Think it's about time the postage cost's where investigated

    • i bought a ssd from a ebay user with a similiar shipping cost, they sent it in a like $3 prepaid envelope. glad i used a coupon but what a rip off.

I think the NVME version at $86 is a better buy https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Crucial-500GB-P1-SSD-M-2-PCIe-NV…

    • depending on the slot you have on the m/board. I only have a M2, not NVME though

Theoretically the MX500 will last longer since it uses TLC flash. The P1 on the other hand uses QLC flash which has much lower write endurance.
But in reality, it's very unlikely that an average user will wear out a QLC SSD.

      P1
Endurance: 100TB total bytes written. Approx. 54GB per day for 5 years.

      MX500
Endurance: 180TB total bytes written. Approx. 98GB per day for 5 years.

      • I dunno if anyone need that spezial fast speed, go mx500

        • Bold statement. I believe nvme ssds not only have higher write and read speeds (which are noticible btw with my desktop running sata3 and laptop nvme, the laptop is a bit snappier) but also lower latency.

@Vaiels: The general consensus is 1 nano second isn't noticeable to the human brain. I have a 970 evo nvme and would agree it isn't noticeable.

            • @Budju: I use mine as cache in a Synology Nas - it only supports NVME in its M2 slots - so irrespective of whether it needs the speed of NVME, I couldn't use SATA anyway.

      • The MX500 will have more consistent and better performance once it is close to full capacity.

  • paid $97 earlier this year. no issues yet.

postage for something lite is over the top

    • Yeah, but it's encouragement to buy eBay Plus.

"4x $15 is more than the cost of eBay Plus! I should pay for it and I'll be ahead in 4 purchases!"

And their marketing dep't may well be right - many deals I've seen are Plus exclusive so taking advantage of those mandates the subscription anyway.

      • cancelled it,not enough results

I would like the 2.5" version to be at this price too

Just get a 2.5” SATA adaptor for about $8…

      • That's an idea, but Black Friday sales are not that far away. Hopefully there will be some great specials then.

  • Dammit, just paid $94 last week
