I thought people's accounts were being deactivated? Or what that a different one.

        • I did see that people were saying that their accounts were being deactivated and some mentioned that it may have been due to the payment method. Mine has been working fine without any issues for the past 3 months. I made a new account and used my Revolut Disposable Card. No issues at all.

          • @Z9Plasmahh: Alright, thanks for the response.

I read every message on that thread a few weeks ago, but wasn't able to acknowledge if the issue was just Disney/Google getting on top of things or incorrect application.

    • This is also easily done via ios - no VPN required. I’ve been running with it for 6 weeks, no issues.

The good people at mydealz.de posted a guide - google translate will help you out:

  • My Samsung TV doesn't have Disney app built-in. What is the recommended way to view Disney on the TV? TIA

    • +1

If it's a smart tv try to download from Google Play store or sideload. Otherwise only other option is buy fire stick or chromecast

      • He said its a Samsung so how would he have access to Play store. But yeah buy a discounted chromecast with Google tv.

    • Just get a cheap firetv

  • My sub expires in a week. If I sign up again before 20/09 can I use the discount?

    • Yes, just let it expire and then signup again for $1.99 afterwards.

    Thanks OP!

Question: can you sign up and then cancel straight away and still use the month?
Reason I ask is I received a free month with stan if i renew but I wanted to cancel straight away and it said if i did i would lose the entire free month.. reminder set so hopefully I don’t forget lol

    • +1

You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of your billing period

It appears you can cancel as soon as you sign up and the trial will remain for the month.

      • Thanks mate, very much appreciated

  • Great

  • Got an email invite for this offer from Disney+ (inactive account)

  • What do I do - I have been charged the full $11.99 amount? Not happy.

I clicked on the $1.99 offer, I had an existing account log in and I clicked on the $1.99. It accepted it and I agreed to the conditions and then Disney Plus was working. I then decided to just double check what they charged me - it isn't easy on the iPad. Finally I found that they charged me the FULL $11.99 for the first month.

What do I do now? I tried cancelling the subscription, but it just says that I can use Disney Plus for a month, but still have to pay the full $11.99. Not happy. There is no-one to contact at Disney Plus - no support that I can find. HELP

Talk to their webchat and they'll issue you a $10 refund

      • +1

Thanks. All solved now. For others here I'll explain what happened.

Call Disney Plus on 1800 965 160 - (it took me a long time to find this number, but it was worth it)

In my case I was charged $11.99 because I clicked on the link from my iPad, and although I clicked on the $1.99 offer button, the payment was made through my iPad iTunes account where I had some credit. Apple are a little sneaky here because if the $1.99 button opened in a web browser and I paid Disney Plus directly, then the $1.99 would have been honoured. Instead my iPad went to the Apple app to start the subscription, and was vague about how much it would cost… and when I checked later I found that they had charged me the full $11.99 without telling me.

Solution from the Disney Plus call centre:
        (1) Request a refund from Apple for the Disney Plus subscription by going to reportaproblem.apple.com and following all the prompts, eg select "I'd like to request a refund", etc. The refund will be issued within 48 hours.
        (2) The Disney Plus call centre then arranged for a free one month subscription because of this issue.

I asked whether they are getting many calls about this type of issue, and she laughed and said, "many, many, many calls"

        Hope this helps others.

I clicked on the link from my iPad

it is always better to do all purchases on a PC with a browser

          • +1

@bazingaa: Now you tell me :-)
Honestly I only have Disney Plus on my iPad and thought that it would do the right thing. Sneaky Apple.

  • is there anything new to watch ?

  • +1

Already paid the $1.99 and will create a new account and pay another $1.99 on the last day of this offer

    • +1

      This is the way.

To renew again though says that promotion ends 'Offer valid until 12:59 PM AEST on 20/09/22'' - aren't these kind of things usually 11:59 PM - i.e midnight - not 1pm in the afternoon?

      • just pay 1 day before

  • has anyone received their points?
