Banners aren't live yet. Doesn't seem to be limited to just home products so a lot of tech should be covered.

Here's hoping some Lenovo tablets will be included.

      • Do you think stuff like phone chargers, wall plugs, batteries, phone cases and similar will be included?

Do you know how often these sales come around? I recently placed a few decent orders on the site. Didn't know they have these kinds of sales like ebay does.

        • +4

The link in the OP takes you to the sale page where it does have categories. It'll more likely show you products related to what you search on AliExpress so it's possible.

Sales are fairly frequent. Most months they have coupons for "Selected Items" where it's a lottery if products will apply. Bigger sales upcoming is the pre-Singles day sale at the end of October, Singles Day on 11/11, then Black Friday 25/11 and Cyber Monday 28/11.

          • @Clear: With the long shipping times, I won't wait until end of the month. I'll just buy tomorrow when this sale starts.

I don't seem to be able to tell what will be on sale tomorrow, but I'll come back tomorrow and use the link and see. Perhaps a honing steel will be on sale.

Aliexprss also has coins you can earn for discounts on some items. Mostly I've only been able to save like 2% on some items only.

            • +4

@warmfruit: I'm finding shipping to be quite good lately. Some orders have only been taking 2-3 weeks. Banners should be going live sometime tomorrow before the sale starts.

In the larger sales AliExpress have minigames in the app where you can exchange coins for sitewide coupons. I always end up with heaps of US$1 off US$2 and similar coupons that stack with other codes.

              • @Clear: Ordered a WiFi USB recently & delivery was one week!!!
                Thanks Clear.

                • +1

@WatchNerd: Ah so you did go ahead in the end. Impressive shipping for that one.

                • @WatchNerd:

                  delivery was one week!!!

Now this is one hell of an optimism. How'd did it get sent? Concorde? lol

                • +1

@WatchNerd: Last week I got something delivered which was about 10 days.

                  • @gadgetguy: My first purchase just arrived today and 20 days is not bad at all for overseas.

  • +3

Take heed, if you leave a negative (1 star) review, they have the ability to delete your review.

I bought a battery charger and got scammed (defective, faulty and fake), i didn't get a refund or have the opportunity to exchange it (seller blocked me) so I left a 1 star review to warn others but my review was immediately removed. Now cs is pretending they and seller can't remove reviews but mine is gone. Avoid aliexpress imo

    • -1

It's not possible for a seller to delete a review and the only way they could disappear is if the seller relists the item, thus removing the listing and all subsequent reviews. Plus reviews on products aren't always instant - they can take a few days to appear.

      What's the store name?

      • +3

As far as i can tell, it wasn't relisted. It's the same listing as where i had ordered from. Seller blocked me twice and PayPal sided with them, return shipping was about $60,which cost more than the item and they wouldn't reimburse me for it either. Wei Intl Store. My review disappeared

        • Unusual to lose a dispute. What were you asking for? A refund?

          • +2

@Clear: Is it unusual to lose disputes? I asked for them to send me the original plug that they had removed and to offer a partial refund since there was a large scratch on it and it arrived damaged. Seller refused so i asked to exchange for another set and they blocked me. Or a full refund, at the very least i was expecting them to send the original plug so i could actually turn on the charger. Now it's a paper weight

            • +2

@OzBoganYeah: Sounds like you messaged the store instead of going through the AliExpress (or PayPal) dispute process. You can't be blocked from communicating with the seller through either.

AliExpress customer service really have no problem issuing refunds when you use their dispute process if there's something wrong with the product. You never message the sellers direct about issues because there's nothing to hold them accountable, unlike the dispute system.

              • @Clear: No, i opened disputes on both aliexpress and PayPal, i lost both. For the aliexpress one, they literally blocked me from responding to the dispute. The 'view possible solutions' was greyed out

    • Not saying it didn't happen but wouldn't all bad reviews be deleted then?

      • +1

I know how it sounds and that was my logic as well but why would i make this up? I've checked the listing and the reviews on the store and mine isn't there. Cs have confirmed that the system registered my review and they also can't find it

        • +1

I've been through this too. Had a really dodgy verdict from Aliexpress ruled in the sellers favor despite clear cut evidence in my favor. I then had my negative review for that purchase deleted by Aliexpress.

Also, I kept an eye on that sellers reviews after being screwed and I saw plenty of other negative reviews getting removed.

What I've learned is that you should be wary of sellers that have a high skew between their 1month rating and their 6month rating. Most sellers seem to only have a 0-2% skew. The dodgy seller I have tracked consistently has a 5-10% skew. ie. their 1month rating is typically 5-10% worse than their 6month rating, my claim is that this is because negative reviews aren't deleted instantly and so the 1month rating is less filtered/manipulated.

          • @Joku: I also had clear cut evidence which was rejected.

I appreciate your reply and it sucks you had a similar experience. Thanks for the tip about how the reviews tend to skew, that's an interesting tidbit everyone should be aware of. Did you ever get your money back?

            • @OzBoganYeah: Yeah I got my money back (partial refund for missing and incorrect parts) via credit card protection with my bank (Suncorp). The bank was surprisingly quite good about it all actually, polar opposite of the Aliexpress experience.

In the end the partial refund doesn't really compensate for all the time and frustration dealing with the sellers web of lies and Aliexpress's dodgy system though, or the time wasted documenting it all in an email to the bank.

It gets a lot worse than just this for me too really. The seller dicked me around long enough that one delay lead into another delay which lead to another delay which lead to my client going belly up and I was left unpaid for ~450hrs of work and ~$8000 in project specific expenditures…. this is all because I was dicked around long enough for the project to flow over into the start of Covid19 and the shitstorm of electronics component shortages. It's frustrating to think that if the sellers rating was legit, ie. they didn't have negative reviews being deleted on Aliexpress, I most probably would have avoided all of this.

              • @Joku: That's crazy you also lost so much time and money as well. You must've been furious.

It's ridiculous they can even remove reviews, seems like by removing them they don't only protect aliexpress but the sellers as well.

  • Ali has been ducking me around with a return. I’ve escalated to PayPal, but still taking ages. This was after the idiot seller sent me something totally different from what I bought, expected me to show them video of me opening it before they would refund me. Who the f##k videos themselves opening every single package?!

    • Push for a refund instead of a return. Works for me. I send a screenshot of the product listing, what my order showed and what I received

    • -1

Good luck getting your money back, i lost mine. PayPal sided with the lying seller for my dispute

    • By the sounds of it we all may have to start videoing anything bought from there.

    • How are you guys getting Paypal as a payment method? I've made dozens (maybe hundreds) of orders and credit card is the only payment option.

As an aside, I got a refund from my 28Degrees card when I had a poor outcome on a dispute with Ali.

  • Can the discount code be stacked on other codes?

    • The store coupons you see on individual listings will stack.

  • -5

    Boycott AliExpress.

    • Username checks out

  • Have to wait till 6pm today for the codes to work?

    • Yes.

  • Anyone buying a watch? Steeldive? Addiesdive? Pagani?

    • +1

      @WatchNerd

  • -3

Will never buy anything from Aliexpress.
Order a wall light took 45 days to arrived, after installed by electrician but the light work intermittently.
Contact the seller they just keep giving stupid excuses, trying to return and seller just ignored my message, and Aliexpress wouldn't care.

  • Worked on 1 out of my 6 items. Didn't see any banners.

    • Discount just automatically applies at checkout?

      • +1

No I had to apply the code. One item it said I didn't meet minimum spend ($20) yet my basket was higher (yes, in USD).

Other items it said the code was not recognised.

Lost patience so in the end I just did one big order and it allowed the lowest code. Better than nothing.

    • Didn't see any banners.

That's why the codes wouldn't work. It does say selected items with the banner.

      • Yeah but as I said, one code worked. Def no banners on any of my items.

Not blaming you, and I already upvoted the deal but the Ali code system is just not reliable.

        • Yeah I think that's why they say "selected items". Did the one item happen to have a Super Deals banner instead?

          • @Clear: I have no idea which item triggered the code, CBA going back now.

  • All my items say "sorry we didn't recognise this promo code" despite trying different sellers and testing way above the minimum spend

    • And how many of them have the banner?

  • Couldnt use LGE5 even though items I had in cart was over $50, used LGE2 and that worked for a $3 saving.

    • Did they all have the Lifestyle banner?

      • Oh I thought they were but might not have been thx -_-.

      • +2

mine has lifestyle and still couldnt use it

        • +2

          same here… =/

  • +4

None working for me either despite events banner on all my items 😢

  • +1

Not working either. Getting "We don't recognize this promo code. Have another try." :(
