          I had a pretty bad problem with my local.

          I suggest taking the little time to complete an online complaint. Though I have little faith in Pizza Hut management, and my experience has turned me away from being a customer, I still believe adding your number to the count means something, it can add to a chorus that will be heard. It helps others, and you can feel assured that businesses with poor service, or at least their management at a point in time, will eventually fail, regardless of how cost-cut their economies are.

            @muwu: The experience has definitely put me off Pizza Hut in the future. As much as I don't feel welcome at my local store now I probably won't bother with a complaint because I don't know how much of the cost of this promotion is borne by franchisees and how much is the head office, and they weren't outright hostile to me. I'll probably just go back to forgetting that they are still in business.

              Yeah, fair approach.

              Apparently the stores aren't franchisees. I got told they're run by local management employed by Pizza Hut. It was someone here that suggested the stores are likely redeeming the cost of the free vouchers from head office.

              If that's the case, I don't understand them covering much of the cost of the promotion. I've been really surprised to hear (and experience) the pushback by the stores.

              I've always had pretty substandard customer experiences with the cost-cutting pizza corporates, Domino's and Pizza Hut. Just the basics like attention, clear communication, politeness. This experience has been something else entirely. I already would go to an independent or more specialised/gourmet local joint if I wanted to really enjoy a good pizza or if I was in a couple or group, but still went to Dom/PH when there are crazy good deals or I just wanted something fast, cheap and nasty. This has taught me that it's not worth it in any circumstance. That price difference of getting a nice pizza at ~$15-25 is usually worth it just for quality alone (size/serving, fresh ingredients, stacked toppings, fresh), but it's easily worth it once you factor in the requisite customer service and avoiding the experience with the Dom/PH guys.

                Ofcos, as a part of their agreement they are to operate under the corporate guidelines..

            I sent in a complaint but it just got directed to the store and not HQ.

    I was getting a bit shy going to the same store every day collecting my free pizza so I went to a different store and oh dear…if that was the only pizza I ever had from this brand I would never have another one ever again. It was awful. Worse than awful. It ended up being wrapped up and put in the freezer for some future use. I'll find some more toppings at the supermarket and treat it as a base. That's pretty much all it was with one single piece of pepperoni per slice and where's the cheese. Even the pizza sauce was all dried up. The base was nice and crunchy but very little taste with lots of oil left on my fingers.

    I don't normally review these free things badly as I'm appreciative of the free pizza but in this case it gets 1 star.

      Yeah unfortunately it tends to be that way when they see the free pizza order come up. I guess its nice that at least some places still accept it though.

      I wonder if we went to the same 'side' store. The pizza was so bad and was so overcooked that I literally couldn't tell between the different pizzas lol! I hate wasting things but I am even strongly considering throwing it away. And yeah, it made me realise how some people can hate pizza hut with a passion. I would too if this was the only pizza I had from pizza hut.

      That's the problem with Pizza Hut, there is no consistency and many stores have a dingy/unhygienic vibe. The 3 stores near me are disgusting. I'm driving a bit further to go to a new store and the quality has been good and it has a much brighter/cleaner vibe, noticeably fresher ingredients and much better taste.
