Said it before and I'll say it again. He's an idiot. The tablet does have Widevine L1 DRM and the issue is that Netflix are turds by only whitelisting certain devices, so that's no fault of Blackview. Netflix have not been responsive to Blackview. Somehow he gets told this but can't comprehend it. I doubt he ever used it again since his first review.

4G connectivity works fine on my unit. The issue is that people in some countries use different 4G bands to others so the tablet has little to no connection.

The charging issue is a design flaw. If you use a USB-C to USB-C PD charger it won't charge, but if you use a normal USB-A charger then it works fine.

      • If you watched the video, he was saying that on their website, they advertised that it had Widevine L1 support plus sim card support. This was not correct. However, on their Amazon listing, they changed the information, removing both Widevine support and sim card support.

His latest video shows they have corrected these issues - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqCZFV28tv8&ab_channel=EazyC…

Sounds like it could be a half-decent tablet

Except it is correct. The tablet does have Widevine L1 DRM. I just loaded DRM Info to confirm and it shows as Widevine L1. The issue is that Netflix has 3 requirements for devices to play in HD. Widevine L1 ✔️, approved CPU ✔️, Device whitelisted by Netflix ❌ - that's the issue. Netflix have not whitelisted the tablet so the content is in SD.

Good to see there was an update however.

Except he is an idiot American, not knowing American exceptionalism he's been all too familiar with.

Not everything is Netflix and not everyone uses American frequency band. Verizon SIM card would be completely unsupported.

Blackview may have been unclear and confused about the specification themselves. But their claim isn't inherently deceptive. It would have been fine in Asia-Pacific or European markets.

You can see from other people's reviews from 7 months ago well before his second video showing both Widevine L1 and 4G indeed worked, just not on Netflix and not in America
