any free deal for go get membership? was thinking of car next door

    • +4

GoGet for vans etc is free. You only need to pay a membership for their other cars.

      • WHAT? I didnt know that. The reason why i dont use GoGet is the membership requirements as i only need to use a Van every year or couple of years and it didnt seem worthwhile to get a membership for that. I did get it for 1 year but realised its not worth it for me. I have my own car so only need a van.

      Roger Rogerson?

  • It was awesome when rental between 11pm and 6pm was free (only pay for kms).

Often did a night run or removal and it hardly cost anything!

Though they once charged me my excess of $500 for damage done by someone who rented it prior…..left a sour taste

    • +4

Photos not taken before commencing ?

      • It was dark.

      • Photo taken, but reported after I drove it for 15 mins already as it was short notice / in a hurry. Learnt my lesson to not trust the business and report before commencing. What I found annoying though - they claimed a GoGet employee inspected the car about 24 hours prior to my rental. Either the damage happened in those 24 hours or the damage wasn't marked (previous rental was more than 3 days before main).

If you often use GoGet like I used to, you figure out how annoying checking the car for damage / fuel / cleanliness etc is before every trip (even if you just need it for 30 mins).

Oh. Flexicar back in the day would only charge 1 hour between 11pm and 6 or 7am. Unlimited KMs, can probs blame me and my mates for that being scrapped. We'd rent it often and drive for hours allover the place. I even helped my sister shift with a van to Traralgon lol. We would easily do at least 200kms a night

Thanks, this will reduce my set hire fees.

The vans are great, it only takes 30 seconds to load the couch in and it's ready for action.

    • im on the goget student plan

  • GoGet’s customer service is absolutely atrocious, I’ve heard some pretty bad stories from people who have hired through them. I once signed up for an account and had a problem and they wanted me to jump through all these ridiculous hoops, all the while being treated like garbage by customer service. I ended up canceling my application to join them, and got a refund. Have a look at their google reviews. If you need a van go to Bunnings, it’s cheap and super easy and no dramas.

  • What is it with the 'Free 120kms'

    • the $60 gives you 120km

      • so the renting include km/petrol cost?

        • goget rent includes petrol, paid with a card in the car, and charge you per hour plus per km. If you rent a car for 1 whole day (24 hours) you get certain amount of free km (last I used it was 120km), after 120km you get charged extra. Renting a car for 2 days, you can use all the free km in 1 day (360km)

      • If I book a van for two hours, it says this:

        $32.60+ $0.40/km
Tolls, if any, will be charged +1 week after your trip has ended

How come 120km included? Can't find this

        • daily hire

  • popcar is $50 a day with 200km included

    OVERNIGHT

The booking promo code entered is not valid for this booking. Please check the promotion details and try again.

yes, that's the error I was getting. triple checked I was doing it at the correct times i.e. Mon-Fri / 7pm-10am… so when I flagged it to them, they said it had expired on 31/07/22.
After dropping those 8 magic syllables (ACL) they got the marketing team to reinstate the code.
My booking ended 10am this morning, so maybe they disabled it again (hence why I posted this, because I wanted to let ppl know this could be your last chance to use this promo)

      • 😅 nope… still works. you doing it wrong 🤣

pick a date, start time at 7:30pm, end time 9:30am the following date. should be something like $111. add OVERNIGHT into the promo code area, should come down to something like $61. and it'll mention the 120km included. Fuel is also free as there is a fuel card inside the van, although you only need to fill it up if it's below 1/4 tank.
obvs you can return it when you're done i.e. you don't have to wait until the actual end time.

    Hi All,
Just a note for those that may be having trouble using this, the promo is only valid for vans and SUVs located at an IKEA store. If you are still having issues, please reach out and we'll be happy to help. Happy travels.

    • Ah it was the IKEA store bit that was omitted. OK thanks that makes more sense why I was having issues

    • +2

Tried to test it with a couple vans/locations (IKEA Tempe and IKEA Marsden Park for Thursday night 7:30pm to 11:30pm) and still get the ‘booking no longer meets promo code criteria’ error message.
