    • Or Asian and New Zealand. :)

      • @SimsDirect - I'd be interested too for a NZ sim deal.

        • just grab a kogan starter pack. 5 bucks for 15 gbs

    • +1

      Hey @ezym0ney6 @prankster @yolow

No deals currently live for other SIMs.

We will be doing a storewide Black Friday sale, so be sure to stop by! πŸ€™

      -Aidan

      • for sure! thanks Rep!

        • πŸ‘

  • Is the 30 day eSim 10gb for 30 days? Or 10gb per day for 30 days?

    • 10GB in total

    • Hey @itzSTARSCREAM

      It's 10GB total for 30 days.

Let me know if you have any further questions! 😌

      -Aidan

  • So I can get a sim and use it in singapore, malaysia and japan on a single sim?

    • Hey @AH

      Yep, you sure can!

The 15-day Japan SIM is Japan only though.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aiden,
Love your sim cards (and your service). They always are no fuss and so easy.

Can you please confirm if a discount for buying mutliple sims stacks with this sale? The mutli sim code doesnt seem to work. I was looking to purchase 4.

    Thanks very much

    • Hey @Howdydoo

Thanks for your kind words and glad to have you back! ❀️

Discount codes are not stackable, unfortunately!

      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aidan!

        • πŸ‘

  • Have a large family trip heading to Japan next year, so certainly going to be sharing this around to everyone.

How come the 6GB/15day SIM needs to be activated by the end of January, but the 10gb/30day one is valid until the end of '23?

    • +1

      Hey @add-delay

Perfect, glad we can help the fam out πŸ™Œ

It's old stock that expires soon (hence the further discount). The other SIMs are newer stock.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

      -Aidan

      • Ah, gotcha, that makes sense!

  • is it possible to get a phone number in japan

    • +1

i don’t think you can if you’re travelling as a temporary visitor (tourist) to my knowledge. they require you to have a residential address to have the japanese phone number

    • Answer is: Yes, you can get Japanese number for voice calls

    • Hey @LegitBox

Not with these SIM cards as they are Data-only.

      -Aidan

  • Any idea whether the physical SIMs will work when inserted into a mobile 4G hotspot from Aus (GSM) - like an unlocked Telstra 4GX Mobile broadband hotspot?

    • Hey @alect

As long as it is unlocked, you should be fine. πŸ‘
      -Aidan

      • it's unlocked but does it need to support certain CDMA/GSM bands to work in Japan. modern mobile phones support multiple network types and bands but not sure about hotspots.

  • +1

What can you do with 6GB in 15 days in year 2022?
Pay a bit more get the one from Klook unlimited data.

    • Enough for maps, basic searching etc. You don't intend to be streaming HD content all day long while in Japan right?

    • I have a 60gb 365 day prepaid account and I never use all of it. Not everyone is a heavy data user.

      • Agreed I’ve got a 130gb Pre paid and I’ve only used 9.5gb over 2 months so I think 6gb for 15 days should be suffice. Like Itwo said you only will use it for maps and basic searching when overseas, you not going to be YouTubing or watching Netflix and if you did you’d do it at the hotel

    • Agree. If you take lots of photos and accidently leave your cloud synchronisation on you'll burn through 6GB

      • Yep, we recommend turning sync off to preserve data πŸ‘

        -Aidan

    • It's 2022 why would I waste my time needing to pickup a sim card at two specific airports?

      • it’s up to you, you can waste time checking how much data you have used daily, to ensure you don’t run out of data for your last couple of days so you don’t get lost in a foreign country.

Pickup locations are just on our way out of airports anyway.

Again if a small bowl of rice is sufficient for you on a daily basis it’s fine. But I prefer all you can eat buffet.

        • I prefer not wasting my overseas trips drowning my head in digital noise.

But if for some reason 10gb in two weeks isn't enough, I just use the free WIFI that comes in almost any Airbnb place you rent to upload bulk cloud storage which I run overnight. In reality that's rare because all my gear is expandable via SD card back up.

Also we're not all landing in Tokyo/Osaka or when those pick-up kiosk windows are open.

Anyway, not after a bowl of rice or buffet. Just the flexibility to travel my way thanks.

Just got back from Japan. I used your East Asia SIM and it worked great. Would use again.

    • How was the Japan trip? :)

      • Excellent. Plenty of eating and drinking and a favorable exchange rate!

        • yes its interesting how the exchange rate to yen is not bad, above 90's yet our dollar is crap against the USA.

travel to japan is more appealing than states

    • Hey @beerpara

Glad to hear it worked smoothly for you πŸ€™

Hi if this works in Macau does this work in Hong Kong?

    • Hey @Ladideeda

      -Aidan

  • I am headed to Canada and Mexico soon - I saw the SIM card for USA/Canada/Mexico but its a bit pricy - anything coming through there soon?

    • You can get free roaming on esim in USA
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/723026

      • Sadly not going to the US and looks like it won't include Canada or Mexico

  • Have tickets to Japan in December but wondering if we will actually be able to go with the QANTAS strikes.

      Hey @Phoebus

      Fingers crossed! 🀞

You can always return the SIMs for a full refund if your trip gets cancelled.

      -Aidan

  • Just checked the EU sims… Are the e-sims coming soon for them as well?

    I won't be here on B-Friday (if you know what I mean :D )

    • Hey @ModiWar

We do have EU eSIMs on the way. I can't give you ane exact ETA as there is a lot of backend stuff we need to do before we can sell them on our site.

Definitely keep an eye on the site though!

      -Aidan

  • Good timing, just picked up the 30 day 10GB, cheers!

  • Bought 2 esims. No QR code has come through?

      -Aidan

  • i've heard about pocket wifi in japan is really popular, is that preferred for any reason or would these sims do perfectly fine

    • People like carrying a brick around with them.

I think they do it to tether, personally I like the flexibility of having my own sim so there is no issue if I go my own way at any time.

  • What am I missing? Are that many people travelling to Japan/Asia? If you are congrats but I'm just looking at the up votes and the fact it has to be used in Asia/Japan and wondering what I am missing? Not being salty just…

    • +1

Of course this time of year is popular for Japan ski holidays.

  • What network does the esim use in Japan? How would you rate their coverage?

What options are there for more than 10gb?

    • Hey @downhillmtbr

The eSIM uses Softbank network. Softbank covers 98.8% of Japan and is the second leading carrier behind Docomo (in terms of coverage).

We do not have anything more than 10GB unfortunately!

      -Aidan

Will the 30 day eSim be back in stock anytime soon?

    • Yes, I would also like to know this one please. I just tried to purchase but it's sold out.

        • πŸ‘

  • What if I ran out of data and need more?

    • Hey @froddoog

These SIMs cannot be topped up so you will need to buy multiple and swap them out as you go.

Let me know if you have any further questions πŸ‘

      -Aidan

  • wait, isn't it cheaper to get it locally over there?

    • Hey @froddoog

There are a variety of SIMs you can buy in vending machines at the airport but I am unsure of the price comparison vs our SIMs.

      -Aidan

  • any discs for NZ op?

    • Hey @RichDad PoorSon

Nothing currently but we will be having a Black Friday sale!

      -Aidan

      • thanks op, bought one and a couple for Jpn for next yr. Hopefully it'll get delivered on time as heading to NZ on Friday next week :)

  • Hi Aiden,

Hoping you can help clarify whether the Japan 6gb eSim option also works in Indonesia/Bali.

We will be travelling to both Indonesia and Japan over the next 6 months and if it does indeed work in Indonesia we will order go ahead and put in an order for 4.

    Cheers

    • +1

      Hey @JazzT

      Yes it does!

Let me know if you have any further questions πŸ™‚

      -Aidan

      • Thank You Aidan

  • I just bought a couple of eSims 30 day. Can I confirm - do I need to install the eSim in Australia? (Ie. Before I depart). Going on holidays for 32 days, therefore would like to activate on the third day (which I’ll be in Singapore).

    • Hey @luong

You can activate the SIM whenever you like. It will activate on the first network connection, so I would suggest just holding onto the email+ QR code until it comes time for you to want to use it on the third day.

      -Aidan

  • Hi,
Just for clarity sake, if the expiry for the 15 day 6gb sim is 31/01, and I activate it on 31/01 what day will the plan last until? Im guessing the 14th of Feb?

    Thanks

    • +1

      Hey @cchhiillyy

The day you activate counts as day 1, so the expiry will be on the 14th of Feb.

Just also want to be clear the SIM needs to be active before 31/01/2022.

      -Aidan

      • Ah ok thank you for the info!

As per the last day of expiry, would it still work on that date? For example following the example above would it work on the 14th?

So the last day to activate would be the 30/01/2022.

        Thanks

  • Ubigi only charge $US 4 for 3GB, anyone used before and any difference?
