    Note debit card did not work with St George VISA so I tried another debit (Bankwest MC) and it went through with the trade in site. If you have credit card it should be fine but if you have some debits, try other ones if they fail initially.

    Was helping out a mate trade in his iPhone x, however after his Id verification, both his first and last name was prefilled to the last name section. To proceed the website is asking for a first name (which we can't edit). I also tried trading under my name but seems his ID is liked to his IMEI. Any suggestions?

      Those fields should be editable prior to confirming they are correct. Edit too many fields and it will make you take another photo however.

    Only going to get $80 for my Pixel 4a (4G). If I use it to get the $300 coupon and don't send it in they will just charge me the $80 right? I've got a friend who will purchase it off me for $200 so I'd rather hold on to it.

      According to the FAQ, they state, if you fail to send the device you'll be charged the trade-in coupon. Not sure if by trade-in coupon they mean the device value or the bonus coupon. Also to note: they state device value as eGiftcard and the $300 as bonus coupon everywhere else. So not concrete on which it refers by "trade-in coupon"

        If you change your mind and don't use the $80 gift card, i assume they wouldn't charge you for it. Not sure about the $300 coupon though. I read some user stating you can use the $300 and ignore the trade in gift card. Anyone can reconfirm this?

        I already bought one from google and thinking of getting the second one from this deal instead. In Google Store you are limited to spending in google store and you don't get the extra 10% from Google One until 30 days.

          If you don't open it I would assume so.

          I am curious if they will honour the promotion as it is presumably credited to JB from Google for pre-orders - which is only prior to the 13th. JB made a mistake with their '16th' date and will have to pay for this promotion themselves if they choose to honour it. Technically it's not a 'pre-order' and also terms state can't be combined with other coupons - so I wouldn't rely on it being honoured.

          Not sure about the trade in. I got s10e which my father uses, it's working solid for him so was thinking to trade but not send device but everyone is saying they might charge you the $300 if you don't send the device. So I'm still thinking

    For those that are purchasing instore, I just purchased a Pixel 7
    Used trade in $300 voucher
    Used phone trade in gift card

    Ran in to a snag with the bonus free stuff (chromecast, hub and $100 gift card). There was no redemption code printed on the receipt for the store to apply the free stuff. If you preorder it, you'll get an email apparently, but this doesn't apply if purchasing instore. Bloke was calling head office to figure out what's going on. In the end, he got me to write down my details, and he'll dig more and give me a ring back later on. But from what he says, you should be getting the free stuff.

      Cashier told me it is redemable after one business day.

      Will keep the phone sealed and return tomorrow to confirm.

      Update, I went back to the store and talk to the sales reps confirming if I will get the pre-order bonus.
      Sales reps check and confirming this, resulting me to get the $100 voucher straight away.

      I suggest for you to talk to the "right" people and get a confirmation, otherwise they might claim that you are not purchasing the product under "pre-order".

    Apparently, they are blacklisting people for not sending in devices.

    I had a trade-in for Pixel 6 pro last year, bought the phone using bonus code but eventually returned due to a fault. I did not use the gift card.
    I obtained a code for Fold 4 but never used either the gift card or bonus code.

    When I attempted a transaction today, it did not go through and in the account my last order is marked as "riskified" even though I received an order closed email 4 weeks ago.

          Can do online or in-store, no limit on amount of gift cards, just keep adding to get to the value you want.

          Don't think anyone can really speak to the fake trade stuff until a week or so from now. Seems SquareTrade blacklisted people that did it last time so they can't trade in this time. Assuming they don't want people doing it you can also probably assume they will take action this time around and charge back the $300 to the credit card. Though, as I said, can't really say for sure, time will tell.

        No one seems to reply yet. Iam still waiting before I pull the trigger. At the moment, your safest bet is to buy an iphone 8 or Samsung Galaxy watch 3 on marketplace for $150 or cheaper, then trade in for $80. So you are not losing too much

          Just don't send the phone in? That's what I read a couple of pages back. But my understanding is you can either cancel the trade or use the trade in value coupon and wait for the chargeback.

          If you don't use the trade in value coupon, you will probably get charged the $300 as well. I am still waiting for confirmation.
