Same deal is available for prime members at Amazon AU using code "FTV40AUG22" for those interested.

    • It's better - no shipping (if you have prime)

      • The offer is only available to Prime members, so it's Free Delivery.

        • Yep, that's what I meant. So amazon deal is better for prime members who want it shipped

    • Bought one with Prime. Tired of my Chromecast (which isn't ultra HD or the new one).

    Inb4:
    * What is this?
    * I already have a "smart TV" do I need this?
    * How does this compare to Chromecast?
    * How does this compare to AppleTV?
    * What's the difference between versions?
    * Can I cook my food using this Fire?

      • Converts any TV to Amazon's android TV
      • Depends on your smart TV. I got LG but I still use this for sideloading apps such as YouTube without ads and Retroarch for retrogaming. You don't need this if you have an Android TV.
      • Way better than the older Chromecast. On par with the new one. Cheaper than Chromecast but it doesn't support the Android Play store.
      • No idea about Apple TV. Don't think it would be any better or worse. Depends on your personal circumstances, i.e. whether you're an Apple person or not.
      • Memory, Processor, Storage, Capabilities for Dolby/Codecs, etc. 4K Max is the best among other variants.
      • Hell nop but cooking videos available on YouTube without ads… 😬
  • can you use perks voucher for this?

  • Does the live TV channels app work on these yet?

    • +1

      Yes. Via Kodi + addon

      • Thanks but that's not really what I was after.
I have Kodi running for TV but have been hoping for a simpler method, similar to how the vodafone TV and Chromecast Google TV do it.

        • Vodafone tv has an aerial input, Chromecast does not

          • @Droz: I use the vodafone TV with the live channels app without an antenna, using iptv.
I was hoping there was a way to do the same with the firestick but for now the only way so far is kodi with iptv.

    Can they still be modded?

    • Define modded. Sideload apps? That's not modding.

      • What ever it was they were complaining about with people selling sticks for piracy or something along those lines

  • Were the codes sent out in a email or something

    • Got mine with my last delivery. Was in the box.
