  • Only if I didn't have 2 drills already, itching though

  • +7

fxxk all these deals/packs with 2 drills and ONE battery

    • +1

do you intend to drill 2 things at once?

      • +3

        You don't?!

        It's called spit roasting!

        Missing out.

It's fine for starting out & they're trying to get you into the ecosystem, but also so you'll buy more of their stuff.

      • +17

try drill a small hole then drill in a screw…. you will immediately notice the pain…

      • +5

        drill then screw.

      • +5

You use one to drill the pilot hole and one to screw it in - saves you changing the bit every time - when you have 10 + to do you will feel the pain

        • +5

drill 10 + pilot holes, change, screw in 10 holes.

          • +1

@aec: Yep, exactly what I want to do if im screwing something I have to hold in place.

Ie it works for some scenarios - but not all.

Thats why I have four cordless drills for each of my four arms*

*actually I have to admit I have more than this

        • +1

So instead of changing the bit, you change the battery?

          • +1

@CleverCounter: Drills are for drilling holes. Impact drivers are for driving screws into said holes.

      • Plyboard/MDF/Cheap furniture/hardwood needs to be drilled then fastened.

Same as plastic, Steel or whatever material

  • +1

These Brush-less? (Not that it really matters for the price I guess.)

    • -3

      Yes it’s a brushless

      • +1

        No, it's not brushless.

      • +2

No flipping way Bosch DIY home and garden stuff is brushless

  • +6

Beware that batteries are expensive. A second small battery is $85 on Amazon.
Can you even buy these Bosch green in local shops now?
My old Bosch driver is totally orphaned. I just buy Ozito now.

    • +1

Not worth it then, thanks mate. I got some AEG drills and as tempting as this is, only one battery is the killer.

      • -1

But this deal is $50 cheaper than last one…buy now think later?

        • Instead I will think now about the $99 being used for essential groceries vs having two impact drills while only able to use one.

    • +4

I agree. I've got a few Bosch DIY 18V tools - the oldest is a drill I got in 2009. The Bosch tools have been good, I'm gradually replacing them with Ozito as the both the batteries and tools are so much cheaper. I've found the Ozito tools perfectly adequate for my home DIY use.

  • +5

Be aware this is the poor mans Bosch drill set. What you really want is this one - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/534533. That was one of the best bargains I have ever seen on this site.

    • +3

      I am poor man.

    • This is Ozbargain. The people love Ozito due to price!!

    • Those batteries are a massive weak point… 5.0ah minimum for any 18v brushless tool

  • +2

This or Ozito PXC 18V Compact Drill And Impact Driver Kit with the same price range?

    • +9

I will go for OZITO for it's replacement warranty from bunnings……

      • +5

Also cheaper batteries and better tool selection.

        • I decided to go with the Ozito one, can anyone recommend some decent low cost bits for this drill/driver combo? I don’t own any currently. Use is just for every now and then DIY, will not be used that often to be honest. Hence don’t need something too over the top.

          Thanks in advance!

    • +2

Ozito is a much cheaper ecosystem to buy into

    • I have both sets. The Bosch set is nicer. The Ozitos feel heavy and bulky in comparison. Having said that, the other points about buying into the best eco system could be more important.

  • From reading the comments, if you don't already have a drill (like myself), you should look elsewhere for a better drill?

  • +4

I would just go straight to the bosch blue or just get some ryobi or ozito combo set if you want some cheapo throw away set.

    • I wouldnt classify any of them as throw away, I have four ryobi drills and some bosch and only one is showing signs of age….my ozito is as good as when I got it….only because its pretty average so I never use it.

  • I'm Milwaukee but if I was after cordless drills on a budget, this would be an excellent buy.

  • These aren't brushless are they? In which case Ozito brushless 18V ones at the same price would still be better option IMHO.

    • +5

The $99 PXC kits aren't brushless.

But I still reckon it would be a better buy than the Bosch, it's a better ecosystem to get into.

  • I'll not think twice if it comes with 2 batt for $149
used Bocsh drill drive for many years
bought when Bunnings still sell the green Bocsh
    no issue what so ever

  • +1

Starry Eucalypt Pillow Microfibre Cushion Twin Pack Soft Bed Hotel Home Set- RRP $199.99 LMFA0

  • Max torque 130Nm. Good luck with that.

    • Excellent torque

      • +2

Lowest of all impact drivers for sale as far as i can tell. That extra bit sure helps in difficult situations.

  • Do yourself a favour, stay away from Bosch green and get a pair of bosch blue instead - they are always on sale for around $299 but it’ll save you a visit to the Physio if you do a lot of DIY work

  • +2

Great deal but as others have said in the spirit of buying the right thing I'll save for blue!

  • Got one, thanks

  • and you probably want another battery or 2 if you going want to use both guns at the same time. Which then will cost you another 100-150, so now you are committed to this line of tools. Then you might as well just be buying a better quality tool or bosch blue which have more advance tools and features if you ever want to buy further into the eco system.

    • Well you NEED another battery so one can be charging while you're using the other. Otherwise you're looking at a 4-8 hour downtime waiting on the battery to charge, so you can drill another couple of holes.

      • Hence I said 2 batteries, one on each gun and another on charge. If you only wanted to get one battery then and happy to keep swapping batteries and drill bits, then you might as well just get the drill and don't get the driver.

  • ony for ebay plus members

  • Don't overlook Worx tools, I've got quite a few and they are great. A world apart from the cheap plastic ozito ones.

  • Not as good as the deal with 2 batteries for 200 a while back.

    • Buy two sets from this deal then?

  • Does this battery work with bosch blue tools?

    • nope. Not even the same charger. Other than having the name "bosch" printed on the tool, it's completely different series.

  • these are some ugly drills.

    aren't bosch tools blue?

im a diy'er, i use ozito and they are fantastic for the price. i get them when bunning has a holiday deal. i scored a bunch for fathers day. im not a tradie, and the ozito ecosystem is more then enough for my needs.

i have a makita combo kit impact drill and hammer drill, but other then that, it's all ozito

    • Green = DIY Range
      Blue = Professional Range
