Little typo in top post. Looks like a nice keeb if you're into DSA style caps, dedicated arrows is a plus too but expected in this price range.

I could be wrong but I remember reading somewhere I think the keycaps it comes with are closest to OEM profile.

You're right, my bad! These are they're special OSA caps!

  • Is this v1 or v2?

    • It doesn't say V2 on Amazon so I assume it is the V1 version the same as in the previous deal I linked. Part number is Q1C1.

If you are worried about it being V1 here is some info I learned from r/MK subreddit.

The main difference of V2 is a "thicker" bottom case and built in silicone squares that are meant to cancel out vibration and hollowness. Problem is the silicone did not work too well and many users of the V2 had to perform the "force break" mod the same way they did with the V1 Q1. The force break mod is just small pieces of masking tape in between the top and bottom case near where the screw holes are. Don't ask me why but this masking tape solution works so much better than the silicone pieces at killing hollowness and after doing it you can just remove the foam inside for maximum flexing movement and softness of the plate.

In other words after doing the proper mods V1 and V2 end up being very similar in the end. Some even say the "thicker" bottom case didn't make much of a difference after the force break mod. The same way with the silicone pieces the new design of the V2 just doesn't do enough to get rid of the hollowness of the keyboard.

V1 also had problems with the top case clashing with non-keychron keycaps. That's a much bigger deal breaker to me.

"V1 also had problems with the top case clashing with non-keychron keycaps."

Yes that's right the V1 has slightly rounded corners on the inner edges of the top case honestly it's very very slight and barely noticeable.
It was only causing scraping problems for large profile keycaps such as Drop MT3 or SA profile. You won't have any issues with 95% of keycaps out there which are Cherry or OEM profile.

Also we are talking about 0.1mm differences in size here. So those who were stuck with the V1 and wanted to fix it simply used fine grit sandpaper to reduce the corner sharpness of their large profile keycaps.

i have no issues, i have one of the 1st production model of Q1. absolutely nothing wrong with mine.

i have gm keycaps, lubed gat ink black switches , pc plate, durock stabs, tape, and foam. great sound and feel, i absolutely love mine. just wished the Q0 would have the same layout to match my keyboard, it just annoys me so much. I don't have OCD, but this numpad next to my keyboard is making me have OCD, lol.

You can buy the V2 top plate from Keychron to fix this by the way, just contact their customer service

    • Looks like V2 based on keycaps and straight cable, so I'm pretty sad I missed it.

Been waiting for a while on another q1 deal I cant belive I missed this

    • Honestly it's a pretty desirable premium keyboard right now so it was bound to sell out quick.

  • Missed out! I was on the Keychron website checking what was in stock tonight and forgot to check Ozbargain! Bad luck

Son of a gun I was waiting for the right price to get this one and I missed it…

  • out of curiosity besides size factor, how much of an upgrade is this compared to an Anne Pro 2 or Ducky 3?

  • For anyone missed out, probably have a look at GMMK 2 96 pre-built, they are also good for the price.

  • Anyone else get an email saying "We're encountering a delay in shipping your order. We'll make every effort to get the delayed item to you as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience."?

I think I got that message before when ordering a mouse.
Basically it showed as "in stock" but changed to "Back order" after I got that email and it showed a new shipping date which was a few weeks away.
I think it happens when Amazon mistakenly lists the number of units in stock.
I got what I ordered just not in 3 days like I expected and more like 2 weeks I think.

  • Just got my keyboard and it's a Q1 V1, not a V2.. even though the description and pictures matches with a V2.

    • +1

Fully assembled Q1 V2 is $269 + delivery. I think you were wishing for a bit too much because in previous deals all these lower price discounts have been for the V1.
Honestly if I thought it was V2 I would have put it in the title.
