No.
But they have labels and badges they can stick on things.
I'm pretty sure they don't even do that, they have a trade name that they can sell to other Chinese companies so the Chinese company can stick stickers on their cheap stock.
Are there any Chinese brands that make TVs matching the quality of Japanese and Korean brands?
They used to. Remember VHS Player and TV back in 1992. Not sure about nowadays
Hisense now made Toshiba
https://www.applianceretailer.com.au/hisense-launches-toshib…
Hisense launches Toshiba TVs into Australian market
Hisense purchased the Toshiba Visual Solutions Corporation and license to use the Toshiba brand for TVs in 2017 in a deal worth A$150 million.
So Hisense put Google TV on this but that VIDAA crap on their own branded TVs. What were they thinking?
FYI, the Toshiba brand is just that. A brand. A recognisable name on a cheapo TV.
Toshiba TV brand owned/made by Hisense.
There's also the Android version, how they do compare? https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/toshiba-55-inches-c350k-serie…
I always prefer a dumb TV. They're faster to turn on, change channels, do menu stuff and if you do get a smart TV it's smart functions will usually be worse than a $50 Chromecast/Firestick. It the smart function also can't be replaced/upgraded, unlike the Chromecast/Firestick.
No idea if this applies to this specific TV as I've never touched either but it generally holds true.
Google TV is the new version of Android TV. Still android based, but a new UI better suited to a TV. I don't think there's any advantage to going for the old OS unless you have a specific case for it.
Pretty average reviews
Can anyone recommend a good cheap 50”+ tv to put outdoor? Thanks
Toshiba C350L ;)

Perfect for the outdoors. Not too cheap, esp. including shipping, so might be a nope.
Search past posts as it's been asked before.
Just keep looking on here. You'll find a last year's model TCL/Hisense cheap.
What's are good alternative OLED compared to LG with VRR 120hz?
Samsung S95B
That's more expensive then a C2 no?
yes it is, your question did not specify a budget but it could be had for a similar price of the C2 few weeks ago
What's your budget? If you have the money, just get the C2.
< 1800
I bought the 55" model sight unseen for my mum based on that people said they were just hisense rebranded. The pic is the worst I've seen and now I've gone straight to number 3.
They lied. Hisense is attempting to be way better than these cheapo TVs.
I have this https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/tcl-43-inches-4k-qled-google-…
Bought for $500 and bloody hell is inbuilt google TV slow… usable but very slow.
Is it this years one (the 735)? I heard the 725 was slow but the 735 is a big improvement?
what about over the air channel switch, also slow?
Don't use over the air. Just google tv sometimes it'll respond instantly with a press of the remote, other times the images for the icons takes a second or two to load and the press responds after a second or two.
After a super snappy 4k Firestick it is an infuriating experience.
So is this any good for just playing casually playing ps5 and watching movies on?
Can someone please recommend a cheap 65 inch please. Just want a good panel. Have a soundbar and CCWGTV.
The TCL C727 gets good reviews as its a QLED panel with full array local dimming. Its $1,015 atm at The Good Guys after OCT10 is applied for the 65" model, not $500 cheap but a QLED full array local dimming panel in a Samsung or Sony or LG TV would be like double the price.
thanks so much mate. I believe its last years model. I will wait for a clearance price. but good price.
Is it slow to turn on?
Depends how you set the mood
Toshiba makes TVs?
