SMS GLOBAL - Half Price SMS Purchases This Weekend Only (Expires 12/10/2008)

80
BOOST

Hi guys, I just got a SMS from SMS Global telling me about a promo code "BOOST", which doubles the credit your dollars usually buy. This deal runs until Midnight Sunday (12/10/2008) - How it works is it doubles the credits you normally get for the same price. So 200 credits for $20 is now 400 credits.

UPDATE:
My credit card drama is fixed, just got myself 400 credits for $20. Happy days :)

CONFIRMED:
Thanks to eug this deal definitely works for the public not just myself!

  • I use http://www.pennytel.com for my voip calls.. also enables me to send SMS' at 5cents each as well. Can send from on the web or from my phone using an application that I downloaded from their site.

    • +1 for SMS via PennyTel. 5 cent international SMS as well. It does have a little bit of lag but as I don't use other similar services so I have no idea whether the lag is common or not.

  • been using smsglobal for 2 months now and I've been impressed. instant delivery and good web interface.

  • Or u can use www.yakedi.com which isn't as reliable but gives you 10 free sms'es a day. 5c is still good if u have to pay and yakedi only lets u sms to Aus or NZ

  • Actually, I can vouch that smsglobal is better than PennyTel or even MNF. It's a premium service that

    • provides you with detailed report on your sms messages
    • allows you to control the customization of the sender ID, i.e. you can set your sender ID as texts instead of numeric number
    • is always instantly delivered.

IMHO, their service is even better than clickatell and easier to configure using third party applications. With this promotion, it's even cheaper! Two thumbs up from me. :)

Btw, I got the SMS too and I still have heaps of credits left.

  • Yeah I use Yakedi, whilst not as reliable like you said, it's free and I use the 10/day easily.
I am also a member with 160.com.au which costs 7.1c for 350 credits, it's not as good as SMS Global but generally works well.

If SMS Global is available for under 7.1c in future I'll stick with them and use Yakedi as the free alternative.

    • 160.com.au which costs 7.1c for 350 credits

Did you mean 350 credits @ 7.1 cents for each sms? I can't find any package on their website that gives you 350 credits for 7.1 cents. It's still pretty cheap if it's 7.1 cents per sms if it's a premium service.

I've never really purchased any credits from smsglobal since I've not used up my 225 free credits, but at this price, I can't resist to top up and save the credits. :)

  • Worked for me! I signed up for a new account and got 25 credits, then bought another 200 credits for $10, for a total of 225 credits.
That makes it 4.4c per SMS.

  • Thanks eug, good to know it works!
It's the best of the SMS web services I've used so far (note: I've not tried PennyTel yet but I have no personal reason to try them yet)

    • I second that. SMSglobal reliability is very good.I usually send SMSs to Indonesia and I can say 99% of the times, the delivery is instant.

  • I'm with pennytel too, but I don't think there's an Outlook plugin for it. Plus smsglobal have all those extra things like 2-way SMS, and email to SMS.

  • SMS Global have outgoing MMS too though I've never used it so I can't offer any feedback there.

Something interesting just occured here, my 400 credits just turned into 800! Billing history shows only 1 "successful" purchase so I'm not quite sure whats happened there, I've probably been double-billed, hopefully its a slip up and I just got 2.5c SMS's :D
