Klik USB-C Male to Dual DisplayPort Female Adapter (KCDP2AD) $49 + Delivery @ AusPCMarket

80

Been looking for a USB-C to dual displayport adapter that could output 4k@60hz extended for a while now but, they all start around $100 and go way up from there. I was sceptical of this adapter because of how much cheaper than any of the others it really is but the brand "Klik" is the same company that is contracted by Officeworks (Comsol) to make (or rebrand) their exclusive products. So, that makes me feel better about quality and warranty. On that note, the manufacturer's website, says the warranty is "Lifetime" however, it is difficult to figure out what that actually means. It seems to only be 12 months but the brand "Klik" is never explicitly mentioned.

As long as you have a USB-C port that supports DP1.4 Alt Mode. This dock should work. I bought it already and can confirm it is working with my ASUS ROG Strix G15 AMD Advantage.

AusPCMarket says it is on sale from $91 to $49 (+$13 shipping for me = $62) but, I'm unsure if that is just the constant price. No end sale date is listed.

Website extract:

Features

  • One (1) USB-C Male Connector
  • Two (2) DisplayPort Female Connectors
  • Supports duplicate or extend mode for Windows
  • Supports simultaneous 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) @60Hz*
  • Host powered - no additional power required
  • Plug and Play - no drivers or software required

*Computer must support HBR3 or DisplayPort 1.4
*For video output the USB-C port on your computer must support DP-Alt Mode (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) check your laptops specification on its manufactures website or user manual

Hope this helps someone in the same boat.

EDIT: Forgot to point out that my laptop and monitor both support FreeSync however, (IN MY CASE) that does not seem to work with this adapter. Just in case anyone was curious about that.

That's HDMI, not Displayport. But I wouldn't be surprised if it can be found on AliExpress cheaper.

  • Can I use this for my surface pro and display 2 external monitors?

You'd need to look up the specific model you have and check that the USB-C port supports at least Displayport 1.4 and "Displayport Alternate Mode" ("DP Alt Mode", shortened).

  • Hi OP, thanks for sharing. May I know does it support high refresh rate (100Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz) in QHD resolution?

    • Unfortunately, everything I posted is all the information I could find and the monitors I own are both 60hz max, so I cannot just test this for you. I would presume that a lower resolution would allow for a higher refresh rate but you'd best call Comsol (Tel: 0293520000) to get a precise answer on that one.
