On sale again is this previously popular Lenovo tablet. Unfortunately it's not as cheap as last time since all the AliExpress sellers have raised their prices on Lenovo tablets, but for an extra ~A$20 I still think it's good value if you're looking to buy.

Featuring Android 11 with Google Play, 11.5" 2.5K OLED 500nits Dolby Vision Display, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable), Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G CPU with Adreno 618 GPU, 8400mAh battery with quick charge, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13MP/5MP Rear Camera, 8MP Front Camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Pogo Pins for keyboard case, USB-C with video out and PC Mode.

For reviews Techtablets covers everything with no 3.5mm audio jack being a downside, while ETA Prime shows off the gaming/emulation capabilities.

Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 coming out soon

    • Xiaoxin Pad 2022 already out but no Global ROM yet unlike this one. Besides the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 will cost significantly more given it'll have a Snapdragon 870 like the P12 Pro that goes for $999 on sale in Australia.

      • Ah my bad just did a quick XDA search and misread it. I don't know about that, would have thought it'd be closer to Mi Pad 5 in terms of pricing. Pad 5 has an 860 and was around ~$430 AUD delivered on Ali? ROM is a bit of a problem but would assume it'll be good in a month or two.

        • Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro with the SD870 goes for around US$450 / A$640 so I'd expect the price range to be similar.

          • @Clear: why no rom? just targetting chinese market?

  • Anyone with one of these, how do you rate it performance wise? Not expecting Ipad or Samsung S8 levels. My old Hauwei Mediapad M3 is long past due for an upgrade. Was considering the Xiaomi Pad 5 but if this is close performance wise always happy to save $50 extra.

Got one of the p11 pro been using for about a month and it is smooth, lag free when swiping etc and love it so far…came from an iPad Air and much prefer the p11 pro over it. Given how good it is for the price I’ll never look at Samsung or apple again ..

  • This would s*** all over a streamdeck for use with flightsims etc. Oled would be amazing for a panel in a night flight. Double up as a race car dashboard. Hell Might get 3 of them

    • I have the pad pro 2021 (or whatever it is called) and the oled is really bad. It flickers on very low light scenes and I see a grey wash instead of black or something like that.

Screen is great on bright scenes and overall

  • I predicted it is a clear's post when I saw the deal on tablet before reading who posted the deal.

    • +5

It's been a disappointing month for tablet sales. I predict next month will be better. Chinese OEMs are starting to release Android 12 tablets except the ones so far have bad hardware.

      • I'm looking to get a tablet before mid-October. Should I jump on this or wait for something a bit better?

Main use would be watching media and perhaps light gaming/PPSSPP emulation.

        • +1

Emulation this will be no problem. As for media do you plan on Netflix?

          • @Clear: Netflix but mainly Plex and media downloaded from my server for internet-less playback.

Would mainly be used for travel on flights if anything. I have wireless headphones.

            • +3

@SnowDragon: The only gotcha would be making Netflix work as there's a few steps though there may already be an OTA update to fix it. Other downside is the pentile OLED display doesn't display blacks the best and text not looking as sharp up close. Otherwise it's a good tablet.

      • i only use them to watch videos, for a 400$ budget, is this one the best choice?

        • Does that include Netflix?

@Clear: Only fans of horn pub

          • @Clear: no just youtube

            • @Hornpub: Yep fine for that. It won't go past 1080p in the app though.

              • @Clear: wait why it wont pass FHD, my s6 lite can watch select 4k on native youtube app.

  • How do I get the Lenovo keyboard cover with one of these P11s? Coming from a Surface Go with its kickstand cover keyboard setup but soooo over Windows.

    • +1

You can get an original off Aliexpress for about $113~ after GST. It's the same keyboard case model for both the 2020 and 2021 11 Pro.

Took a look a few weeks back and thought:
..Nevermind, like the surface it'll be broken or obsolete in a few years better to invest in a proper bluetooth keyboard and just slap a normal case on it.

  • Can someone please recommend tablet for kid - age 4 years?
Is this one be alright? its mainly to be used for watching YouTube etc. during travel.

    • +1

This is way over-specced for a 4yo watching youtube. Check out some of the cheap tablets posted by Clear or watch ebay for some of the cough free cough lenovo tablets that pop up.

    • The issue for a 4 year old will be the size, my kid is also 4 and the 8 inch mi pad pro becomes uncomfortable for her to hold after a while.

  • How does this compare with Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets, especially S6 and S7? I guess I can google it…

  • Is Snapdragon 730 a good cpu?

    • Depends what you doing on the tablet. For media consumption. It's plenty for it. For emulation gaming. It may do. For higher end gaming. Perhaps not.

  • Bought from the last deal.. great tablet for the kids

  • @Clear how does the p11 plus compare to this pro?

    • +1

I like to call it a sidegrade. When it comes to the ROM sellers normally load the 5G version as that received a global release, while the global non-5G model uses an inferior MediaTek CPU.

The main difference is that that this has an upgraded Snapdragon 750G CPU and Adreno 619 GPU offering better performance. It uses an 11" IPS panel instead of a pentile OLED panel so it won't have the issue of blurry text up close (some say it's not noticeable) like in the Pro 2020 and Pro 2021 tablets. The battery has also been decreased from 8400mAh to 7700mAh.

      • Thanks! I have a P11 pro and don't have an issue with blurry text, the oled looks great to me and anyone that uses it. though looking at picking up a second one
