AFTERHOURS

Original Coupon Deal

Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8PLt4lG-tY

Interesting how 360 video cameras have gotten smarter and easier to use. Quite a new release - this doesnt appear to come with the selfie stick or other accessories.

This might be the action video camera you never knew you wanted lol.

Got mine today. Pretty awesome camera. If you order off insta360 site its $799 with free delivery (mine took about 2.5wks to get here)
If you order via links on many youtube reviews you get a free $25 selfie stick. Lots of the insta and aftermarket accessories available on amazon .

    • I got mine today too! Have you figured out how to export Flat video (e.g. edited 360 video to track a person throughout) in the full resolution? I recorded in 4K 60fps but can only export at 1080p, no option to increase it.

I can export the full 360 video in 4K but not the edited one. This is a deal-breaker for me if this is just something it can't do - no point recording in 4k if your edited footage is stuck at 1080p!

      • I just watched a couple videos on this camera (didnt even know such cameras existed!), and was under the impression the 5.whatever / 4K video in 360 mode was the total 360 degree resolution. I think it only captures "flat" 4K video when using single camera mode (using it as a regular action camera)?

As I said, never even heard if this product until I saw this post, so I may be completely mistaken! (Just what I gathered from watching 2 videos!)

  • Tempting. The rate this is dropping (already at 749 on Amazon), this will hopefully be down to 650s by end of year.

I've got the One X and it's brilliant. The stabilisation is naturally incredible and after a few minutes figuring out how to avoid or work with where the stitch lines will be, it's dead easy to get great footage, and footage you just can't get any other way. It's not critical as the stitching is actually ok but if it's in the centre of your frame it will be noticeable. The (free) software is really capable too, but you will need to watch those tutorials to understand how it's doing it's thing and get the most out of your recordings. The options available, through programming timelines and transitions in the software or just manipulation of your own point of view and zoom can make some very very cool footage. I've used it in motorsport, competition shooting, and hiking so far. My only minor annoyance is low light photo and video was poor (this is my two generations old One X I'm talking about). Pretty much nothing at the Cairns aquarium came out, which was disappointing cause I was looking forward to seeing what could be done with the angle and zoom abilities in the tunnels and bubble ports.
In my opinion these are the pick of action cameras for anyone who is willing to do some (even basic) editing of their footage.
I'm so getting this version, but in true OzB fashion… I think I want it cheaper 😂
    HTH.

I've been following the hype with this new release x3. Insta have gone all out with marketing this via top YouTubers. $650 would be the right price for me to bite but its probably unlikely to happen. X2 was still going for $700 or so not long ago.
