  • I recently went boost then returned immediately reception has gone to crap now Telstra has taken ownership in December

    • I noticed the same too . Can't get any signal inside IKEA Springvale and some other popular places…. When my plan is over, I'm moving on too.

      • +1

IKEA Springvale has always been a blackspot

    • Yep I've noticed the same

    • I'm due for a renewal and have noticed the drop in reception, especially inside shopping malls. Currently sitting inside IKEA perth and I've got zero bars or reception.
Only thing keeping me on boost is the multimedia voicemail on android. If any other network provides it, I'll jump ship immediately.

      • Yeah my view is that the frequency they use is not as strong. Funny thing as there must be lots of people complaining so they wrote a blog about it, but i think just covering themselves, but it's a bit misleading https://www.telstra.com.au/exchange/signal-bars-explained

FYI im on Vodafone 5G directly not TPG and i've had the best reception in a long time. Also remember Optus and Vodafone are going to be sharing towers in regional from Feb i believe so its a no brainer.

        • I'm on Optus for a month before I port to Boost and its much better. It used to not be like that.

  • Was going to move back to Boost from Telstra prepaid…
Can you move from Telstra to Boost anyway?

    • +1

      Yes

At approx $21/mth is it not more worth it to get on a plan ?

    • Which plans has 20GB/month and unlimited international standard calls & text to 20 selected destinations for a lower price?

      • -2

        Coles mobile (Optus MVNO)

  • I have joined up with this because eBay - I don't have Plus at the moment and none of the codes work.

Also, I tried joining Telstra - it was an absolute nightmare. Weeks and hours of calls and text messages to the Philippines, escalated to complaints team…. there was something with my account and they could never successfully port my number. Total sh*tshow repeating my info time and again, talking to absolute morons…. lost all faith in Telstra being any better service than … I dunno, take your pick - Qantas, Kogan, the dodgy builders on A Current Affair, or those ISPs that keep you contracted for 30 extra days unless you send a letter in writing…. take your pick.

Eventually got Telstra to refund by bank account $265 for the long expiry SIM I bought on eBay.

Yes Boost is owned by Telstra now but I've been with them before and never had porting issues.

    • Whenever you talk to someone at Telstra ask for their delta number. This is their id, so if you need to follow anything up you can tell them who you spoke to.
Going to the Telecommunication ombudsman is also a good threat - https://www.tio.com.au

  • There is no prepaid sim around 10-15GB/year in this #$$%^& country?

    • Konec 365 Day Wearable Plan
      24GB data
      $110

      • Thanks but Kogan sells 140GB for $119, even it was about $100. $110 for 24GB well beyond reasonable and even wearable.

        • Depends on network.

  • New customers only?

  • Yes only new

  • So is this the best $/month we can get on Telstra network now after they deleted the 160gb option? Sad…
