Qantas MEL-BKK from $600 SYD-BKK from $606 on Expedia.ie

320

So Qantas has the flights to Bangkok on sales from Mel & Syd for $799 but when I checked expedia.ie those flights are starting from 476 Euro ($AUD600) ex Mel and 481 Euro ($AUD606) ex Syd. Plus 2-3% conversion fee. 0 if you use no currency conversion fee card. Even with currency conversion fee, its still very cheap for non low cost airlines. Booking class is N.

*** Please note that there is no direct flight from Melbourne and has to go to Sydney first.

According to QF website here is the travel period for $799
15 Jul 2012 to 18 Sep 2012 expires 15 June 2012 or sold out
10 Oct 2012 to 13 Nov 2012 expires 15 June 2012 or sold out
10 Jun 2012 to 21 Jun 2012
02 Feb 2013 to 14 Mar 2013

When booking outside these periods, if not high season, it seems to be like $20 - $50 more still quite cheap. Please double check as I didn't search a lot.

QF also has flights on sale for Singapore $888 on the website but around $700 on expedia.ie.

I booked one and thinking about booking another for next year.

Many thanks to randompunter who posted expedia.ie deals to the US previously.

Please excuse my English. It's not my mothers tongue.

I reckon Alan Joyce is going to cry that no one is booking from Australia and move Qantas to Ireland.

First was to LA now to Bangkok, I want a world trip for $1000 return. Expedia you can do it…….

  • Thanks for the Heads up about the Qantas sale.

  • This is the best website ever :) pity the difference is not that great for y+ or J

    • True. Hoepfully they will put up some nice J airfares to :)

    • QF uses A330 to fly to BKK, not 747 anymore so there is no Y+. I remember Y+ at about 2k was good in the past. (Y used to be 1.2k or so)

Good thing about A330 is its 2-4-2 so there are plenty of 2-seater available making the trip a bit more comfortable.

  • Hey fishy do you use a meta airfare search engine or know of a good one, pain looking up every travel website for fares.

  • booking for 1 adult and 1 child
    1 adult €236,00
    1 child €177,00
    Taxes & Fees €413,03
    Administration Fee €30,00
    Total €856,03

    €856,03= 1,083.63 AUD

  • This is a great deal but has anyone actually not only booked a flight but actually flown using the flights they purchased via Expedia.ie? Hate to book it then be subject to a whole heap of taxes or extras of some kind. Thanks!

  • I can't submit a deal for 24 hours because I just signed up, but just thought I let you know there's a big asian sale announced on lastminute.com.au this afternoon. I've just booked flights Sydney-Mumbai return for $917 on Malaysia Air. I hadn't seen anything good under $1,200 previously (not including a couple around $1,100 with long lay-overs/weird airlines)

  • Hey there ADEX7456 and everyone, I made a successful booking. They do not allow seat selection, however you can put in preference for aisle or window. So I then went to the Qantas web site. Standard Seat selection cost $20 Syd - Bkk or 2,500 frequent flyer miles. and so I selected seats. All seems OK with Qantas website when I put in my booking number and selected seats, and so I expect no problems when I travel. Thanks Fishy, great tip off.

    • Thanks Peck. Have a great trip!

  • All I just booked Feb 8 to 24 2013. 612 with fees. My Commonwealth Mastercard and Amex failed (crap) but my proper amex from amex worked a charm.. Cant wait to gooo (PS going in july for 2 weeks to)

    Taxi to pattaya anyone?

  • For anyone worried about it not working think about this. I have booked years of flights and hotels using expedia.com it doesnt mean I was in USA i just used to use that site.

There should be no issue. Genuine bargain for early next year.
