anyone think they are good ? i mean aside of free…. i mean they get our details so not really free

    • +15

I had a membership with them for a year from previous deal and I didnt find anything useful.

    • +3

I'm doing it for the 150 QF points I'll get. That is all.

    • +4

No, I would not trust their recommendation..

    • Yes, I would trust their recommendation..

    • +4

I took up a similar offer last year as the cashback exceeded the cost and I regret it. No way to cancel the auto payment easily. Worst was the content/spam. Nothing but offers to upgrade to get the real info.

    • +1

      anyone think they are good

NO. Most of their foolish stock picks from last year are down 70%-80% as their Stock Advisor recommended unprofitable and speculative stocks like DOCU, U, etc. Long-term or 5-year hold logic is BS and they say that to justify their mistakes. I will not recommend it.

Got this deal last year. Waste of money even for free it’s a waste of time trying to cancel and get a refund.

For the amount of money they make off people the website is trash

    • +5

so you cancel the renewal but they still charge next year? hmmm just like fitness first business model…

      • -1

and telstra and catch.com.au et al…

  • +14

    Avoid fool, they are terrible.

    • +4

      Totally agree.
I got it on this deal last year to avoid the stocks they recommended. It was helpful.
Good deal to claim the expense on tax

      • Haha, I like your style!

      • Or follow their recommendations and claim the losses on tax. Win-win.

    • Down ~80% :(

The real fool is the person who buys there subscriptions

Tried them with that AMEX + $70 Cashback deal last year (no cashback offers today from what i can see)…

Would have to say I didn't find much value. I think the worst thing is those click-bait style emails keep coming even if you're a member and I think thats the part I found most annoying.

Website feels about 10 years old. Cancelling is not the easiest process.
Don't think I'd renew it for 'free' with this deal.

    • How do you know if it's actually cancelled?

Went through the email tag routine and had the auto renewal removed, received email confirmation that it's cancelled…. but still get the same spam and account login seems the same. (Expired sept no attempt to charge yet..)

      • once cancelled you still have access for the 12 months you've paid for - assume thats why.

        • Already expired.. must have won bonus months..

        • It’s the fact that ghee know you’re an investor they will send you the spam emails anyway. It’s cheap advertising for them. All their emails are just adverts. Recommendations are based on what their guys read on the web or else based on what the I institutions are buying. I am sure the guys spend no more than a few hours a week on actually researching. The cancellation process is cumbersome and not worth my time for 99 qantas points.

  • Got this and about to hit the button, lucky i saw comments here

  • +3

I can join only if they pay me.

  • +2

How much are they getting paid to shill
    stocks by these companies?

  • +1

this was useful last year to stack with Cashrewards cashback - net $70 return for banal stock picking advice. easy to cancel too, but i may not bother unless there’s another shopback / cashrewards stack

  • +1

Stacked the same AmEx offer last year with:

Cashrewards on the first night of the deal before Motley realised and pulled it from cashback the following morning. Fools.
Stake offer of a year's worth of free brokerage for subscribers.

  • This was a very bad subscription. I can’t believe anyone would actually pay for it

  • Anybody happy with them?
To me Fool seems worse than our yobbo Gerry!
Amex users are also the doldrums as a merchant!

  • Got this last year and the only good thing about it was getting stake free brokerage for the year. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/686521
