I've had this setup for the last year or so.
The camera's 1080 is quite clear but the 2mp doesn't allow for much zoom to see details if there are more than few meters away from the camera. Same with the detections. Good detection if the subject is close but if the motion is more than 5 meters away, it's a hit-and-miss.
All in all I'm happy with the setup and looking to add more cameras.
I never manged to get the geofencing to work properly.
How much is the 2-4K resolution version of this camera setup
I was weighing up between this and the reolink Argus Pro 3 with solar panel. Ended up ordering Reolink as it appears to be superior on most fronts.
Below is a good video comparing similarly specced wireless cameras.
I would go with the 2c Pro instead, definitely worth the extra $100 or so
Any link to this? Doesn't seem to be available at Bunnings and when I do I search elsewhere it's more than $200 on top…!
GG commercial
Tried calling to sign up…waiting for ages..
Costco has a similar one if anybody is interested…
It has 3 x 2C + internal 2K cam for $575

EUFY, check out your router and see if you are ok with the DNS records
may be explain bit further
I like the idea of wireless cameras but not the idea of charging batteries. Is it very expensive to wired versions installed? I have a double storey, double brick home.
The idea for the eufy is for people who can’t be bothered to run power to the places where you want to mount the camera. These cameras, assuming that you have a moderate amount of detection and not constantly recording/watching, they can last up to 6 months on a single charge. There’s also a 12 month version with a larger battery.
You can technically constantly plug in the microusb port and you never have to charge these. Think about it as cameras with built in battery. I have 4 eufy cameras and a doorbell. Two of the ones advertised above for outdoor use as they are weatherproof, and I also have two for inside the house which are always connected to power. The indoor ones are much cheaper and higher resolution.
I also love the fact that your videos are not stored in the cloud and that you don’t have to subscribe to a cloud storage like the Arlo. Video recordings are stored in a microsd card on the base station.
Also think of these as a security detection camera rather than a constantly recording CCTV.
Appreciate your detailed thoughts. That's really what I want, to be alerted when there's something on the property or at the door etc, or if wifey hears a scary noise outside at night. Is there means to secure them so they can simply be taken off the mount & stolen?
Can be unmounted easily, but they do have an anti theft motion sensor that will set off an alarm on the camera and/or base station inside when the camera is bumped
@RambunctiousRog: Fair enough but that won't really help if I'm not home. These are about $300 each to replace, so I'll have to explore other options to securely mount the only one that will be within reach.
@Ham Dragon: From your research, did you find any ways to secure the cameras? I'm in the same boat, spent over 1 hour searching and couldn't find anything
I have eufy flood light cam & like its integration with alexa & keeping us informed whos on teh driveway & we can even stream the live feed to echo devices, reolink still can't do it, been waiting for that feature since long as I have quite a few reolink cams
Genuine question : how do you mount these (or any security cameras), for an almost permanent duration, onto an outdoor brick wall without drilling or screwing?
Also not alternative methods that include double sided outdoor tape, hooks/d rings, sliding vinyl hooks, velcro, those mounting strips, straps, zip ties, etc?
I'm interested in the cameras, mainly to notify me of deliveries, but I'm not able to drill or screw into the exterior wall or eaves. Ideally I'd like to relocate the cameras in the future so I'd prefer solutions that don't leave holes.
I had solar lights and i tried mounting tape, zip ties attached to hooks with take on thy back, double sided tape. However none of them worked, they all fell off within 2.5 days.
You're in luck with these Eufy 2C cameras - they have a regular camera 1/4" screw hole in them so you can mount them with typical camera tripods and mounts. I'm only renting and have used a number of these to mount the 2Cs around the house: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00CSMCPKQ
Unfortunately can't say the same for Eufy's battery doorbell however - I've tried numerous Command Strips, hooks and mounting systems to try and temporarily mount the doorbell and I've had absolutely no luck keeping it in place. I'm so close to buying a drill just for the purpose of permanently mounting this darn doorbell.
Thanks for the info, i appreciate the link:) I ordered 2.
Please let me know if you find a method to attach for your video doorbell without drilling/screwing (I'm in the same situation).
I get the convenience and for renters but anyone serious about security should avoid battery based systems because how poorly they perform when it comes to 24x7 recording.
It's not being sold as a 24/7 solution. Clearly is a motion-detected system rather than recording everything with no motion detection.
Not everyone (myself included) has the knowledge/skills to install those power over Ethernet security cameras, despite those cameras being significantly cheaper than the solar powered ones.
I don't know how to run/install the cables either and it seems too expensive overall, if you hire someone to install it for you (just my experience).
Same price on Amazon.
