Wonder if price will drop further on prime day

    • +4

I'm finding it hard to buy anything now with prime day so close.

      • Same, I'm looking to build a new PC but holding off until prime day sales. Hopefully it's worth it.

    • Hope so, been thinking of getting a 1 or 2tb mx500 but waiting to see what’ll happen

Oh no! I paid $74.60 3 week ago from Umart… I'm never going to financially recover from this.

    • skip coffee ☕ once and you're in the black again

        *without the black

well, extra $3.50 in your pocket should cheer you up

          plus compounded interest

will probably make you $150 richer by the time you're 65, so you can buy more eneloops for your hearing aid on OzBargain

      • Time travel hasn’t been invented yet, I don’t get the insistence of saying “several years ago this was a better price”

this is not your land or house, it shouldn't appreciates in value on inflation

          it's PC parts , heck! it's a storage components !

there wasn't even 1Tb nvme ssd existed back then

and here we are, paying more than 4 years ago , for the exact same piece of hardware

          it's like GTX 1050 Ti , again

          • @dcep: Everything is effected by the economy?! It’s also not like this was made in your neighbours shed it was made overseas

        • It's good to be aware of how bad we're being screwed by governments locking down global trade and printing an entirely new supply of money last year.

2.5" ssds have been the same price for seemingly forever now in contrast to nvme drives that are continuously falling. I don't see much point in 500gb mx500 considering the 1tb goes on sale for 110ish pretty frequently. If you just need a boot drive or something to spruce up an old laptop go for the bx500 instead.

    • I would expect these $20 cheaper than what they are being sold now. I bought around the same price point more than a year ago

nvme drives manufacturers seem to have more capacity and a lot of supply entering the market

      • Probably more demand as well. You only really need a 2.5 if your computer don't have enough nvme slots

Perfect price to grab a couple for my homelab, thanks!

  • Thanks grabbed one to replace an old laptop hdd which is dying.

    It says 62.95 for bx

you gotta change the seller to amazon

      • Whoops I didn't even notice when I purchased, probably because it was only 57.50 via the third party when I placed it. I'd cancel and re-order through Amazon but I'd rather have them by Wed for an extra dollar now, than the estimated 1-4 weeks via Amazon.

  • BX500 480 has 120 TBW it's very low. MX500 500 TBW is 180, it still not as good as the average level

    • If running Windows NTFS that's fine for home user. It's rated 120TBW doesn't mean it's going to die at 120TBW. Plenty of SSD drives get pushed to limits and still functions. In fact actual TBW can be 2-3x more than the rated numbers. Again which home user going to write 32GB everyday straight for 10 years?

If your a professional video worker then you would spend on professional grade flash storage. 980 Pro is on sale now they can go get them.

  • The MX 500gb was $67 a week ago on Shopping Express with free postage.

  • Which one of these would work better (if at all) for an Acer Nitro 5 I have?

  • Bx500 480GB is $45.72 now
