Not a bad price for a sd680 aye

    Can you disable 5G?

    • +7

Already hardware disabled, so nothing to worry about. Add description states 4G for both 11 & 11S variants.

    • +18

Why would you want to do that?

      • +22

He doesn't want to get the virus

        • +1

And I'm really happy with the speeds I get on 4g. At least with Boost.

      • +18

        it drains the battery faster.

      • What is a valid reason for it?

        • Mainly health risks.. but yeah battery is another point for some

          • +1

@freedomofspeech: your WiFi is operating around 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz,
the 4G network that you don't have health concern is operated at 1.8Ghz

what make the 5G at 3.5Ghz risking your health?

            • @OMGJL: The tin foil wrapped around their heads makes it difficult to see. I can't see any other thing that would cause a health risk.

          • +1

            @freedomofspeech:

            health risks

            lmao wut

            no

    • SD680 doesn't come in 5G.

        …and IR Blaster ;-)

        • I see men of culture 😌

          • +3

@capslock janitor: It's pretty much the only manufacturer that's still innovating…

            …with:
            Dual-SIM,
            Dedicated MicroSD,
            3.5mm Headphone Jack,
            (and IR Blaster)

            • +1

@whyisave: If ONLY new Huawei would get unbanned from Google apps, the king would return
(their proprietary micro SD in the shape of a SIM was innovative too)
              .
Xiaomi are seemingly the indirect successor 🕺

              • @capslock janitor: i had to reluctantly buy my first Xiaomi phones (got 3 x phones in total, for other family members),
purely because of those wants: headphone jack, etc.

the last best phone experience was the ASUS Zenfone 6,
which was great (no front face camera!) but this phone didn't get an AU release

so, this Redmi Note 11 is pretty good value,
if you can put up without NFC, as it ticks the other boxes.
(also, MiUI is a battery hog)

                • +1

@whyisave: some of the headphone jack comes with FM radio tuner too !

no NFC/mobile paywave would be deal-breaker for me

my current phone huawei mate 20 has everything!
the 2 main issues experienced so far is video recording sometimes shaky, and my mobile myki/transport card doesnt work
                  :\
this wouldve my first choice https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_note_10_pro-9945.php
but couldnt find new stock of green

im willing to seek next best equivalent, but also thinking of upgrading my nano storage hehe

    • +1

Wow, amoled at this price? That's impressive.

      • +1

        Amoled and 90 Hz too.

  • do you paid in euro or aud?

  • +1

Hi OP, were did you get 5G from, add states 4G in both 11 & 11S variants under cell tech?

    • +1

      Miss typed, whoops!

      • +1

All good, I got excited also, still seems like a good deal. Thanks for the post.

This is pretty good deal, I bought two of these exact phones from eBay and Kogan (the 6GB/128GB variant) - I think both came from Hong Kong/China. Cost me approx $280 each after discounts etc.

    Pros
Great AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate (better than my OnePlus 7)
Nice design and Great Build quality
    Massive Battery
Pretty snappy for everyday usage (UFS 2.1 Storage with SD680 and 6GB RAM in the model I bought)
Dual SIM plus MicroSD card slot

    Cons
No NFC (at least for the Chinese version I bought which came with Global MIUI ROM, but looks like this one in OP is Euro model with NFC)
    No 5G (which I didn't care)
MIUI (either you will love it or hate it, plus you will need to remove some bloatware and disable some ads - pretty easy though)
Weak Camera specially in low light (usual for Budget range phones)
This specific version has 4GB RAM might not be enough for your usage or might not be future proof

Overall I would recommend this phone specially at this price - as long as you are not a Heavy User/Mainly looking for this to play games

    Great Deal OP

Cheer Bappy and thanks for the write up!

  • Do you have to buy it via the website or how do you find it in the app?
    Didn't see it searching.

    • It's German Amazon, not Australian.

      • +2

Correct, so you can't just add it to cart and use Australian prime? I would need to sign up to Austrian/ German free trial?

        • +2

          Yes German free trial

  • +1

I got PRIME already. Now I've join German Prime..?

  • seeing delivery around $37, might be worth getting 2 as the delivery goes up just a little. so just over $200 for each.

  • +1

Coming to $211 delivered or am i paying too much?

    • I don't think you're paying too much for a decent phones. People are paying $1500 for a mediocre phone with an Apple logo on it.

  • +6

64GB is fairly low after preinstalled, this price is very close to a 128GB phone.

  • +1

Pleasantly surprised to see that (at least) the UK and DE sites are again shipping to Australia.

  • +6

I like it for the most part, except the delivery, that's the wurst.

  • +5

Poco M4 Pro 8+256GB much better deal for extra $30?

Weird how the best deals for Xiaomi phones are now on Amazon not AliExpress

  • +3

Got this phone for my granddad and he's happy.

All he needs- long battery and great display, doesn't care for camera

When I set the phone up for him, realised camera is from 2010, battery life and display both great for the price.

  • +5

No official Lineage OS but plenty of other custom ROM's

  • +2

I don't think Prime makes delivery free for this so total price is about $211

    • Which is still damn good compared to the typical street price.

  • Prime not working

    • +1

      German prime

      • I have. Not work. $211.

        • $211 including postage yeah?

Or tick the voucher checkbox before adding to cart.

          • @iDroid: Did that - was still $211
Now that it's exprired, at least $169 saved.
            Win!

  • +4

Call me old fashioned but I feel 6.43” is too big for a phone, I still remember the Nexus 7 tablet.

    • +1

I still have my Nexus 7 Tablet.
Aside from an SOC and RAM update, I lament the fact that no similar devices exist today.

      • +1

They exist, but they're called smartphones now 😂

        • My current phone the s22 ultra is not far off the nexus 7 screen size.

          • @xoom: Have trouser pockets gotten deeper, though ?

            • +1

@whyisave: That im not sure but i can pocket my s22 ultra.

    • Would you buy it if it had the body of an iPhone 8 Plus (5.5" screen)?

      • I have an iPhone X which I think is a great size phone. The phone has not got much bezel so the screen to body ratio is a lot better than the old 8 Plus were and I honestly don't mind the notch at all. It's a larger screen than the 8 Plus despite being a smaller overall body.

        iPhone X Display size, resolution - 5.8-inch; 2,436x1,125 pixels
iPhone 8 Plus Display size, resolution - 5.5-inch; 1,920x1,080 pixels

        iPhone X Pixel Density - 458 ppi
iPhone 8 Plus Pixel Density - 401 ppi

        iPhone X Dimensions (Inches) - 5.7x2.79x0.30 in
iPhone 8 Plus Dimensions (Inches) - 6.24x3.07x0.30 in

Unfortunately, the majority of Android phones these days are around ~6.5 inches.

        • Steve Jobs / Apple said they would "never" make large iPhones,
but they watched the market, after Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi release large screens,
and then Apple decided to follow suit. by carefully managing each iteration.

    • +1

Remember that with aspect ratios getting wider, a 6.43" phone is likely smaller than 5.5" phones used to be.

      • Correct. This phone is nearly 15% narrower and therefore easier to hold than even the 5.3" Samsung Galaxy Note. It's just not a good way to compare phone sizes.

        • Yeah I'll give you they make them narrower these days, but when you are holding your phone trying to use the bottom navigation bar and also swipe down from the top of the screen regularly it can be kinda awkward. Stretches out your thumb a lot.

    • You're not >70 years old it seems.
