How iCloud+ works
iCloud+ is Apple’s premium cloud subscription service. It gives you more storage for your photos, files and backups, as well as additional features including iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email and HomeKit Secure Video support.*

While other subscriptions can't be shared with an overseas account, iCloud+ can be shared with an overseas account via Family sharing

How to get access:

Follow the onscreen steps. In the mobile number section use your Australian mobile number (Very important to use a valid number or risk losing your ID). Choose country as Turkey. Then follow through the rest to create your ID. Login into Apple ID on a browser. Go to this link to enter a Turkish address to your Turkish Apple ID, select payment method as none and save.

  • Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > Your Name > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID

  • Buy TL iTunes gift cards (Make sure you only buy Turkish ones, only comes in 25 TRY and 50 TRY denominations) from TurGame > Choose currency as TL/TRY and pay with international transaction fee free card.

  • Redeem iTunes gift cards by going to App Store > Account (located at right top corner) > Redeem gift cards or code.

  • Sign up to iCloud+ via settings or by clicking on this link from an Apple device.

  • While logged in using Turkey ID start Family Sharing group and invite your AU account. Make sure you add iCloud+ to sharing with family.

  • Logout from Turkey Apple ID and login back with AU Apple ID.

  • Accept Family sharing request and enjoy iCloud+

(Australian iCloud+ monthly subscription costs: 50 GB: A$1.49, 200 GB: A$4.49, 2 TB: A$14.99)

  • works great! thanks :)

    • May I ask how did you verify your account when using the gift card as payment methods?

      • I'm not sure if this will be helpful to you, but I actually created a Turkish iCloud on a spare phone I have (with a different sim that I use for promos). My aus details (including the phone number) were enough to verify that icloud account for gift card payments!

I haven’t tried this but we may also be able to subscribe to Disney Plus using our Turkish Apple ID.

Download Disney Plus App using Turkish Apple ID. Switch VPN to Turkey. Subscribe via Disney Plus App. It should deduct gift card balance from your Turkish Apple ID. Pay for one year.

    • +1

Done it too work like a champ !

    • not working for me. on Turkish vpn and downloaded the disneyplus while on Turkish ID. Keeps showing 'something went wrong, please try again' when tapping the sign up now button in the d+ app

      • hehe, fixed! note: VPN actually not required, it screws up the d+ app. Thanks!

      • +2

Switch off VPN (you don’t need VPN to sign up), delete and reinstall app, restart phone and then try while logged in with Turkish in media and purchases

  • I have redeemed a 100 TL gift card in my Turkey Apple ID. But whenever I am trying to upgrade I am getting verification required. I have added a Turkey address all good there. Then I go to choose Payment Methoed as Apple ID which has a balance of 100 TL.

I am only getting an option to Redeem or Add Funds.
Please can anyone assist with this.

    • Did you add a mobile number to your ID?

  • Yes did add an AU number

    • Can you add a screenshot of error?

  • Here is a screenshot

    https://ibb.co/CmsdnxJ

    • I don’t see any error there? Just your payment method

      • Thank you, fixed it. There was no error on the payment profile, my number started with a 0xxxxxxxxxx, not sure why that caused an issue. But as soon as i removed the 0 it worked fine.

        • All good. Glad it worked for you

  • Is there any reason why signing up to a turkey family Apple Music subscription wouldn’t work after setting this up?

    • +1

No reason, as long as they all have a Turkish Apple ID and don’t try to sign in on same device as their primary AU Apple ID.

  • anyone know if it automatically cancels your individual storage plan when you use family shared storage?Whenever I try to 'manage storage' the only option is to 'stop using family storage'.

  • I’m facing some issue here…

AU organiser invite TR account success. Tr account has iCloud plus via turgame.

I sign up music in tr account and can share successful from tr point of view. But AU account can’t see the music sharing… is that normal?

So I use another phone and set up another TR account in an attempt to see if music is region lock. But this time, This new tr account is unable to join AU invite. Reason stated is wrong region. I tried every solution possible listed by every one and still have the same error.

    Any advice?

    • I sign up music in tr account and can share successful from tr point of view. But AU account can’t see the music sharing… is that normal?

      It’s in description

While other subscriptions can't be shared with an overseas account, iCloud+ can be shared with an overseas account via Family sharing

You can only family share iCloud plus and nothing else

      • Ok… so let’s forget about the tr Apple Music.

I’m curious to know why I can’t add the 2nd tr account into the AU family sharing? Is it because this 2nd tr does not have iCloud + activated beforehand?

I can’t really recall for my first tr account how I go about doing it.

  • Quick thought - if you use au account and invite tr in… you turn on purchase sharing and authorise the card to be use on the au account, will this make the iCloud plan to be paid via the card on the au account with tr prices? Hmmmm….

    • It will still ask you for Turkish payment method. I tried a couple of months ago.

      • Thanks. Just 1 more question, I sign up 50gb on tr acc to try it out. Now I’m ready to do the 2tb. If I were to upgrade now, how does it billing work?

Will they charge me 64.99 from today and pro rate the 6.49? Or will they just disregard my 6.49 and charge a brand new 64.99?

  • But your pro rate was on the au account cancelling the plan. I’m asking about the upgrade in tr acc

    • you will get prorata refund for the 50GB based on the days left, might even be a full refund if you used it only for a few days and the new plan will start from today.

    Got it thanks!

  • Dammit! Can’t get turgame payment to approve via my bank.

    • Sign up to Wise or Revolut. Use single use virtual card. Also, it’s safer than inputing your physical card details.

      • Thanks, I’ll give it a go.

        • With wise you will have to pay initial $10 to get a physical card first. Revolut is free.

      • thanks for the tip re. revolut and this post.
gosh, the turgame website might be reputable but I was on edge the whole time. payment via revolut seems to have gone through.
too bad revolute itself doesn't work with apple turkey.

        • +2

Apple uses the credit card country detection method and cards produced with Revolut all have Australian digits. So it doesn’t work.

          • @Pricebeat: Yup.

Side note, I wish I had a burner device to use my Turkish id on a 24/7 basis. Switching sucks. Seems to reset my HomeKit device settings as well as remove my bank cards from my wallet.

            • @KeplersLaws: What purposes are you switching your ID for?

              • @Pricebeat: redeeming gift cards, as I only topped up a smallish amount first time round. and (now also) want to setup the disneyplus too

                • @KeplersLaws: You don’t need to switch whole ID. Just logout of media and purchases under icloud and sign in with Turkish ID under media and purchases or use iTunes on desktop

                  • @Pricebeat: oh I see! so this is not my whole iPhone Apple ID (aka don't do the red 'sign out' all the way at the bottom) but instead only the Media and purchase ID - which I think is App Store, tv, music and iCloud… right?

  • +2

Thanks mate. Signed up for 2 TB plan.
From 15$ a month to 6$ a month. Decent savings.

  • Errr, if you have really important photos in the cloud…and they suspend your account…do you lose access or do they just change the price

  • Thanks for this, all worked. Question: I originally had a 200gb account which now that I am a family member of the 2tb plan, I cant go in and downgrade back to 5gb. Will I automatically be removed from my 200gb monthly subscription or do I need to manually do it?

    • +1

If a family member is already paying for their own iCloud+ plan, they can choose to switch to your plan or keep their own and still remain a part of the family. When they switch to the shared family plan, they will get a refund for the remainder of their personal plan. They can't keep their current plan and use the shared family plan at the same time.

Thanks for that and this original post.

    Whenever I click the link
Sign up to iCloud+ via settings or by clicking on this link(icq.icloud.com) from an Apple device.
It shows my primary apple ID storage upgrade options in AUD.

It does not show the TRA prices of the storage. So iCloud is still showing my primary IDs storage plan. And yes I have signed in media and subscription with the Turkish Apple ID.

What I am not doing right here?>

    • +1

Unfortunately iCloud isn’t linked to media and purchases so you will have to sign out the whole ID or try on desktop iTunes. I will try to edit post and clarify that

    • Same here.

I tried to sign out iCloud, but stuck on removing the iCloud data, even I restart iPhone again and again.

  • I was finally able to purchase the gift cards through Turgame - The payment method kept failing for some reason when I used the first open - GPAY but it went through once I selected PAYTR.

Just waiting for the codes to be delivered. I've also signed into the secondary device using the new account - Assuming I just have to add the codes to my App store account and then upgrade my icloud storage? No VPN etc is needed?

    • No VPN needed but you will gave sign out of iCloud if you are doing it on iPhone and that may remove your apple wallet cards etc

      • Thanks Pricebeat - I've already done that. Just waiting for my order to be finalised. It's been "Processing" for a few hours now.

  • Finally had my order processed. I’ve successfully redeemed the codes and upgraded the storage on my new Turkish account.

I have then invited the Turkish account to the existing family, which also worked. I’ve downgraded my existing iCloud+ subscription but will need to wait until the 18th for it to finish up - I assume that once this happens the storage from the Turkish account will be automatically shared

    • Each account will have to accept the iCloud plus family sharing and your AU iCloud plus will get refunded at pro rata rate.

      • Could you elaborate? I didn’t see any option to cancel the existing iCloud+ and get a refund.

To provide more info, I have an existing family share organised by my AU account - I’ve added the Turkey account to the existing family share. My AU account did have iCloud+ but I’ve downgraded that to the free tier and I got a message saying that my subscription would be updated at the next renewal date - 18/08/2022.

Once I go back to the free tier, how do I accept the storage from the Turkey account?

        • +1

Figured it out :) - thanks again

  • Is it better to have the TR account as a member or organiser of the family group?

    • TR Account as the organiser, that way you can still use your AU Apple ID with AU purchases and AU gift cards

      • Can the AU accounts still share music together?

  • hi guys, I can't upgrade TUR icloud to icloud+, it's stuck at 1GB and grey out.

  • Did this yesterday, worked a charm. Thanks!

  • Hi guys, need some advice which I couldn’t find reading all the posts here.
I have created TR account and set it up as organiser, removed my existing family members from my AU account, and added everyone to the TR account including my AU account, upgraded to 2Tb cloud plus.
Now when I want to activate family share for purchase from my Au account , it asks me to request the organiser to activate the family share . So I went to the Tr account to activate the family share for purchases, it asks me to add credit card details otherwise it will not go forward.

When I try to add my Au credit card details, it does not accept!
I have many app purchases and subscriptions with my Au account which I am unable to share now to the family group as I am not the organiser. The organiser Tr account can not activate family share feature without a credit card, and it doesn’t accept any of credit card.

    How to resolve this issue?

  • Hi,

was wondering if any one has ther smae issue. Paid turgame using revolut, payment gone through however status of the order is stuck at processing? Been a few hours where it should be immediate?

  • Apple One inclusions can't be shared with overseas family members, can it?

    • Only iCloud plus. Nothing else can be shared

  • I’m simply wanting access to US iTunes to buy songs not available in the AU Store.

I have access to a second iPhone and second AU SIM (not associated with my primary Apple account)

I’m not wanting to link or share accounts, just download the AIFF files and save to USB.

    Can someone suggest steps?

  • OMG how have I never seen this until now! Followed all the OP steps and done!
Working like a charm. I already had a Turkish apple ID from the PS+ hack so just used the same one.

    Cheers OP!

    • Can you link me that one?

  • does anyone has this up and running? Would love to be part of your family :)

  • Followed steps and had a few hiccups along the way but now working well!

    Good savings!

    • When I try and upgrade iCloud+ it asks me to input a method .. did you come Across this?

      • Yeah, I initially chose 'none' on computer browser but when I went through app store on phone, it kept telling me to put in a payment method.

        • you can try restarting phone (didn't work for me)
        • I signed out of main account & media on phone then logged in with the turkey account (this ended up fixing the payment method)
        • Sorry, can you explain your second point a bit more?

I’ve already signed out of my main account and I’m logged into the new Turkish iCloud account on my iPhone but it keeps asking to verify payment method even tho if I’ve added the gift cards to my account

          • @Harby7:

it keeps asking to verify payment method even tho if I’ve added the gift cards to my account

Have you tried restarting the phone? I had a problem where even though I was signed in with Turkey profile, it was displaying AUD on icloud+

For the verify payment options, I remember it asks for the credit card (which has to be turkish, I tried entering a AUD debit card and didn't work) or the +90 mobile option. I think I just kept refreshing as in going back and forth on the payment screen - sorry, it's hard to explain.

            • @impostor: All good, I re-did step 1 in terms of selecting None payment method and it worked

              Thanks for your help

  • When I click the accept using my mobile after adding the shared ID, it said different location.

The family must be in same location.

    • I had the same issue but after mucking around with it, eventually it worked

      • How you mucking until it work, can share?

        • Not too sure, I’m not sure what I did as it’s been a very long time but it worked. See below comment also

  • I tried a few times it keep telling me different regions.

After like 1 wk+, my AU Apple account suddenly show me add to family and I just accepted.

Now I have my Turkey price Apple Cloud+.

  • Finally got around to setting this up. Few things I noted that were different for me (or possibly have changed since the deal was posted).

    1. I wasn't able to pay for the iTunes gift cards from Turgame with Turkish Lira, it only had the option of paying with Euros; but still worked out to be ~$5.50 a month for 2TB.
    2. When I tried to upgrade the iCloud storage on my Turkish AppleID it was inisting I enter a payment method (i.e credit card details) even though I had already redeemed the iTunes gift cards so had plenty of funds in my iTunes account to cover the payment. The way I got around this was to do the iCloud upgrade on my MacBook rather than on my iPhone.
    3. I didn't have to set up a new family group. I simply invited the Turkish AppleID to my existing family group and then sent invites from my Turkish AppleID to share just the iCloud storage. When I accepted those invitations on the Australian AppleIDs it asked me if I wanted to cancel my existing iCloud subscription, which I did.

Now it's all working I can buy more Turkish iTunes gift cards. How many months worth are people buying at a time? I guess there's a risk you'll be stuck with them if Apple shuts down this hack.

    • The saving is around 9$ a month using this method. I bought 6 months and this is my 3rd month. So saving is already around 27$.

  • +1

For anyone that haven't been able to add TR account to your existing AU family sharing account. Try sending the invite via AirDrop.

You'll need two Apple devices, eg iPhone signed in using AU account and Mac signed in using TR account.
On your iPhone select to add family member and send invite via AirDrop. This will open a Mac system menu to confirm you wand to join the existing AU family.

  • Why is this marked as expired?

  • Could somebody please help in understanding 25 TRY gift card pricing, I'm seeing it as 1,27 EUR which is 198 AUD.

    • +1

They use , instead of .

      So it’s 1.27 EUR

      • Thanks @Pricebeat
