No specifics and closing down stores don't participate in other specials found on their website.

This is more like a forum topic.

    • What good specials are on there site?

Here we go again… Staff grab all the good stuff, only crap deals, blah, blah…. Hah, hah!

People slagged off the closing down sale at Broadmeadows (Vic), but some of us grabbed $149.00 3Ds consoles 2 weeks into the sale, Asus TF 101 10" tablets for $342.00, 4 pack eneloops for $6.00 and much more. Heaps of bargains if you look around and get stuff scanned as some items are even cheaper when scanned.
    Good luck guys!

    • I did have a quick look at some of those items last weekend. Batteries were only 10% off the standard price and the 3DS/Vita weren't especially cheap. They don't have much of a gaming section in Canberra so if anything drops by much I expect it all to be out pretty quick.

I'll pop in this weekend maybe and see if the prices have dropped any further. Besides movies there wasn't a lot of interest.

  • Wait they are closing down Canberra Centre? They just closed down the one at Garema Place/Interchange a couple years back. So now there will be no DSE in Civic??

    • Or Woden. Or Fyshwick. Not sure about Tuggeranong/Belconnen stores.

      • wow, havent been back for a few years and all the dses are gone? Surely they will keep the Belco one, it just opened right?

      • A new DSE has opened at the refurbished centre near the airport. Tiny store but I guess cheaper rent

        • they're obviously doing well… maybe next year, we'll see them at the Swap meets…

    • Apparently the Civic store is now not going to close. Clearance pricing likely to end on Sunday.

I had a look at North Parramatta and Lidcombe for their closing down deals, found nothing of interest in both cases. In fact, I found that prices of some items were hiked and then 'reduced' by 60%, 75% or whatever they decided. For example, some speaker docks, some mobile phones, old model TV's with ridiculous prices still on them. The only genuine deal I saw was a Uniden radio scanner for approx $38, down from over $100, but I have no use for one.

I guess by not having any genuine deals I saved myself spending any money :)

  • Nothing interesting,, Apparently they are closing down in July, but staff couldn't mention the exact date when I ask em.

The closing down sale in DFO branch was a good one apparently everything were discounted 50-70%. You probably need to wait til last 3days

  • Damnmit The APS people will snag everything before I get there in the last three days of the sale. Maybe I'll go in the morning before work..

I was there today (unexpectedly). Aside from the kids toys (40% off) and random things like audio cable and aerials (also 40% off) the prices weren't great — just closer to parity with other sites/stores/JB sales. 10% off computers, printers, inks etc, 5% off TV's. Ahhh… the future of retailing.

  • its all shit atm…….. 5% off laptops ( u can usually bargain 10%). Only thing that is near 40% is useless items. The tv that i bought there for $200 + 5% of when i used gift card was the sanyo tv 32inch which is currently selling for $300…

  • gosford store has same sale. popped in and picked up a 10m coax cable and splitter for $18. thats 40% off. pretty happy with it being cheaper than ebay

    • Popped into Gosford today, not much left. 50% off console software. I think 50% off gps units. I vented my unhappiness on twitter "paulbrown73au".

  • Was in again today (Monday 18th), same pricing on stock.

Interestingly bought some more AAA rechargables discount applied was 30% not the 20% advertised.

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/S4419/varta-4xaaa-ready2use-… for $13.99
