I saw on Amazon.co.uk that they have really good deals (compared to normal prices) on 3D Blu-Rays. I got Immortals (2011) 3D Blu for ~AU$13.80 (shipped); also Transformers 3 3D Limited Set, How to Train Your Dragon (more Dreamworks animation also available at the cheaper prices), and Thor 3D were only ~AU$25 (Prices are around AU$35-50 locally).

No. The US does as well. And probably everywhere else.
The thing with 3D is you get an extra disc with the movie in 3D, and still get the 2D disc. So if you have a friend who doesn't have 3D and only wants the 2D, you could give the disc to them, since you get two copies of the same movie. Also, you get a DVD disc of the movie and digital copy with it as well, so that's four copies in the package. Not bad value if you wanted that many copies.
3D movies usually come on four discs.
