    What’s a Hybrid bike?

    • The hybrid bike offers more versatility and comfort.

    • Battery and petrol powered.
Nah jokes, road + off road use.

      • More of a cross between road+touring than road+off road. Effectively a road frame+wheels+gear set mixed with touring handle bars (flat bars). You're more talking about a gravel bike, which is an road+off road hybrid (road frame+drop bars mixed with gravel wheels and a mountain bike gear set).

Halfway between a bike and garbage.

      • vgood

      • Only half way?

  • +1

    "Premium Shimano gears" :)

      Surely Dura Ace Di2????

      • +1

        di1 unfortunately

    • Yeah always a worry when they just say "Shimano".

  • Weight? Kogan usually give the weight, but not this time.

      it's cro-moly. it's going to be heavy

      • +1

My 1980s triple-butted cro-moly Japanese road bike begs to differ :-)

Is the Kogan really CrMo? That's a top grade of steel. More likely "high tensile".

Also this, Fortis 700C Urban Master Road Bike less hassle with no front derailer, however less gearing options too..

downside is it has "Power alloy clamp brakes" :)

    • "With rounded handlebars, you’ll sit in a position with minimum drag on a lightweight aluminium frame that cuts through the air like a knife."

    • nah, drop bars suck

    • Bike Shaped Object

Will be a good workout with a 1 x 7 and the rear looks pretty small. Hills might be a slog.

Good news, bike thieves won't bother you - costs marginally more than a good quality u-lock. Bad news is you're going to have your hands full keeping the rust etc away from what i am sure are very cheap components. If it's rideable in 3-5yrs you've vastly exceeded expectations.

Cheap rubbish sold at cheap prices is not a bargain.

A bargain is something worth buying, significantly discounted.

This bike is a piece of crap that will be ridden once, then sit unused then be thrown out.

    • Evidence would help? Why is it crap?

    • +1

Half the bikes bought in covid were ridden once and left. Hardly unusal

  • +2

Paid $199 last year thought it was a bargain.

Bike quality was ok to be honest, $89 you would get the value out of it.

Just be mindful they might charge you $65 for delivery though.

    • Are you still using it?

      • +1

Yea mate, still going fairly well. But I only ride maybe once a week with my kids in the park. Not on rough surface nor for long distance.

    Put it In the bin

  • Can this be converted to single speed ? Any ideas

    • +1

by the time you buy the parts for it you've probably bought this bike multiple times over.

if you made it 3 speed that is probably feasible, leave the front crankset as that's quite expensive to replace and just put a single speed cassette at the back, set you back around $30

  • Read the reviews……. lol!
