spending.

  • Is there anything to buy at Myer for the typical ozbargainer?

    • +4

      They sell Lego

      • With only the occasional deal. Often, 15% doesn't even get them to the same price as Big W's everyday price.

        • +1

Yeah, that is the usual story, but sometimes they have 40-50% off for clearance lego, got to be quick though, search OzB for recent examples if you want.

        • That's what price matching is for

        • +2

There are some sets that only Myer and Lego sell (and speciality retailers), like the Modular building series. These sometimes get discounted to 20%! off.

  • Arent you better off waiting for the 15%/20% shopback promos that come up every so often.

    • Depends what you're after, eg Toys (Lego) is often a max 10% off even with those offers. Also there's always a chance a shop back offer won't track properly.

    • +3

      Maybe, maybe not. For example:

      • There are no guarantees ShopBack will always approve cashback transactions for Myer. I just had a look at the most recent ShopBack deal for Myer and there are a handful of people complaining about their cashback transactions for Myer being declined and they do not understand why.

      • Some brands (e.g. Chanel, Dior, Aesop) are permanently excluded from cashback transactions. However, Myer will still let you use Myer gift cards to purchase those items.

      • I'm platinum with Myer. I just went through my Shopback tracking history, and everything is confirmed or still tracking correctly. The only issue I have ever has was recently with the bank bonus not tracking the correct amount - a shopback issue, not Myer.

    • No, because the cashback promos are time limited. The cards can be used any time.

Wait for a good deal at Myer, and then stack it with the gift card.

  • +1

Serious question - Does Myers actually sell anything other than overpriced clothing and a very narrow range of whitegoods?

I went in there a while back and it was practically a ghost town in terms of customers and anything people might actually buy.

    • They do decent deals for Lego on clearance, got a bunch of Mario series sets for 30-50% RRP.

  • Yes, planning to buy Vitamix A3500i blender eventually.

    • same, but it seems sold out now, sad

  • does the gift cards cover playstation store gift cards???

    • +1

The only gift cards covered in this deal are Myer gift cards. Myer gift cards can only be redeemed in-store or online at Myer.

Myer does not sell PlayStation Store gift cards.

  • Does this count towards $50 spend? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/889121

    • +1

      No.

$50 transaction excludes purchases of all gift cards, iTunes cards, charity items/donations, tobacco and tobacco-related products, Coles Best Buys online exclusive products and online delivery fees.

  • What denominations are available?

    • +2

      $50, $100, $200

      • +1

Thanks. Google was not yielding results.

  • can I use more than one giftcard in one transaction on myer online?

  • Excellent find thank you

  • Everything in Myers is already 15 to 20% more

  • +2

Perfect for anyone wanting to purchase Chanel perfume and colognes as it’s the only way you’ll ever get a discount.

  • +1

Does anyone know if these can be used at concession stands in myer, (e.g mecca inside myer)? Thanks!

  • Team, would I be able to buy a bunch of gift cards and purchase this https://www.myer.com.au/p/breville-the-dual-boiler-coffee-ma…?

    • +1

There is nothing in the Myer gift card terms and conditions that specifically says you cannot use it to purchase a coffee machine or Breville items. Keep in mind the following though:

      • In-store: I am not sure if there is a limit on the number of gift cards you redeem in one transaction. I once redeemed 14 gift cards in one transaction, and I think the OzBargain record is 28. Remember to tell the staff member the exact amount you redeem from each gift card, as the staff member will not be able to tell whether your gift card with $200 written on the back has $200 or $230 loaded on it (for example).

      • Online: it looks like you can only redeem a maximum of 9 gift cards in one transaction, so you will need to be mindful of the denominations you purchase through this deal. For example, if you only purchase $50 and/or $100 denominations, you will not be able to cover the full cost of the coffee machine using gift cards.

      • +1

        Thanks Wooks, legend.

      • They are able to tell how much is on a gift card. The staff member didn't believe me when I said there was $230 on a card labeled $200 and said he'll check before putting the transaction through. He confirmed the amount then processed the part payment via gift card.

  • cannot find any Myers card in my local Coles.
Can anyone tell where can I find some?

    • My local coles has all denomination ones still, you could try another Coles. I went to one in the Melbourne CBD the other day and I got the last $100 they had, they only had $200 cards left, so some have probably sold out.

  • Anyone know if these get restocked? Tried a couple of Coles on Sunday and Monday and both out of stock. Not sure whether to go back or try another one.

    • From previous promos, I haven't seen them get restocked during the promo.
