Noodles are actually decent. Lightyears ahead of Maggi and quite a bit better than Indomie Mi Goreng (imo, which I still love btw)

      They're bigger packs too.

  • +9

Just got told not to buy anymore noodles. Where should I hide my 10 packs that's gonna arrive today? Any ideas?

  • +1

My ramen came with an extra flavour packet lol

Grabbed one too. Anyone got a low cost hack to for the noodles ie. a boiled egg, corn kernels?

    • +3

      Carrots are cheap

    • +1

Crab stick, friend onion, shallot, dried seaweed sheet

    • +2

I add spinach leaves, julienne carrot, jalapeno slices, sliced mushroom after flavour is added. Let sit for another 3-4 minutes then tuck in.

    • +2

My go to is adding a combination of frozen pork balls, fish tofu, broccoli , tomato and topped with shallot, seaweed salad, dried sewers, seasame seeds etc.

Low cost - tomatoes are in season, tomatoes and egg for a quick noodle egg drop soup
No liquid - frozen peas, spinach, egg

    • Cook per packet, crack in an egg, add spring onions, peas, beans, carrots, corn etc. Once cooked, top with leftover roast chicken (thanks costco!) or we usually have frozen chicken tenders on hand.
Can add a tin of tuna, and even those tinned mini frankfurts (dont judge me, it's whatever we could get during those covid hoarding days - the memories are still fresssh) … very satisfying and fast to throw together for a lazy meal to use up a lot of leftovers!
Ps. Had my first everr ramen cancellation "due to a lack of availability"… sadness! Whoever got the ramen, enjoy each and every noodle guys hahah

  • It's incredible how we transitioned from posting Amazon Warehouse deals from all categories to mainly grocery and pantry items. Anyone gained weight recently?

        Trynna slim down my gut

Wait for some weight loss shakes to go on sale. Then buy a blender bottle to go with it.

          • @warmfruit: Yup definitely due for a new blender bottle combo too

I should add that my majority weight gain would probably be from fats food and UberEats offers I've gotten

        • Do you mean to say… you don't look like your profile pic?!

    • +4

I haven't been able to obtain enough items this month in order to gain weight.

My amazon prime expires today and I won't renew it until I can find stuff worth buying. The previous month I was able to find some decent bargains. I think I haven't been bothered to check the site as often. Either that or the items available aren't that appealing to me.

      • +1

Mine will expire end of month, and I might not renew as well as don't think I get enough value out of it. Having said that I may have withdrawal symptoms after having some good fun in the last 2-3 months trying to grab pantry/grocery items with you lot!

        • Mine expired last month and was waiting for good deals to pull me back in. The discount has been getting worse and worse. Items used to be discounted down to 80 or 90 percent but now only up to 50 percent.

      • Same, I don't monitor it anymore. Maybe every few days I see something good from the twitter bot and I buy it. My pantry is quite full too so I don't feel a need to buy anything

      • Yeah I feel the golden age of Warehouse deals might already be behind us. My local IGA sells short dated and dented stock a lot cheaper than Amazon does after they've decided to put their prices up. Warehouse went from a 30pk Coke for $5 to a 10pk of Diet Coke for $6 or a 6*200ml Fanta for $4.50.

        • Wish my IGA did that, they aren't really competitively priced against Aldi and Coles worth

Bought an expired mudcake from local IGA and it was still a few bucks after markdown

    • I ve gone from 72 to like 83

      • Ouch, feel you!

        • In the past i have also gone from 86 Kg to 65 Kg within 2 months

key to loosing weight is mind control, not eat, plus no sugary drinks

          • @USER DC: Do share! Mostly change in diet or exercise?

Edit: Saw you edited your comment after I replied 👍

            • +2

@Craze: Just diet, extreme diet change, Quite often would do long term fasting (24 hrs no eating was a usual norm, often it was around 35 hrs no eating about twice a week, occasionally even done 48-50 hrs).

Was totally fine, infact very healthy. I was eating good stuff on other times when eating, breaking fast with avocados slowly. No sugary drinks etc, no carby foods, HIGH FAT /KETO DIET.

And some LITTLE exercising too (just running). Was to hard to resist eating in first 20 hrs, after that is usually very easy. I was so good at resisting food that everyday almost I was offered some carby cookies etc. would always not eat it, so much free food i used to not eat.

              • @USER DC: Thanks for sharing! Do you find it hard to go cold Turkey and fast long hours and break fast 1-2 days later? I'm thinking there body would go into shock with the sudden changes, but with most things it's conditioning and having a fixed routine that helps I suppose.

I can do no sugary drinks (don't normally drink soft drinks anyway) but find fasting hard. Stomach would grumble too much/ too loudly and I'll have to eat something.

                • @Craze: Yeah first 20 hrs of fast are hardest, and my way to get around the feeling of hunger, was

                  1. mind control.
                  2. drinking black coffee/green tea (no sugar or milk)
                  3. drink apple cider vinegar.
                  4. do something to keep you busy that doesn't put your mind into thinking you're hungry (e.g. go to work)
                  5. Sleep

Although this worked for me, Cannot say it would work for ya. Especially not if you got health problems, may wanna talk to your doctor before changing so much. I used to get told so much from family and coworkers I'm an idiot doing all this BS unhealthy crap. I still believe It was very healthy for me that time. And the worst part is ofcourse breaking the fast. If you break it incorrectly, then you gonna have problems like diarrhea, constipation etc. AKA you gotta start eating slowly, and with breaks.
