What makes this so much better than a $100 blender?

      • +15

Why did you take time to write such a useless comment?

      • -1

You must be fun at parties.

    • +1

      It will last 5ever

      • +1

will it last more than 3.53 x $100 blenders? XD

        • +3

          Yes

        • +2

It's also about the performance and smoothness of the blend, not the durability only

        • +1

It's less about how long it'll last, and more about how well it blends.

These Vitamix blenders make really smooth smoothies/soups/whatever

If that's not important to you, then stick with the cheaper blenders

    • +28

What advantages does this blender have over, say…a train. Which I could also afford.

      • +7

You can’t control how mashed up you want it to be with a train, whereas with this you can

      • +1

Well, Count Homer, shall we discuss the…?

        No we shant… YOINK!

    • -1

probably the hot soup function. This blender can cook the soop at the same time.

      • Does it heat up purely based on the blade heat? Or is there also a heating function? (genuinely interested)

        • +1

The blender that heats up liquids is called the Thermomix, not the vitamix

          • +1

@diviCe: vitamix does it through blade friction. nice thing about these as opposed to the cheap crap is the motors won't burn out from leaving them on continuously to bring soups up to temp.

            • @gromit: Oh thats pretty interesting, but then that means it's like.. Raw soup if that's a thing?

              • +1

@frogduck: yeah, I could be wrong as I have never tried to cook it in it. I have put cold roast pumpkin in with a little cream and let it come up to temp.

            • +2

@gromit: So, good for hot smoothies then?

              • @tik tok: Never tried. I like my smoothies cold lol. Have used it for a few hot chilli or gravy sauces.

        • vitamix does this through blade friction. takes about 10 mins, not sure it cooks more like brings it up to temp.

    • +8

Once you experience the power of blending with Vitamix, you will never go back to normal blender.
If you love to drink smoothies or fruit juices, then you must own a Vitamix blender.

      • +6

I disagree 100%. If you love smoothies or juices, buy a 1000w Nutribullet. Way easier to clean than the Vitamix.

        • +1

I rinse my vitamix under the sink tap, done. Smoothy residue be gone. Just don't let it sit for hours.

        • +1

Vitamix is very easy to clean, add warm water, soap, blend for a minute or (less if it's just simple blend) so, rinse done

        • +1

NutriBullet usually have the problems of leaking at the blade area/lid for the Model 600, 1000 and 1200.
I was using NutriBullet and NutriNinja before changing to Vitamix E310.
I am planning of upgrading it to the premium Vitamix Model A3500i when it is on special sale next time.

          • @Michael Lim: The new blade unit on Pro Nutribullet models is a different design and doesn't have the leaking issue.

    • +1

QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY. I've hammered mine for 16 years, never misses a beat. I got a hundred dollar one as a "spare" or for ont he road, and it's woeful in comparison. This is seriously good bargain, like CRAZY GOOD.

      • +1

I'm so sick of my froothie blender it goes through brushes and makes a mess with the carbon dust

Can't wait to upgrade to a Vitamix

        • +1

Same happened to me. Advised mother to buy Vitamix before getting Froothie Optimum blender. Hers is still going strong, mine I have replaced the brushes and got rid of it. Vitamix is the best.

  • +2

    super what now?

  • How does this compare to other Vitamix blenders?

  • +1

Indeed a great price for a Vitamix. $699 on the Vitamix website: https://www.vitamixaustralia.com.au/products/explorian%E2%84…

  • -1

But what if I don't have any Vita's to mix?

  • +8

    Will it blend?

    • They make a nice one too. Blendtec or vitamix are good.

    • That is the question.

  • -3

    Username doesn't check out

  • does it have bluetooth?

    • +1

It will turn your bluetooth mobile phone to powder.

  • I have this one in white.. It blends.

  • +1

    Buy now think later.

  • This is an awesome deal. I paid $750 (similar model) over 8 years ago

  • Very good. But paid $300 ish last on 2019

    • Now that sounds like a good price. Where from? It didn’t get posted in ozbargain it seems?

    • +4

This is $300 ish in 2022 with hyper inflation - ITS A BARGAIN! As was your purchase.

  • this or Ninja?

  • +1

My $20 blender from this deal is still going strong for making protein shakes. I can't see how it'd be possible for this model to achieve a 15 fold improvement on that.

    • +1

tbh this probably is 15 times better for certain things, i.e. if you're going to make acai bowls or something similar.

      • Yeh any fibre strings get destroyed into tiny particles

  • +2

Vitamix = Ferrari Blender. I bought one for $700 very happy. This price is a bargain

    • +2

The same model? There seem to be a lot of negative reviews for this model w.r.t the plastic feeling cheap and jar doesn't sit tight etc

  • +1

damn thats very cheap for the blender. Highly recommend as a owner whos been using for 2+ years

    • +2

16 years for me and still going string. This price is crazy good.

  • Just missed it!

  • +6

$350 but ship and sold by STREET VENDOR LTD which was launched recently (today?) with 0 reviews. Yeah…probably not

    • +2

Even the name doesn’t inspire confidence..

      • Delivered fresh to you straight out of some dude's car boot

  • @Yell0w, thank you, just got it. Been waiting for long time. Couldn’t justify myself when it was $500-600. Still expensive at $350 for a poor me, but feeling good :)

  • +1

Amazing deal but I missed out :(

    • Still available

  • +2

Got it for this price last year, in a surprising underwhelming post

No one should be buying a sub $150 blender unless you simply don't have the cashflow to save up for this. They shouldn't be allowed to sell Nutribullets and Ninjas, their QA is woeful

  • +1

I have a Froothie Optimum blender, which is a Vitamix knock off. At the time they were about half the price for essentially the same thing. I believe the model I have is made in Australia, it's extremely sturdy, had it 10 years so far and it hasn't missed a beat. Not sure if it's still the best value for money but it was 10 years ago.

    • Was just about to post this - I have the 8200 from a few years ago and it is very good, solidly built and no problems. I reached out them recently on fb for some advice on blending something I thought could damage the blades - they sent me a thoughtful answer with some tips as well. Reviews look good too - looks like this Vitamix isn't as solidly built based on the top review..

      • I have the 9400 which way about $400 at the time, the equivalent Vitamix was about $800. The Optimum is extremely well built, I don't think I lost out on anything at all by choosing it over the Vitamix, I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually better quality.

        • +1

I have the 9400, i blend a lot of frozen fruit, on my second or third blade in 4 years, have replaced the brushes twice and had the base replacement under warranty once

The brushes are low quality and make a huge mess with all the carbon dust, I keep a tea towel under it otherwise the bench goes black, not sure if that's normal.. it also stinks if I don't add enough water (burning carbon brushes)

It's been good for the price, but would love to upgrade if a Vitamix didn't have these issues

          • @jjsnacks: Wow, I haven't had any of these problems, maybe I don't use it as frequently as you do though. I've never seen an carbon dust at all.

            • +1

@bleeder: Yeah I use it at least once a day and frozen banana is hard on it

  • Thanks mate

  • Smoothie recipes please drop!

  • +2

Seeing as this deal hasn't been marked as 'Sold Out' yet, I'm assuming people are buying from the third party seller who has no selling history.

    • It is $3.04 cheaper. Wouldn't be ozbargain if you weren't taking the risk for that saving! (I did)

      • +1

What’s the likely risk ? Wouldn’t Amazon protect the buyers anyway?

        • +1

Ye but you will need to wait for a while till it's is pretty sure the buyer hasn't shipped anything. I myself tried to cancel my order but apparently it cant be, because the seller says it has already been dispatched! He put in a USPS tracking number as well. Looks very bogus to me.

          • +1

@0FoxGiven: Yeah…no proper business is gonna pack your order after working hours in Australia and especially not with USPS.

          • +1

@0FoxGiven: I also made the order from Street Vendor and surprised received email within half hour that this item had been dispatched. I felt strange because it's at night in Australia. I checked their invoice and realised that this company is from overseas and upon checked the address it's from UK. In this cases I concern if the item has an Australian plus as well as the warranty. Id something wrong with the item, how to claim the warranty. I didn't expect the item was sold by an overseas company and I bought. Surprised. What can we do in this case?

            • +1

@hchcn: @hchcn it is very odd that their address is UK, they're selling things to Australia, and the shipping code is the US postal service.

              • @stjep: @stjep, yes it's very odd. Since it shows dispatched already, the charge deducted immediately. It looks like a scam? I am not sure. Did you also bought from the same site? Let's see how we go. Never had this before. Amazon has to be informed re the scam and we have to claim the money back.

                • @hchcn: My nose tells me this is probably a scam, as there's a few other clones of this popping up if you look at other sellers for this same blender (there's another identical looking getup at $10 less).

Slim chance that this is just a thing that's popped up to flog stuff that's disappeared between the Chinese factory and distribution centre, and the USPS code is just fake because it's shipping with a cheapo Chinese carrier.

                  • @stjep: Yes, I know what you mentioned I saw another new seller with no reviews very similar with the one we bought from, has $340 the same device at the moment. Not sure how long we can get the money back. The website didn't tell they are from overseas. Amazon still remains the Australian website. So risky.

                    • +1

@hchcn: Have you tried contacting seller directly?

                      • +1

@deal01: I did. I contacted them through Amazon to ask for a correct tracking number since the one they gave is fake. The Amazon tool noted that if I don't receive a response by the 10th that I can contact them for support. Will use that to ask for a refund and will ask for a charge back on my card.

                      • +1

@deal01: @deal01 and @hchcn, I contacted them directly about their tracking number being bogus and they responded with this:

I have checked your order, mistakenly your tracking number put invalid. You will be provided with valid tracking number very soon. Thank you for your patience.

                        • @stjep: Thank you for your sharing. Yes the tracking number is fake. I wasn't provided a valid one. Since the seller answered all your enquiries let's see how we go. I contacted Amazon as I am not happy this item sold from overseas that makes inconvenience if there's issue, and Amazon AU website didn't tell you where this seller is from. Amazon told me we can return this item when received.

                        • @stjep: Thanks
This was their response to me:
Let us check the tracking number. We will upload invoice very soon. Thanks for showing patience

Did you reply to them ??

                          • @deal01: @deal01 just replied now asking for the correct tracking number. Will let you know what they come back with.

                            • @stjep: They have yet to send me the correct tracking - it says it'll arrive by tonight but I'm not even sure if it will since I can't track it

                              • @deal01: @deal01, this is the last thing I got from them before they went quiet:

we apologize for inconvenience you are facing.your product was damaged during shipping we have sent you a new product rest assure as soon we get tracking from our delivery partner we will update it

                                • +1

@stjep: I now am pretty confident they're bluffing. The last message I got was 12/9 and never replied to any more of my messages since. Never updated tracking number

                                  • +1

@deal01: Yup. I've got four days before I can ask Amazon for a refund.

                      • @deal01: Yes I did ask seller re the Australian plug and warranty. They got back to me said they verified the item is good before shipped out. Didn't mentioned any about warranty.

          • @0FoxGiven: hmm I guess it's the wait and see what happens

  • OOS

  • +1

Back at $350 if you are willing to wait 1-2 months (and if they are really going to get more stock)

  • +1

    Street vendor?. naaah

  • It's only around $500 brand new usually this looks like a cheaper Vitamix model
