I think this is an all time low now for this mixer. There will probably more price drops now that the Rodecaster pro 2 is out, but judging from the usual $1,000 price tag on that right now it might be a while.

Although now that I'm typing this I realise the RODECaster Pro II is $863.20.

Stacking it with the 10% Cashback promo from Cashrewards brings it down even lower.

  • This is still a solid unit, I have this plus the Pro 2. Recommend to anyone who wants quick and easy way to record, with or without a PC.

  • What ever happened to OzBargain and the podcast… I remember either Scotty or Neil said a while back a company approached them to do a podcast for Ozbargain and they were asking our opinions…

    • I remember reading that thread. The general consensus was that there wouldn't be much traction as most people would go to the site to look for any deals rather than listen to a podcast. Most deals would be time-sensitive as well so there's no use of listening to any older episodes or maybe one that's a couple hours old.

But if you're interested, I did interview Scotty for my own podcast. I can link you in PM :p

  • Damn that's a good price. Been looking at getting one of these. Any noteworthy reason to upgrade to the new one over this?

I found the Shure SM7B didn't need a Cloudlifter with the RC pro 2. There is also an inbuilt preset for it which is nice to know that RODE acknowledge mic's other than their own.

      • Correct, RC Pro 2 has better pre-amps, even Zoom Podtrak P4/P8 better amps for SM7B than RC Pro 1

  • I ended up buying one (just before the 2 was released of course) last year. It was closer to the price the 2 is now, I remember Digidirect had it maybe $50 cheaper than where I got it (wireless 1) but that DD was a bit vague on whether they actually had stock or not, and said it could be over a month before I got it…

But damn, probably would have waited over a month for a $150 saving lol, or paid an extra $150 for the 2
