    • I ordered 3, 1 for me, 1 for my sister and 1 for my parents.

Will I still be able to get 1 set as the multiples will be cancelled?

    • +4

If you read the description and the title in the deal posted by Op clearly states 4x…

Yes, now it might, but last night it clearly stated 8x! It's great that you've rectified the error, but don't go trying to put the blame back on the OP or OzB'ers in general for your mistake…that would be very poor form!

    • +9

Please don't neg his post, I have to give him props for turning up here and letting us know what's going on.

Mr Rep, you do need to address the apparent "delete all accounts" reaction though, that's pretty poor on your part. More than one person has said they can no longer access their account, so what's the reason for that?

We understand that it was a mistake, and that you don't have to honour it, and I for one appreciate that you are going to do what you can for those that ordered.

      • Well said, we all understand that mistakes happen. I think that all anybody really expects is honesty & transparency!

IIRC, last time there was a JJ cock-up, accounts were inaccessible for a period of time until they got themselves sorted…I wouldn't worry too much!

    • +1

the supplier should be able to do a price match http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005ILYG4M $16.81
      or
JJ & your suppliers can buy from amazon for us

  • +2

Hope you're watching Dick Smith. Good time to give us a deal.

I'm relaxed and comfortable about this- alert but not alarmed. It's not like I lost out on a spectacular bargain. I can get an 8 pack on ebay for $21, so even if the deal was honoured, $17.95 is not earthshattering.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SANYO-eneloop-AAA-x-8-NiMH-Rechar…

    • I read in a few places that things like eneloop batteries are often not authentic on eBay - so the cheaper then other stores prices makes me weary.

      • I've bought from Lightnspace, they're ridgey-didge Eneloops alright, just with Korean packaging - kamsamida! :)

4,555 sales, 99.6% positives & no negs related to Eneloops…I reckon that kinda says it all! ;)

  • Dear Rep, so do you think that deleting accounts is the best way to go?
Does that mean that those who bought it aren't welcome/eligible to purchase in your site again?
BTW, I dont believe the shop should cope a loss, just found weird that accounts were deleted altogether.

  • +3

    My Account deleted as well

  • My account still active. Have bought before, didn't just sign up today. Order showing "Pending" status.

    • I created my account today, it's still there with the same status.

  • My account, made today, got deleted as well…

  • Put me down for a refund if unable to honour the $17.95 for 8 (as per my invoice)

  • +2

I am not sure if they have to honour the deal, how much lost they have to cope, especially not very long timeframe until they fix the typo.
And with that amount of money, is it worth it to risk customer satisfaction and company brand name.

  • +3

A lot of negs coming through, but I think we should give them a reasonable amount of time to clarify what will happen. I bought one quite early this morning, and my account has not been deleted.

$17.95 is a great price, but I didn't put it in the 'too good to be true' basket since there are a few deals going for only a few dollars more. I'll wait and see what their response will be.

    • Yep, given that some of the details included the spec 750mAh, I put it down to clearance of older stock (1000x/750mAh) as the newer cells are rated 1500x/800mAh.

      • In the specs (down the page)it say "800mAh, minimum 750mAh. Is this old stock?

        • Nah, just usual JJ typos I reckon…specs/details are usually all over the shop! ;)

  • My account is still there

  • Hopefully we will see someone do a 8pack of AAA soon as im after some :)

  • my account still there
    and status says pending…
hopefully junglejumble will honor their mistake and workout something with the supplier :)

Bought a 4 pack from Jungle Jumble from a deal on ozbargain last time. Delivery was quick but they sent me 8 (two separate packages of 4). Being the honest fella that I am, I called them up and pointed out the mistake. They asked me to return and they will pay me $5 for the postage. I spent my Saturday morning in the post office line and returned it to them. No refund of postage for me came. Emails after this not returned and I'm out of pocket. Lesson learnt for next time is to keep quiet.

    • Yeah that's pretty shonky, you do the right thing and get screwed. Maybe the rep, if they ever come back, could address this for you, right a wrong.

Assuming they were willing at the time to lose $5, another option might have been to offer them to you at $5 off, just keep them and pay the reduced price.

If it had of been me, I would have thanked you for your honesty and told you to just keep them.

    • Sucks you got screwed over for doing the right thing.

Big neg to JungleJumble for ignoring your emails.
      Bad customer service sucks.

    • +4

There's a wise old saying, "No good deed goes unpunished!"

    • Great customer service!

  • Wasted a week checking my PayPal account for the refund, only to be disappointed…

  • +2

If you're not going to carry forth the deal, fine. But we still lawfully reserve the right to a refund

  • +2

They have been back on, but didn't post anything. It's not looking good.

    An update would be nice.

just talked to a guy on the phone at junglejumble, he said if they cant get the batteries at that price they will automatically refund the price :)

    • +2

They better do it quick!. Still not happy about the account deleted, but that's another story.

      • i also lost my account and never got an invoice, weird but ill be alright if they just honour the purchase.

  • I'm guessing they will end up with the refund option as the most likely scenario

    • If you paid by paypal you will not get the full ammount. They will still take there cut even on a refund. It happend to me a few weeks back.

  • +3

I am banning this JJ website for life, mainly because they delete the accounts and dont reply to any of the messages. I dont mind their typo and refund. At least keep us inform of what's going on. Sayonara JJ, may be you belong in the jungle after all.

Hi Foobar, Thank you for the straight minded response.

Firstly, I can empathise with the concerns raised here regarding deleted accounts but it's just not the case. All order and account information is intact and has certainly not been deleted for any untoward reasons.

A bug in our Paypal gateway, prevented the actual creating of accounts when returning back to our website from the paypal checkout screen. This is a known bug with the Magento System (our e-commerce engine) as documented here http://www.jnorton.co.uk/blog/magento-14x-paypal-express-gue… (for those who doubt us). This BUG has now been rectified by our developer; meaning, any new accounts and orders created after around 2.30pm today will get the correct confirmation detail.

REST ASSURED: Your order IS STILL current and recorded in our system. This can also be verified by logging into paypal and viewing the payment made to us. An invoice number is included in the payment details which is current and matches the order details on our system.

    • +6

Not sure if you're insulting me there or not, some of my other posts were a bit more coherent than my last, perhaps you're referring to those.

Anyway, thanks for getting back to us and letting everyone know about the issue regarding the accounts, I'm sure you can understand that given what has happened today, why people thought you were deleting accounts. They join, place and order for something that turns out to be a pricing error, and bam, account appears to be gone. It's not a great leap for most to make to conclude their account was deleted to cover or remove all traces of the pricing error.

I guess I speak for the majority that placed orders when I say I look forward to hearing how your negotiations with your supplier go, hopefully you'll be able to supply at or near the price that was incorrectly listed.

I would like to bring to your attention another post here - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71839?page=1#comment-899821 - this poster says they were accidentally sent two of these instead of one some time back, being honest and in possession of a conscience, they contacted your company who said to send it back and they would provide him with $5 for doing so.

He was honest enough to bring the error to your attention, mail back the item at HIS expense (both monetary and time), yet received nothing to compensate him for his honorable actions and expense in returning the item to you. He did make further efforts to contact you via email, none of which you replied to.

I'm sure if you require further details from this person in order to jog a few memories, they'll be all to happy to provide them for you. Even though they seem to have written this poor experience off, here is your chance to finally make it right for them.

      • Thanks for the mention. Although $5 is not a lot of money, it was the principal that counts. I thought that by doing the right thing that JJ would do the same in return as they promised. I don't think they would have anticipated how much $5 bad publicity is worth.

        • It certainly shines a light on them that isn't flattering. It'll be very disappointing if the rep doesn't address this situation.

      • Foobar,

Firstly, no insult in that last post, Just respect. We really appreciate those here who have the time to consider their posts, ask questions before jumping to conclusions which are more often than not so completely wrong. On your second point, I personally cannot recall any conversations with anyone regarding a $5 refund for an erroneous order. One thing I can say with certainty is we have not received batteries back from anyone. If the person in question wishes to follow this up with us, they can always call us on 1300 11 99 15, quote their name so we can look up any associated notes and emails and take immediate action. Without a name or email address i'm afraid I really cant help the individual in question, nor verify this complaint.

        • It is easy to overreact and post in haste, I know I've been guilty of it in the past and I can't blame those that believed their accounts had been deleted for doing the same under the circumstances.

Have there been any developments regarding the supply of the batteries? It would be great if you were able to supply everyone that ordered with at least one set of two packs, and as you've said, reduce those that ordered multiples down to just one set of two packs. Hopefully your supplier will come to the party just this once and help you guys out.

With regards to the poster that got their order twice and returned the one they were sent in error without being compensated, they will see what you've posted and I guess it's up to them if they wish to follow up as you've suggested so I'll leave that one alone from now on. Their story sounds very believable, it's not the sort of thing anyone would just make up for the hell of it so I wanted to bring it to your attention as it sounds like something that should be corrected.

Please keep the thread updated with progress or even non progress, better to hear something that lets us all know that you're still working on it over silence.

        • Have called the 1300 number provided. Rep has confirmed there is a note that I called up and told them about duplicate package from the deal in Dec 2011. They were apparently moving premises at the time and have no record of receiving the return duplicate and I didnt send it registered mail. Can vouch that I sent it at Drummoyne NSW post office and happy to provide a statutory declaration to that effect. Not required though as the Rep said that he would fix me up through PayPal.

        • Have now received my $5 postage refund after calling, so pretty quick service in that respect. I had already written it off previously before this deal gave it a new lease of life. Thanks to all, especially Foobar for his/her encouragement. That's all from me as a side player for this deal.

        • That's great news, glad to have been of some help. As they were moving, maybe that's why they weren't answering phones or email at the time, just bad timing. Still, email doesn't just vanish from servers, someone had to have gotten them at some time but maybe there was a backlog and they got overlooked.

Whatever the case, 6 months down the track it's finally fixed. Kudos to JJ for getting there eventually!

    • If you don't know if you are going to fulfill the orders, and more likely than not you aren't going to, why have you made the debit on Paypal transactions?

    • Ordered this morning at 6am, unable to access my account…..any update for those of who ordered bedore 2.30pm?

  • +1

ordered as soon as i saw the deal, it looked realistic and not to be a pricing error. the item pictured was a 4 pack, but the title and my INVOICE says 8 pack. i ordered two. i hope this is fulfilled, or i receive a full refund, otherwise off to the ACCC i go! i can get a credit card rebate through a dispute, but a detailed explanation to my bank will surely be troublesome for junglejumble.

do the right thing, given that the price wasn't totally unrealistic given that DSE had 8 packs for $20, and honour orders that went through.

either that or get out of the retail game.

    • +1

You'll find that to their credit, these guys are prompt with refunds; Paypal, on the other hand, may hang onto it for a little while before handing it back! ;)

  • Any news yet?

  • no news at all

OK Folks, sorry about the delay in getting back to you.

In the next hour, emails will be sent to everyone who ordered batteries as a result of this error.

We CAN NOT honor a deal for 8x AA Eneloops. The deal was NOT posted by us, nor endorsed by us and was the result of nothing more than human error.

Anyone who does not wish to take advantage of $17.95 Delivered for a 4 pack of Eneloop AAs can instantly obtain a refund by calling us on (local) 1300 11 99 15 or emailing us here: [email protected].

Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

    • Just emailed you for cancellation

      • Done.

    • We CAN NOT honor a deal for 8x AA Eneloops.

AAA deal ok then? Sweet :P

      • Correct you are. Thanks for the clarification

        • So this not the case, just to clarify the orders for 8 AAA Eneloop for $17.95 is alltogether cancelled is this correct

    • that's crap.. You should just cancel and refund automatically! Our account is not there, money is with you.. And you want to waste us more time to send you cancellation email and wait for you to process!? Very very bad customer service.

EDIT : didn't want to -ve your comment, coz that will mean people cannot see it and I cannot -ve this deal, since I vote +ve already… But a big -ve in spirit!!!!

      • -5

Trouble is, many people DID actually want the 4 pack and were aware of the error or at least made the effort to call and inquire before they placed an order. Refunds will be processed within 1hr of receiving your email, instantly if you call us.

        • +3

So you are saying there are people just wanted 4 pack when 8 pack is stated in the invoice? LOL.. Good one.

      • +2

Agreed, it's safe to assume that anyone that did order will NOT want to pay for 4 what they thought they were paying for 8. Orders should be canceled and credited by JJ, not by us.

If anyone does want to go forward, they can simply reorder.

Edit: Your post wasn't there when I was writing mine. Fair enough, email cancellation it is.

        • Actually it is a little more complicated than that, the description was changed at 9am yesterday and people were still ordering with the description change. Now some of these people were buying the 4 pack with the knowledge of the price and we can't decipher which is which without a confirmation from the customer.

All orders requesting a refund that were placed via credit card have not been charged to date.
All orders requesting a refund that were placed via paypal are ready for instant refund back to their provided paypal account.

All we request is a confirmation back from the email sent to everyone concerned, or a phone call if easier, and the funds will be returned.

        • So all orders before 9am will be automatically canceled?

        • Ok, I emailed through my cancellation request prior to getting your email, I paid by CC so there's nothing to refund so long as you process my cancellation. I guess I'll email again as I didn't follow what you asked, emailed too early.

Also, I did edit my post above to reflect that I had read yours, as I was composing it you posted yours so I didn't get a chance to see it beforehand.

        • 2 hours ago "Trouble is, many people DID actually want the 4 pack and were aware of the error or at least made the effort to call and inquire before they placed an order. Refunds will be processed within 1hr of receiving your email, instantly if you call us."

        • See my post just below yours, posted 1 minute after you posted yours?

I was composing that while you were posting yours, when I pressed reply your post did not exist, so I did not see yours until after. I could have edited it all away but decided to leave it and add to it that I had seen yours AFTER I posted mine.

See where I put "Edit: Your post wasn't there when I was writing mine. Fair enough, email cancellation it is."

I was, at that point, confirming that I had seen what you posted, but only after I had made my post. Your reply to the post seems to indicate that you read some but not all, as if you had read all you need not have replied.

        • Replying to post so it cannot be edited.

        • +1

Not sure exactly what is the problem. If the description is 4 for $17.95 after 9am, surely that is what they bought. However, those before 9am bought 8 AAA, as per description and invoice.

    • quote "Anyone who does not wish to take advantage of $17.95 Delivered for a 4 pack of Eneloop AAs"
what advantage? $17.95 for 4 lousy AA battery? Advantage of being ripoff yet again.

Edited - Mod: Removed personal attack from comment

      • -3

Im sorry, you can find a better CURRENT deal? And the last time we "Ripped" you off?

  • -1

and the refund will come in how many days? weeks?

    • As mentioned above - "Refunds will be processed within 1hr of receiving your email, instantly if you call us."

      • +1

I just got my refund, took around 45 minutes.

      • +1

Refund all orders and then let those who wanted a 4 pack to reorder.

  • Got a quick refund- much ado about nothing- onwards! That reminds me- must take batteries out of charger.

  • +1

    I got my refund.
Took about 30-40 mins after my call.

I have bought stuff from junglejumble before
and would have no problems dealing with them again.

  • Look at JJ trying to hold onto the orders with the excuse that some people did want to order a 4 pack. Just refund all orders and let the people who really wanted them to reorder them.

I am looking forward to raising the paypal dispute. If enough of us do it JJ's paypal account will be suspended for a period of time.

People check your paypal invoice and make sure it says for 8 units and not 4. JJs knowledge of the mistake is now public record on this thread.

REFUND ALL BY DEFAULT JJ !!!!

    • +3

There's no need to be malicious over what was a mistake, they are handling the matter the way they believe is best, however it would be interesting to know just how many people did want the 4 pack for 17.95 when the dust settles.

      • +2

Nobody from around here I bet.

    • Just refund all orders and let the people who really wanted them to reorder them.

I don't think that's the way to go - it's not fair on those who really wanted the item to have their orders mysteriously cancelled.

I think rep is doing his best to rectify the situation. Rep's request for those that want to cancel to inform the store is fair. He can't easily tell which orders came as a result of this thread, or which orders are from customers that are OzBargainers.

JungleJumble's prices for eneloops have always been competitive, and i don't think it's a surprise that people would order 4 AAA's for $17.95. It may not be the absolute cheapest but there are other stores selling for $20+.

      • +1

hmm.. maybe I'm a bit out of touch and spoiled by DS 8AA for 20 bucks sale.. I really didn't think 4 AAA for 17.95 is a competitive price..

So rep. please clarify how long does this grace period ends before you ship? I'm more worry on people that didn't check their email after purchase. I hope rep will offer free return?

        • Certainly Tae. To those who don't get their email, we will certainly pay for return postage. We're not interested in making others pay for our mistake. That has always been our policy.

        • +1

That settles it then.. Thanks rep.
Now please post some good bargain here soon to cover your mistake(sorry can't help it.. this is ozb afterall).. ^_^

      • I tend to dissagree with you, moocher. If JJ wanted to be fair, it could have cancelled directly all the orders for which the system issued an invoice for 8-packs and contact the users who had invoices for 4-packs to ask if they still want to proceed with the order. The invoices for 8-packs were wrong and JJ cannot send 4-packs to someone that paid for 8-packs and somehow missed the email from JJ asking for order cancellation.

        • As mentioned before there are many who ordered the product under the 8 pack product name, and called us to confirm the deal IS actually for a 4 pack. Some cancelled their orders, many did not, of those, a number decided to change their order to 8 pack for $27.95 delivered which IS the cheapest price in Australia for 8x eneloop Australian Stock at the moment.

Please guys, genuine counter claims only. The statement is $27.95 for AUSTRALIAN ENELOOPS. Not Chinese, Korean etc.

        • be careful, JJ. If some people want to screw you over, they won't cancel the order for which they have an invoice for 8-packs and then, when they receive 4 packs, they will open a paypal dispute asking for refund as the products are not as described in the tax invoice.

        • And for that, we will have to wear it.

Edit: I would hope the number of honest people here far outweighs the malicious ones who wish to punish us for a simple mistake.

        • Hi, I sent a email yesterday requesting to cancel my order, but still havn't hear from you. So could you help? My order No is 100005738. I cannot log on to my account because your "Paypal" issue.

        • All sorted now. Check your paypal account.

        • We will resend the email again tomorrow to those that haven't replied

        • "Many….called…" Bullshit.

  • Do you get very wide variations in the level your rechargables charge to? I put two identical AAAs in my charger this morning. They had been used in the same device. One of them charged to about 780mah hours ago- about what I expect. The other one is still going and its now at 1226mah.

That happens most times I charge multiple batteries in the Lacrosse charger.

I thought it was maybe just a whacky chamber on the charger, but I've tested and it's not dependent on the chamber.

Is the charger giving me false readings? is it possible to get 1200+ mah into an old AAA?

    • They are only rated as 550mah.

      • Now at 1333 mah

        • -1

          1412mah

        • 1516mah

        • 1639mah

        • Probably faulty batteries.
