    4.7" pointy pizza knife? … I think I'll stick to the $7 round nose 4.3" "steak knives"…

    • That's how I questioned myself why people spend $7 for a table knife, after I spent $29.95 on a set of steak knives? 😁

      • Those things are so bloody sharp, I sliced the top of my thumb open (again) today with one.

I don't think it's a good deal, even for the pointy version. This is $11.95 per knife + delivery.

Victorinox itself sells a set of 6 pointy knives for $11.66 per knife + delivery, and you can apply a 10% off signup code on top.

Ok so you say with Prime, delivery is free for the 2 knife deal.

Amazon (via Amazon UK) also has the set of 6 pointy knives, in blue, for $7.50 per knife and free Prime delivery.

Well, both your references are 11cm blade length, the one in this post is 12cm.

Maybe, it's easier to search for a paring knife and claimed they looks alike, functionally similar, and cheaper.

There's no need to be obtuse, the paring knife has an 8cm blade which is much more different from a 12cm blade than an 11cm blade.

Speaking of which, I do have a set of decade old 11cm ones, and I don't see what I could cut with a 12cm blade that the 11cm could not.

This is Ozbargain, emphasis on bargain. If you would like to pay 59% more for 9% more blade that's up to you, but it is not an attractive deal for most.

        • You're right of course, but a neg might be a bit harsh considering the alts are different products. I didn't neg you.

victorinox we usually see posted are cheap on the short blades …the 11cm and 12cm are a bit scarcer …..and baca use the 11 and 12 cm victorinox cost more than the short ones, the price points for these longer ones gives the option of other brands if you want serrated steak knives …… i personally prefer 12 cm / 5” steak knives as it’s close to the length of a regular dinner knife , the paring knife lengths we often see are about the size of an entre knife.

in regards to steak knife ……they do tear rather than cut meat and lots of the juice runs out but it does remove the need to sharpen ……. it’s why you don’t carve a roast with a serrated bread knife and carving knives from global shun sabatier wursthof, etc etc are smooth edge.

Since when do people use a knife for pizza? I cut it with a wheel and then eat it with my hands, like a civilised person!

    • when the pizzza is too hot to hold with hands …. i use knife and fork until it cools down ….also less messy / risky if you have very stretchy and lots of cheese or lots of toppings and clean clothes ….nothing worse than a prawn falling off onto shirt or into lap. because the pizza saggged or lots of toppings ….. more flexibility at home with hands but when eating out i use knife and fork for pizza, and have them anyway for salad when eating at home.

Agree, not a good price for two, and wouldn't even use it for pizza..
(get a pizza wheel or use a big chef's knife).

At least get a set of the curvy nosed ones, that way you can at least use it to spread and cut.
