  • Trade in bonus is only when you trade-in a pixel device. Is that correct?

    • +2

No, any device that has a trade in value

      • Any trade value?

        • +2

Must be 1 dollar. They won't take a zero dollar device

          • @ChickenAdobo: Thanks. How does it work if you have 1 device but obviously need to move the data first?

            • @tajid: You have 7 days (sometimes more) to send it back

            • @tajid: Hmm. What device are you using? Cloud backup or someone stated that you have one week to sort it out but knowing jbhifi they are a miss with preorders

            • +1

@tajid: New devices just launched, sometimes they extend timeframe from 7 business days to 14, maybe more (not confirmed)

I know for a fact, pixel 6a trade-in offer, was extended to 14 days

              • @zb c: So you pay first & get the coupon after? And the coupon can be used for future purchases?

                • +4

                  @tajid: nope
                  i got a pixel 6a for a family member 2 months ago
                  did the following:

                  1. submit trade in details
                  2. get email with device value gift card and trade in confirmation
                  3. click link to redeem bonus coupon offer in the same email

take both device trade in gift card and bonus coupon to the checkout (or even redeem online if you want to) when purchasing

        • +2

Must be minimum $10, can be any device.

I emailed them and asked if it was phones only or anything as I have an old ipad i want to trade.

They even confirmed i can trade in from 13th for pixel 7 offer

          • +2

            @zb c: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/jbtradein

You can check your phone here and what it's worth.

I did it for the S22 Ultra. Did the assessment only for my Note 20 Ultra online, they gave me $480 straight away (phone is in mint condition) on top of the $350 JB was offering.

You get an email with the codes to redeem and you have 7 days to send the phone.

            Pretty straight forward.

The trade in isn't handled by JB btw it's handled by a third party company called SquareTradeUp.

            Cheers,

          • @zb c: In the T & C's it states that the pixel 7 bonus offer with the Chromecast and nest hub can't be used with in conjunction with any other coupon.
That makes the trade in coupon void?

            • @Jarrah1234567890: If you use the trade-in coupon, you dont get the chromecast and nest hub.

not confirmed if that will be the case as the offers seem to overlap. wait and see i guess, but based on the terms, unlikely both can be redeemed

see further down, more comments on this below

          • @zb c: Tried iPad Mini 4 and they gave $80 trade in value for it.

      • My Moto G5s Plus was reported to have a value of 0. Hmmm.

        • cashies may give you more..

  • I just them to release it already so the price of the 6 Pro drops back to under $900 again.

  • +1

Is this in place of the current nest bundle or on top?

    • +1

The bundle ends on 13th Oct

      • Does it end on 13th or 16th Oct?

        The website has the following?

        Offer ends 16 October 2022

        • I was going by the expiry on this post

Looks like potentially can double dip on both offers

          • @BargainsGrabber: Thanks all good.
I'm a bit confused too, the post you referred to has ccwggtv and nest hub as bonus, but the JB website mentions an additional $100 JB gc..?

If can double dip, this seems excellent value and better than the google store credit deal here:
            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/729085

            • +1

@chew_chew: I doubt you can double dip. They had this last year for pixel 6 and you couldn't.

              • +1

                @uder: Fine print of preorder pixel 7 says;
Coupon can't be used in conjunction with any other coupons

                • @Jarrah1234567890: I think your interpretation is wrong. The terms and condition is for when you use the redemption coupon to get the ccwgtv and nest in store or online.

As far as I understand, there is nothing stated that says you can't use the trade-in voucher + value voucher to pre order. And if you pre order before 16 Oct, you should get the redemption coupon.

                  That's my understanding. Fingers crossed.

                  • @sagrgar: It would be awesome but I think unlikely. Worth waiting til the 13 though I guess as the pre-order deals all go til the 16th?

          • @BargainsGrabber: Confirm you can double dip, just purchased with the trade-in coupon and received receipt coupons for nest and hub. Had to ask for the gift card, the staff member didn't remember it.

            • @FullPelt: I'll wait till they send within 7 days as it's a standard bonus for that deal, but will be waiting..

  • +4

Almost fooled me. Thought it was $699 plus the $300 trade in coupon.

  • Thought I could get a sneaky upgrade from the 6 pro to the 7 pro but with coupon I'd still be $650 out of pocket. Boourns.

    • Hang on, your 6 pro is only worth 349?

      • $500 (256GB model)
Was looking to go like for like. Probably should have been more clear, apologies.

    • +2

I just did the process and Pixel 6 Pro gives you $450 device trade in + bonus $300 trade in voucher

Out of pocket should be $549

      • +3

$450? it was just worth $500 last week, lol.

        • +10

Last week the 6 Pro was a current model

      • +1

Not sure that’s a great deal!. Not sure what your gaining.

      • Did you have to do anything in particular to request the $300 extra or does it come through via email when you do any trade in?

  • Also $350 on the S22, worse than the last two but an alternative to the HN deal if you get JB to price match Amazon $949.

    • Where is the Pixel for 949?

      • Also $350 on the S22

    • Lol. The value went down fast. It was 600 last eofy trade in. Last month it was 550. Now it 350? Terrible.

      • Unless that wasn't posted, it was $450 Feb/March pre-order, $500 July now $350. Never over 500 (and a 30% off in May not worth mentioning). It's actually a good deal if you can get $949 to begin with.

        • +1

S22 was around $600 when Pixel 6a came out.
I wanted to trade my S22 with 6a but it felt like a downgrade and didn't do it.

          • @Mi2: $600 valuation? Sure, but here I'm talking about the bonus credit promos that make it worth the trade-in (and the only time I'd purchase an S22), of which there have been four so far - three specific amounts in Feb/March, July and Sept/Oct, one 30% off in May.

    • +1

This doesn't sound right, unless I'm not checking at the right place. On Square Trade I get 500 for my slightly scratched base S22 128GB.

      • See here
It's also in the FAQ link in the OP above, under

        $350 off Samsung Galaxy S22 range - Coupon 4

        • I traded in my S22 128GB for $600 and got a $300 voucher which meant I only had to pay the balance after subtracting from the $999 RRP. I also got a $30 discount from live chat so effectively only paid $60 to get a Pixel 7.

          Good deal?

          • @Mungnang: Yep, very attractive deal if you wanted to switch. You should be able to see that, only being $60 out of pocket.

          • @Mungnang: Pretty good hey..
Just sold my pixel 5 for $350 so only $99 out of pocket (but sold a pixel 5 fabric case for $50 , still got the $100 JB voucher and sold the Google stuff for $150).

      • +1

I think there is a misunderstanding here. My understanding was same as you

When techie's comment said "also $350 for the S22", I think they meant you also get a 350 trade in bonus on the s22. Not the s22 trade in value is worth 350 (which is what I thought it meant)

My base s22 is worth 500.

        • There's not going to be a flat rate on the S22's trade-in value, $350 value would be far too low, and the promotion here is a bonus credit on your trade-in, so yes that's what my comment means. There's also a Motorola bonus promo running. FYI the catalogue page was there for you to browse long before you commented.

          • +2

@Techie4066: I know thats what your comment meant (after reading it twice). I didnt need to see the catalogue. I was clearing up the confusion as both harcle and ChickenAdobo interpreted your comment differently to what you intended.

  • +2

google credit deal seems to be better if you find some stuff to buy there

    • +1

Yes this is what I'm trying to decide. If they can be stacked potentially the JB offer is better as less out of pocket, though I don't particularly need another Chromecast.

      Google looks like 10% discount + $300 credit + 10% credit.

      JB 5-10% discount via GCs + $224 of products I don't necessarily need + $300 trade in bonus + $100 gift card.

I wonder if any of the other retailers will up their offer now that JB have.

      • How are you getting the 10% discount & credit through Google?

        • +1

this deal. Targeted but lots of people sharing unused codes.
Edit: The store credit is $300 on offer for pre-ordering Pixel 7P, can be stacked with the above. Also if you subscribe to Google 1 (2TB plan) you'll get 10% credit back from any spend.

      • How are you getting the $100 gift card?

  • +5

Confusing post. The trade in value is a little confusing. Am I missing something here with a coupon? Check perks and nothing there?

    • +2

You're missing the link to trade up site

      • Thanks. I only got $100 for a Pixel 4a so I'm not sure where the bonus $300 is coming from? And I'm imagining it is stacking with the nest bundle? No idea.

      • +1

this one seems to lay it out a little better,

        https://jbhifi.squaretradeup.com.au/faqs

      • How does the trade in extra $300 work? I've filled out IMEI and most of my personal details but I still only get $320 for my phone and no extra $300.

Also can't see the Pixel 7 Pro anywhere.

        • +1

You get a bonus trade in voucher valued at $300.
Then a voucher for the value of the phone you're trading in.

        • +4

Starts in 3 days for the bonus 300

        • +1

Cancel it for now if you did submit. Then send the trade-in on or after 13th October. You'll get an email with the device value gift card, then I think you click a link or something to request the pixel 7 coupon and it then gets sent within a few minutes via email.

          • @zb c: Yep submitted and only the $100 with the bonus applies to other phone. Urgh, cancel now and do when meant to.

          • @zb c: Cheers mate and everyone else, nearly did submit so thanks for the info.

          • @zb c: I did the trade up before this post, and all I did was write to them @ [email protected]. Mention that I haven't gotten the $300 bonus. They have replied me with the code but say specfically it can only be used on the 13th. i did try today just to be cheeky, and yes didnt work :)

            So no need to cancel

  • Is the trade in value inclusive of the $300? Or is it $300 (coupon) + trade-in-value (whatever amount that may be)?

  • So,I can get the 7 Pro for $549? the 6 Pro is worth $450

    • In the same.boat but not sure if the upgrade is worth $550

      • I want to get rid of my 6 Pro just in case it craps out on me again+ not sure if the replacement Google sent me was a refurbished unit or not.

    • I think you actually get $300 + $450 if I am reading bargainsgrabbers comments right, it's pretty confusing from the JB site.

      • Thank you! that's what I'm thinking. I just hope JB don't bring the 6 Pro trade in value even more down.

        • I only get $360 for my iPhone 12 mini, probably get more on gumtree, so not worth it for me. Means $639 for the Pixel Pro 7, which is not bad.

  • +1

Potentially worth it if you can double dip the deal with the pre order bonuses, otherwise it's about average compared to google store deals for trading in my pixel 6 pro 128gb.

This deal nets $750 for the pixel 6 pro but paying full RRP for the new one and maybe some pre order bonuses if the deals stack.

Google store deal I can get 10% off RRP, $300 store credit + an extra $120~ store credit for having google one account… And then sell the P6P on eBay with zero fees (eBay plus deal) for at least $600. So that's a P7P for $1169 - $600 = $569 outlay and have $420 store credit on google.

    • +1

Do people still buy random used phones on ebay? how long will you be waiting to sell that though

      • +1

7 days from when I list it… And yes absolutely people do, all the recent sold listings are between $680-800 for P6P, so my $600 figure is fairly conservative and accounting for their being a flood of them in the next week.

        • yeah the Google Store deal seems better if your phone is selling for 500$ used or more

    • "And then sell the P6P on eBay with zero fees (eBay plus deal)"

What deal is this? From what I can see, you still pay a 13.4% fee when your item sells.

      • -1

It's only zero insertion fee , still get wholloped with fees when you sell.

Probably still better than trade, or getting spamme a by idiots on FB or bumtree.

          • @MinimalistWallets: Do that then.

Last time got slogged even though has the standard 99 free X per month eBay

            • @G-rig: The 99x free per month is the insertion fee, which is basically nothing and always free.

This deal is on eBay plus & you have to activate the link in that deal. Then you get 3x free final value fee sales (the 13% fee).

              • +1

@Binchicken22: Thanks may sign up again using the other cashback and list a few goodies ;)

                • @G-rig: Yeah it's well worth it, I usually am out of pocket no more than $1 to $20 a year for eBay plus and I get way more value out of it than that.

                  • @Binchicken22: true, hard to understand the people complaining - guess they may not buy anything on there.
Still can't get the 20$ popup i saw to rejoin ebay plus to show through the shopback app (with $40 off). Prob good enough costing $9 for the year.

    • How do you get an extra 10% off through Google?

  • +2

    So confusing.

I have pixel 6 which is worth $300 trade in value.

The Google nest + nest hub worth about $200 and a $100 jbhifi voucher

    So I would get pixel 7 for $99 ( $699 - $600 value )

Basically paying $99 to upgrade from pixel 6 to 7

    Feel free to correct me

    • You might not get the preorder bonuses.

    • The $699 for the Pixel 7 is after the $300 trade in coupon.

      So $999-$600= $399

      • edit: wrong post
