Purchase Entertainment Book (Single City) for $69.99 or Multi-City $119.99 & Receive Bonus $10 or $20 Wish eGift Card

50

I remember the good old days when entertainment books used to be popular and you could share/ trade coupons you don’t need, etc.
They have gone quiet in the past couple years, understandably.
But for a limited time only, if anyone is interested they are offering $10/ $20 wish gift cards for single city($69.99) or multi-city($119.99).
With no more restrictions like the last couple years, hope we can make the most of these entertainment books. Imho they atleast pay for themselves for sure, if not more. So enjoy!

BONUS eGift Card promotional period: 6:00pm 1st June 2022 - 11:59pm 30th June 2022 AEST.

  • A few weeks ago they offered $20 Big W gift card for the single city $69.99 option. Might be best to hold out for a better deal than this.

      I got this deal

Didn’t come immediately. Had to keep an eye out for a random email that got sent to my junk box. Keep your eyes open and follow up if it doesn’t come. Mine took weeks to arrive.

    • agreed! also waiting for a better deal as I got burnt last year.
but in all honesty, while the app and website have gone backwards by like 999,999 years, I'm still getting good value out of it.
Granted I have to hunt a bit harder but the app has gotten a tiny bit better from the first time it released.
Still atrocious, but I'm just favouriting the ones I'd visit to make it easier.

They've been spamming me for a while to take up this offer!

Anyone else found the entertainment book pretty much useless in Melbourne?

Tried to use back in 2020 the shops refused. Never again

      • I tried to use it, but Dan didn't let me go.

With inflation running red hot and restaurants raising prices, will the deals be honoured? Also, has the no of restaurants participating reduced?

    • +1

In Perth seemed a lot had closed or sold. New owner never honoured and ent book don't care

We picked up a multi city subscription for $70 at the end of the year. Have hardly used it and probably get 3or 4 promotional emails every week. Most importantly the app is next to useless - never seems to answer the question being asked and (at least the last time I looked) there’s no web interface (so can’t use a PC). Can’t see us renewing!

I used to buy them all the time in years gone past but then stopped when covid hit. Bought one again the E version last year and was dissapointed that almost ll the places I used to use it at no longer were part. Struggled to even break even during the 12 months

their app is hopeless. Complete trash. Can't search anything. If anything deters you from using the discounts.

And the number of restaurants participating have gone down drastically.

    • Couldn't agree more, their website was more useful a decade ago than the app currently is. It's so bad and there is so little in terms of participating venues that I won't be renewing with them again.

  • Does anyone know if memberships are transferrable? I want to visit Melba buffet at Langham Melbourne in Oct (from SA) - they have 25% off up to $45 in the app. So if i buy a Melbourne membership and then transfer it to a Victorian relative, would that work? Or is the better way to sign up with their details, log into the app until Oct?

Edit: all good, it seems i can share with up to 5 members apparently

Can I print them out on my dot matrix printer & pay with my Diners card? Or do the accept Bartercard?

  • It's pretty useless in term of the deal/rewards. Good for just the charity part. The app is gone worst in my experience too.

    • +1

they also tried to get rid of the charity component

now if you go direct you get these offers like gift cards, if you go through charities then you pay full price and "donate" the gift to the charity

its past it's heydeys, this app/company just needs to RIP

there are so many better deals/alternatives nowadays

      • Absolutely agree, I generally find better deals on Ozbargain then on Entertainment.

      • I still find it useful. I often combine EB with the Fork deals.

      • Any suggestions for alternatives? I currently use Groupon and eatclub mostly but always keen to try new methods, especially ones without any upfront costs like entertainment!

For anybody who hates the new app and has an Android with developer options enabled: download the old v9.0.2 APK, disable auto-updates for Entertainment Book in Google Play, and just use the old app.

  • Small Ideas gave us much better value than Entertainment Book… we used to have EB for years, but no more.

  • I don't think it is as good as before but if you can split it with someone from another state it is not too bad. I have saved $140 already with just 2 restaurant visits. Now I probably will forget to use it for 10 months then spend the last month frantically trying to get through a few vouchers. I got it when it had the $40 Her voucher which I can use at The Iconic.
