Tempted. Also wouldn't mind the soldering iron too so the full kit for $150 seems ok.

But I have a mains powered rotary tool and soldering iron and both only get used about once a month max lol.

    • hehe, I was in the market for a corded one since I rarely use it too, been borrowing my old mans, but at this price, worth getting my own. My corded soldering iron is used a few times a year (-:

  • Would Dremmel accessories be compatible with this rotary tool or are they universal?

    • +2

When I was researching people said Dremel bits fit in other rotary tools, and WORX say it takes universal bits, so I'm assuming it can.

      • Cheers. Recently purchased a Dremel and it's the first rotary tool I've owned.

If you have use for the air brush, soldering iron & heat gun, yes.

    • I paid $200 for the kit in June. Haven't used it yet, but they at least look alright and delivery was pain free.

That kit does look better value.

Dumb question but can the soldering iron be used for electronics? Marketing mentions using it for wood burning and other craft activities as opposed to electronics soldering. Do you need special tips?

    • The silver tip shown in the marketing image looks like it'll work for electronics, and at 480c max temp, it should allow enough heat to melt solder. If you are doing electrics (thicker wires) some of the engraving tips look thicker for this job.

    • Seems fine for soldering electronics and includes multiple tips.

  • Thanks ~ bought 1 from Amazon

  • Will Aldi batteries work with this? I think they might be similar? Or maybe I can get an adapter?

Just use the Ozito one = https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-rotary-to…?

Have one here and it's ok enough. Has the motor in the battery base and transmits the rotation via a flexible shaft. kids love it

That one is $79 with battery, so more expensive if you also get the accessories pack and go over the $99 free delivery offer. Or buy from eBay and pay no delivery.

True…..really depends on if you want to buy into whichever ecosystem!

The advantage is that Worx uses the same batteries as Toolpro, Rockwell and JCB, so you can mix and match skins and batteries.

Supercheap always has some good end of line Toolpro skins on clearance
