For those who missed out on this tablet a week ago can pick it up again on sale. Unfortunately the exchange rate at this time is still pretty bad and the Lenovo tablet prices have gone up compared to several months ago, however it's still a good buy in my opinion. Alternatively the P11 Plus is on sale for a cheaper price.

Featuring Android 11 with Google Play, 11.5" 2.5K OLED 500nits Dolby Vision Display, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable), Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G CPU with Adreno 618 GPU, 8400mAh battery with quick charge, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13MP/5MP Rear Camera, 8MP Front Camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Pogo Pins for keyboard case, USB-C with video out and PC Mode.

For reviews Techtablets covers everything with no 3.5mm audio jack being a downside, while ETA Prime shows off the gaming/emulation capabilities.

Request to android OEMs… Plz release a mini tablet with high end specs

  • I've never bought from AliExpress so a noob question - does the device come in English language out of the box, or do do you have to reset something? (And btw, it says Android 10 at the link.)

    • +1

      It should ask on setup.

    • +1

I just bought the SD870 version. Could setup and use all in english. Also reflashed chinese ROM (with instructions from XDA) and its getting all the updates.

      • So, do you not get updates if you don't reflash the ROM?

    • I recently got the non-pro version it comes in English out of the box but some things to be aware of. Some apps require authentication specifically in our instance Netflix. There is an easy fix for it, but it's annoying that it doesn't work(update) out of the box.

Also; Updated to Android 11 when it turned on and running smooth.

So bad that St.George has given up

  • This seems Iike an absolutely phenomenal tablet for the money.

Very tempted - how easy did people find getting official accessories? Interested in perhaps the cover and the 'pressure pen'

  • AU $388.32
    for me ?

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate,

USD converted to AUD via Mastercard. Basically if you have a card without currency conversion fees, then you set your AliExpress currency to USD, pay with PayPal and when selecting the card, ensure you click "See currency options" and bill the card in USD. Then you'll get the exchange rate or very close.

Set AliExpress to AUD or let PayPal do the conversion and you'll get an inflated rate. The USD price does not fluctuate.

  • Lenovo's screen is poor

  • This or mi pad 5 for extra $70?

    • mipad more powerful but no video out
supposedly better rom support but been out for 3 months and still no dev

    • Where are you seeing mi pad 5 for extra $70?

  • Can this format to a windows 10 tablet?

    • I don't think so, but maybe Linux.

Amazon ipad deal better at 399

    • -2

Probably right, but it has a smaller screen.

    • +4

It's not Android so it's not better. Of course that's subject to opinion.

      • -4

the a13 SOC is more than 2x faster than 730g

        • That's not the OS.

          • -2

@Clear: When did android devices get more expensive with slower SOCs compared to IOS lol…

            • +3

@mrvaluepack: When people started struggling to read deals. Bad exchange rate.

Besides it's not all about speed. Can the iPad run Android? No.

    • +4

It's simple. Get the device that works better for you.

      I want to;
      1. Develop android tablet applications (this is the main one that makes an iPad a non-starter, lol)
      2. Use it with an external monitor
      3. Use it to stream using steam link to a television or the tablet itself (@4k ). The iPad cannot do this
      4. Block YouTube ads in the app (this is much more difficult on apple devices)
      5. Take notes using the Precision Pen 2 that I already own for another device
      6. Download more content with the 128gb of storage for flights
      7. Expand said storage with an SD card
      8. Run emulated games

Therefore this makes more sense to me

      • -3

exept the ipad can literally do all of that

        • +1

You're the second person who struggles to read lol

@Clear: Thanks, I wasn't even going to entertain that reply haha
Thanks for the deal post btw. Very excited to get this tablet

  • Is there an OzB Bingo for these?

Just wondering if they will run apps with local content e.g. iView and other catchup TV apps

  • What's best for just YT, movies etc (no netflix). This with the OLED screen, or the P11 Plus with IPS?

    • Oled

      • thks, could you elaborate a little, is it clearer, or…?

        • +2

Darker blacks. Go into a tv store and compare oled with any other tv

        • +1

OLED has inkier blacks, as the pixels don’t have a backlight element.

The benefit is battery life, you can get 5-10% longer screen time in a head to head by lowering the screen brightness.

There are also 90/120hz/144hz OLED panels too.

You definitely need to check a review before buying any tablet, because there’s a ton of quality issues with tablets that come up.

the big list of downsides is OLED flicker which affects different people, Essentially the light pulses below 10% brightness depending on the screen, which you might notice or not.

Black smearing, which isn’t very common with AMOLED, but it’s where you have faint image retention or tinges of yellow/green/brown pixels instead of a single uniform colour, that aren’t entirely turned off in a dark mode when it switches to full-black or grey/black, near black or full black.

It looks like a smearing or messy dark grey instead of an even white/grey/black screen.

or you get screen tearing / wobble aka Jelly Scrolling when scrolling in landscape/portrait.The “solution” to jelly scrolling is to read websites sideways… or get a different tablet :( because it’s not something that you can easily fix.

Cheaper OLED panels have all of these issues. Even Apple and Samsung have them.

  • First android devices I've had that I couldn't bust wide-open at XDA. Would love to get Lineage or something vanilla on it. That said, it's still fine without. Don't have Netflix but Dolby Vision working via Plex.

  • Can anyone confirm if this is Android 10 or 11. @Clear says 11 but listing shows 10. Maybe it upgrades out of the box.

    • +1

      Upgrades

  • I can't decide between OLED or the IPS on the Plus. It'll only be used at night for movies, youtube etc. The Pad Plus may get Android 12 whereas this likely won't being an older release. Other than that there's bugger all in it. What say ye'?

    • I've got the same use case and pulled the trigger on the P11 Plus :-) Love the side-upgrade and price point

      • +1

yep, just did the same. 👍

  • The first code isn't working

    • Looks like it has been all used up. I just checked incognito.
