Yes it can but will only last about 3mins for a standard radiator heater
Why?
I assume they are talking about using it as a storage device for solar panels as opposed to feeding it back into the grid. The battery on this is tiny though and is no where near big enough to get any benefit whatsoever doing this.
This would theoretically last 60 seconds with a 2400W heater, but also won't have the capacity for it either, max of 360W
anyone have one of these? wondering whats the noise (if any) like? Looking for one to hook up me NBN black box and router to
Should be next to no noise from these.
You'll get a little bit of noise from the constant speed fan that could get annoying if you sleep nearby. It makes a bit more noise when running on battery from the inverter.
These don't have fans, they are vented and silent - I have a couple of these, including in the bedroom - covering things like modem, router, switches, CCTV setup etc. The only time there is noise is when they "kick in" and they have a bit of a whine while they're actually supplying power (which is pretty rare).
The only real complaint I have is they have cheap batteries inside that will only last a year or two, and they can get warm (which can also shorten the life of the battery). I only just replaced the batteries in mine a few weeks ago :)
What battery does it take?
@preddye: Something like this:
I had the model with fan and LCD screen, and the fan is quiet. I think it spins down completely most of the time.
The beeping alarm on the other hand, is crazy loud. I found it difficult to permanently disable the alarm. It seemed not to remember my alarm preference. I since upgraded to the Cyberpower pure sine wave model - the "pro" series, which does remember my alarm preference. I used to live at place with lots of long power outages, and the alarm was driving me crazy.
People new to UPS devices like these, might not know that they only keep your devices running for a short time. The idea is protection against short term power outages lasting maybe 20 minutes, maybe even 1 hour. Definitely not several hours.
Depending on the technology you have a UPS might not help you in a blackout
Almost every technology I'm familiar with it's useful. Not sure about fixed wireless and satellite though. If you've got prem and paid extra for the nbn ups that has 8 hours of power give or take and just needs power for the router but you can also power the ntd from this.
If hfc and fttn the nodes have battery banks for roughly 24 hours so the router just needs power from a ups.
Fttc you need to power the ncd and router off it.Editing cause forgot to say the hfc ntd needs to be powered by ups but that's what was mentioned in someone else's comment
Looks like the Value600EI and Value800EI do NOT have user replaceable batteries (according to the spec brochure on the site). You'd have to spend more for this feature.
Can this be used to store energy during day tjme and used for Heating during night time ? Like power bank
