Kingsoft Writer is a powerful word processor that offers a smaller file size than its competitors. It can do everything from decking out reference letters to writing a biography containing photos, diagrams, index and embedded illustrations. Not only does it contain the basic functions of other word processors, but it also contains unique features that competitors don’t have.
Usual price is £12 UK pounds.
From what I can tell it looks comparable to LibreOffice, but this being an actual commercial product, has a bit more polish and user-friendliness.
For those who like the "Ribbon" interface but cannot actually afford the Microsoft product, this program is probably for you. I know I'm not exactly a big fan of the LibreOffice interface.
For the Office 2003 purists, the app can be configured to look and function similar to Office 2003 with the cascading menu interface.
Keeping the software for later use (Forever)
If you want to keep this software forever, download and use the GAOTD Setup Keeper from SourceForge which can extract the original executable from the GAOTD wrapper software.

It does look very similar to Microsoft Office's Ribbon interface. Also note that Kingsoft is based in Beijing, and the same company that gives us free office software on Android.
Whether the interface is polished or not, if you do care about your documents and availability of software to read them 10-20 years down the track, I'll still suggest Libre/OpenOffice.
