Cheapest Adobe Creative Cloud that can be purchased through official channels, excluding 3rd party unauthorized sellers whose licenses seem to terminate early.

The 'student' qualification requirements are not listed on the HN site, so not sure if these are the same as purchasing directly from Adobe, or whether this avenue offers a 'relaxation' of some of these requirements. (Those with direct experience will know, and are invited to post in the comments).

        It is for a 12 month subscription, but it is unknown whether the renewal price would remain at $188 (I suspect it would not).

        Back when physical retail copies of Adobe product existed, Adobe would deliberately allow educational versions to be purchased by anyone, so as not to miss out on revenue from those that could not justify the expense of purchasing the full commercial versions.

      I believe so - the educational versions are not supposed to be inferior to the full commercial versions.

      It says it needs to be validated; does that mean when you go to sign in at Adobe it asks for proof of your student/teacher status?

        Yeah I think you need to enter an edu email address in your Adobe account off memory and then they take a couple of days to check validity

      I migrated to affinity for photos / images (one time purchase) and kdenlive for video (free). Has been working well for me.

        Did you get only Affinity Photos 2 or the entire suite? I am still faster with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I still press Photoshop keyboard shortcuts a lot when using Affinity Photos 2.

          I got the whole suite, but I have never really used illustrator that much. Mostly just used photoshop (so now AF Photo).

      lol I remember I. The naughties when it was cheaper to fly to America, buy the creative suite, and fly back than to buy in Australia.

      Honestly, it’s not as good as owning it forever, but that used to be like 3 grand. This is pretty good imo

    Adobe suite is free for all vic government high school students and teachers of primary and secondary anyway
