This month's AliExpress coupons that apply on "Selected Items" only. Unfortunately the only way to check if a product is "Selected" is by trying to apply the coupon. If the product didn't work last month then there's a good chance it won't work this month. It can also take a couple of days for sellers to make their products eligible with these codes.

Currency in USD. Coupons are 1 per order, minimum spend excludes GST and shipping.

I spent $60 USD which was $94 aud, theny dont deduct anything plus when you use voucher the same amount is added into tax, i dont think so that tax is handed over to australian authorities. They normally tax you for online services as well which is code and rely on VPN, nothing to do with shipping to Australia.

So its all 40,000 theives on Aliexpress.

    • Two accounts?

    • +6

To be clear, I've had a few bad experiences with a couple sellers on Aliexpress, but the rest have been great.

I don't think you can generalise 40,000 sellers as thieves.

Also shouldn't make a statement that tax isn't handed to the ATO without backing that up with evidence.

        Two accounts?

I don't think you can generalise 40,000 sellers as thieves.

The 40(k) thieves is a nod to the classic "Ali Baba and the 40 thieves" tale from One Thousand and One Nights, from which practically all "Ali Baba" draw their name/inspiration.

@SuperMrBlob: To suggest sajidmib and/or I are sockpuppeting, is to air your literary ignorance at a reference they understood.

@Ausdave: I can't speak for sajidmib, but I was taking literary license based on a number of terrible AliExpress experiences.

        • +3

          I learned something today hey.

          Thanks the clarification

My bank statements say "Aliexpress Melbourne", so I guess there is a locally registered company that pays taxes.

  • Would this potentially stack with store specific/item specific discounts?
I’ve never really purchased much off aliexpress but recently saw an interested item have a small discount/coupon

    • +1

Yes. The store coupons that you see available under a price of a product, as well as seller discounts will stack with these codes.

  • +1

anyone noticed the prices on aliexpress has gone up for a lot of things by quite a big margin?
was looking for a over sink dish rack and they are like over $100 on aliexpress, whereas I found something similar on ebay for around half the price!

    • +5

Pretty much depends on what you're buying. Things that are bulky/difficult to ship have a pretty big mark up and you're better off getting locally at times.

      • yea definitely agree

    • +1

All the goods offered are done so in US dollars. Our dollar has dropped by around 10% this year against the US$ so accordingly many things are costing more. Bring back the days when our dollar was being traded one for one and stuff from China was cheap as. Then factor in how the Chinese standard of living is closing in on that of the western world. At one time they'd sell an item for a dollar profit because a dollar in yuan could buy a takeaway meal, but it can't anymore.

The only knock I have with Aliexpress is the looooooong wait time for deliveries.

    • +1

I had an order from July 18 arrive yesterday ;)

    • +2

I'm getting most items in around 2 weeks now with all the combined shipping they do. They did get really bad during covid but recent orders have been much better if getting a few items at once, they bundle them into 1 bag and ship it faster.

    • +2

It's not that bad these days. Most orders are coming to me within 2-3 weeks.

      • How come some of you have shorter wait times? I'm still waiting for one to arrive which I have ordered on June 16 and I thought bundling that with another order would do the trick that they will be be sent out together but instead, one arrived after 5 weeks and the one is still a no-show.

    • I swore to never use Aliexpress again after 3 orders in a row took 2-3 months and 1 order never arriving.

Have had to use it to order some car accessories I can't get elsewhere and they have all been arriving within 10-14 day window.

  • I just ignore these little codes from Aliexpress now. Never had one work.

    • Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

      • A venture with no profit is a venture spent in vain.

    • +1

Yep I've got US$66 in my cart and not even the $3 code works.

  • Are these codes live now? I tried and it said that "We don't recognize this promo code. Have another try."

    • +2

They're partially live. Can take a day or 2 for everything to be updated. Otherwise your product isn't eligible.

    • +1

it's only for 'selected items' you will never find them.

  • Any suggestions for rechargeable bike lights?

    • +1

I just do a search for "highest orders" then read some reviews.
I already had a good torch so just bought these. They work great.

  • +1

Wasn’t their a code tracking website for all these types of sites eg banggood, AliExpress etc where you could search a particular item and it would tell you potential codes for that item? I remember it was a bit hit and miss but good starting point

  • Does anyone know if they ever have coupons for something ~$900?

    • +1

No never. Best coupon I've ever received for being a Diamond/Platinum member is US$30 off US$200.

      • Thank you

      • I'm a Diamond member but have never received any coupons, is there something that needs activating?

        • +1

May have been a bday coupon. In the app go to Account, then tap your name to enter the member area. It had popped up there previously.

  • Sorry I screwed up. I had the coupons as 7AUG when they should have been 8AUG. Confirmed to be now working.

Recently I ordered Eufy cameras & they never arrived (the low price should have sounded alarm bells). When I tried to recover the $110 the seller was long gone & it was "claimed" the items had been received so no refund.

Be very wary of AliExpress - many dodgy sellers. I've watched a few similar sellers recently, very low prices, no feedback & they are removed generally within hours so don't jump on seemingly great bargains. Just wait a while!

productrewiews.com shows the true story about AliExpress.

    • +3

So did PayPal knock back your dispute?

    • +2

Are you saying you purchased from a seller with no feedback? No wonder. OzBargain for example doesn't permit sellers with less than 95.1% feedback based on a minimum of 100 seller ratings. It's fairly difficult to get your score down to 95% so you generally avoid anything lower.

productrewiews.com shows the true story about AliExpress.

      Same for OzBargain

    • l. I thought the funds don’t get released to the merchant until the customer indicates that the item’s been received? At least this has been my experience.

      • Correct. However it is possible for sellers to confirm an order if the tracking show it has delivered. It's only happened to me once before.

  • +1

Ok AliExpress have finished pushing through the codes so they'll be applicable to a lot more products now.

  • Been lucky with AE for the last six orders. Everything appeared to be coming from UCL (warehouse?) in Alexandria.

Just be careful buying stuff from AliExpress - as buyer your warranty only 90days, I had purchase phone charger that the led no longer working after 5 months. No warranty after 90 days
