great, missed this deal last time, you can never have too many little screw drivers :)

  • +1

    This isn't pocket size.

    • very misleading. when i try to fit it into my pocket people will think i've got a bon*r

    • +1

the meritline was cheaper than this one. what i don't get is why this one is a 31 in 1 and the meritline is 30 in 1? an extra screw for $1?

  • How many screws do you need!!

    • +7

      Over 9000.

  • +4

    Don't Pay $24.95

I certainly won't be when I can source the same item for around $3 any day of the week from eBay.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?LH_BIN=1&LH_AvailTo=15&_nk…

I suspect this item ships from HK, in which case it is cheaper buying it from eBay.

    • Don't Pay $24.95 doesn't mean you can't pay $3 for the same item. Yeh it's misleading.

      • don't pay $100.

    • +2

It cost about HK$20 in Apliu Street in Hong Kong. And $3 from ebay etc.

Poor quality screwdrivers will damage screws, it's not recommanded to use this crap. Good quality screw drivers are made in Germany and Switzerland. If you think they are too expansive, at least buy those made in Japan.
      The following brands are recommanded:
Wera, Wiha, PB Swiss Tool, CK, Bahco, Tweezer

      • Good recommendations, but Made in Japan items could also be expensive.

I have this item from a Meritline sale. It is OK for occasional use.

I suggest that you use your spelling checker and a dictionary. expansive recommanded

        • Well, MIJ are much cheaper compare to those brands I've recommended. ($5~$2x per screwdriver vs. $1~2 per screwdriver)

You can use this, but you need to be really careful choosing correct tip and force to use as those tips are made in aluminum alloy but not stainless steel.

          Sorry for the wrong spellings.

  • Looks nearly identical to the Meritline one. Good deal if it's not drop shipped.

    • The items will be shipped directly from Overseas Supplier by Air Parcel. It take 1-2 Weeks (plus Handling Time) to arrive Metropolitan area in Australia; 2-4 weeks (plus Handling Time) to arrive Other areas in Australia.

Haha. They're making 100% profit if they buy it for $2.49 from Meritline and drop ship it to customers. Genius.

  • Looks good, but I grabbed the free app instead.

  • +4

meritline periodically sells similar for $2.49 delivered http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71721

no way it is worth $25. the bits are not hardened so you need to be very gentle with them.

  • +1

The bits are made of soft cheese and will deform and break if you try to exert the slightest torque on a screw. I would not recommend this at all.

    • Just a waste of crap! :)

    • Yeah, they are made out of soft grade chrome aluminum. Bought one similar on ebay for $3.50 . The torx piece become a round head piece after i tried opening my 3 years old xbox controller. Would probably work on brand new controller. Wouldn't recommend it at all. At $5 it certainly not a bargain as meritline had it on sale for $2.49 and $3.5 every day on ebay.

      • Seconding this. I got the same thing with the torx. Found a set at Bunnings for ~$7 that are made of better quality material and they've been great.

    • Cheddar or tasty? Because the price of decent cheese is going through the roof lately.

      • softer - room temperature camembret.

  • +1

Never buy cheap screw drivers, they can easily damage screws which may prevent you open the object without prying it open.

    • +2

      agreed, well, part of it.

cheap screwdrivers is OK for occasional use on screws that aren't tight,
I use these meritline style screwdrivers for PC & small stuff and they are fine,
just have to becareful & be gentle at the same time, use a better one for those hardened/tight screws.

I find it sometimes it is just how the way people use the screwdrivers,
they didn't apply force deep till the end & start unscrewing,
that will damaged the screws for sure!

      • So to summarise, if you're used to cheap screws you should know to force it in deep.

  • Just in case anyone interested, my package arrived today. Quite impressive in terms of delivery time frame. I ordered on 2nd of July. Interestingly it was sent from Singapore not from China as advised by Meritline's generic email, nice little package. Unfortunately the plastic cap is broken (a small part though) but the tools are of quite good quality, taken into account how much paid for. On a side note, I ordered some gift cards from VelocityRewards on 29th June, supposedly sent from somewhere in Australia, no show yet. Higher wage is never a guarantee of higher efficiency.
