Disney Plus via Turkey: TRY₺349.90 Per Year (~A$30) (Update: No VPN Required)

Tried it myself and got it working.

The steps

* create a new google account on your mobile phone (this prevents the mobile number verification)
* add a new payment method on Google Pay using a Turkey address. (to be safe, inform your bank/cc provider so that they dont block your card.)
* install BlueStacks 5.0 on PC.
* activate VPN - Turkey location.
* launch Play Store app and sign in using your new Turkish google account.
* install Disney+ app and create a new account.
* pay using Google Pay

no vpn required.


Thanks to fishbomb's comment I was able to get this to work without even needing a VPN.

  1. Create new Google account on phone
  2. Delete cache in Google Play Store (not sure if needed)
  3. Select new account in Google Play Store
  4. Add payment method and select Turkey as Country.
  5. Uninstall Disney+ if you have it installed.
  6. Open Google Chrome/browser on your phone in an incognito window. Set your window to desktop mode.
  7. Search Disney+ on Google Play store in your browser.
  8. Log in on new account and remote install Disney+ to your phone
  9. Open app on phone and pay in TRY.

        • Exactly the same thing happened to me, I got an email from Google pay asking me to verify my bank card provided with further ID with address (in Turkey)

          • @pauloarg: Did you go through the verification process? Where you able to add those cards to other accounts without issue?

  • I am getting the error. "Purchase with Google Pay is not allowed in your country". Anyone has solution to this please? I tried Windscribe vpn as well but it didn't helped.

    When I open the app it show in TRY but when I click on it to pay it simply throws the above error.

    • had the same issue and just gave up. Tried every VPN Nord, wind scribe etc with different credit card using a turkey address with no luck

    • People throughout the 9 pages of comments here have a lot of good suggestions. I spent many hours, creating multiple new Google accounts, with several different credit cards and different VPNs, but all I managed to achieve was getting two credit cards banned from Google & a call from the AMEX fraud department.

      The Apple/IOS method took 5 mins and I succeeded first go. Good luck.

    • had the same problem, however did buy a very cheap game in play store with vpn on, then switch off vpn immediately upon paying for disney plus. somehow it works.

  • I don't have any apple device, tried many ways but all failed at the end with android.

    @superfriends I bought it using gamsgo.com came out at AUD 38.70 after getting a 5% discount promo code online.

    May be $8 costly than this, but it works so its fine.

    I just got the message "we've noticed you're travelling" when logging in via a web browser. Feels like code for "we know you're not in Turkey and can't wait to boot you from the service you cheapskate" ;)

  • Hello guys! I'm trying for around 2 weeks (!!!) and still I get the same 'transaction can't be completed' message in the final step! I tried with and without VPN and a buncha other different ways but I always get this message in the end. I tried 2-3 different banks but nothing seems to work, even tho there are still people from my country that succeed. I contacted google support and they send me an email to verify my card via ID photo and card photo. I really dont think its necessary to give that information. I tried purchasing a game for 2TR, still wont work. Even tho I verified my cards via mobile banking codes, playstore just wont let me make a purchase. Do I have to wait or something, so they would be reviewed by Google? Ofcourse there is mismatch between my cards, my country and the one (Turkey) that I claim in the payment method, but I guess everyone had that but plenty still succeeded. Im pretty desperate and its now became an obsession, so please, does anyone have any idea what am I missing here? Thanks in advance!!

    • Some who have not succeeded with the Android method have had better luck with the Apple method. I myself have used the apple method. A lot more straight forward.

        I estimate the hours I struggled with the android method, cost upwards of two years Australian subscription :)

        apple method was a lot easier
        biggest wait was to get the gift cards- approx one hour

        • Another option with the Apple method is to use eneba to buy the Turkish iTunes cards. Slightly more expensive but instant delivery.

            • @docians: I think the hours we all spent for the android method, can pay for eternal Disney+ subscription! Apple method is pretty straightforward, too bad I havent an iphone and my ipad is old (ios 9, doesn't support the app) I guess with Apple it doesnt matter if you BUY the giftcards from another country than turkey (ie doesnt have to be turkish eneba) I searched about google play turkish gift cards and many people couldnt redeem them even on their turkish account cuz ''they havent purchased them from the same country''. Uggghh with all these things, I realised what a PITA google is, but I guess I gotta find a way to make it work.

  • My Turkish subscription has suddenly cancelled and needs to be renewed. Was due to expire 19 June 2023.

    Has this happened to any one else ?

  • Sounds like i lost the $30 for a month and 2 weeks of disney. Would've been cheaper to get the aussie subscription. And much less time and effort.

    I guess it's in their T and C's to cancel it.

      Netflix won't cancel your sub. No one has ever had theirs cancelled

    ‘We’re sad to see you leave

    We’re sorry to hear you cancelled your subscription. We value your feedback and would love to hear from you. ‘

    But I never canceled it.

    • Hi @winsonian, I just noticed the google account I created for this has been suspended by Google, however the DisneyPlus account still works. Did you managed to get what Google policy it violated? Did you manage to get your account back?

      • I asked support to unban me (basically just said that I needed the account to manage my Disney plus) and they somehow unbanned me!

  • For people who were cancelled was it a new Google account that you used?

    • I used a brand new Google account. After paying for 1 year subscription using Google Play I then removed payment details from my account and then deleted the Google account. It worked for a while but now when I log into Disney+ it says my account has expired. Ah well, I will try again using the Apple method.

    I subscribed via turkey (apple method)

    Been working for more than a week..

    Then today, when i launched the app, almost all contents are gone.. except for a handful of cartoons…

    Any idea what is going on?

      • No mate. For some reason, it looks like i need to use a VPN to watch - which was not the case before..

        When i signed up before, i could watch and cast it on the TV witout an issue.. no VPN required..

        But now, i am only able to see the contents via VPN…

        This would be an issue, as i always cast from my phone to TV.. not sure what the workaround is.. :(

          Try uninstalling and reinstalling the App see if that helps

              • @Saiya: Yeah tried mutltiple devices, but still going back to limited contents..

                But i have managed to makebit work via google TV - i installed Nord VPN on it..it's just that i only have 1 option to watch disney now..

                But it is weird, as it was ok on most other users to watch without a VPN..

                  EDIT - NEVERMIND FOR SOME REASON THE AGE RATING HAD BEEN CHANGED ON MY PROFILE. EASY FIX JUST CHANGE IT BACK TO 18+

  • Keen to get feedback from someone who has tried this recently. I was all ready to pull the trigger and then saw the recent reports of people getting their subscriptions cancelled. Is it still working? I would be using the Apple method.

    • Apple method is like the best method. Still going strong

    • It seems the issues and account cancellations are related to Google, not Disney. So the Apple method, which doesn't need VPNs or CC payment methods, is the way to go. Mine is still going strong.

Through various attempts I purchased 400TL in Google Play credit which I have not been able to use as I'm not located in Turkey.       • I tried multiple times on Android device. Can see app opend with TYR 349.99 but when I select to sign up and pay it gives me an error saying payment not available in your country.

      • No I paid for gift cards with Revolut. You can’t add a payment method unless it’s from turkey.

  • if I simply had someone from Turkey to open an account using my valid but not necessarily Turkey origin email address, and pay for 1 year using my Australian credit card, can I then use it from Australia? is there any geo-restrictions? and is the content same? lastly how would googo home or google tv would login to Turkey disney not australia

  • How long does it take for the codes to arrive from turgame? Paid half an hour ago, got email confirmation of order, payment also taken from card but no codes yet, getting a bit worried.

  • Just tried the Android method, and google would reset payment method as soon as I select Turkey.
    However, when I tried the 28 degrees card, everything went through fine.
    Purchased 1 year Turkish sub without any issues.
    Here's hoping it doesn't get cancelled.

    • Havent seen any reflection on AU pricing, but if it increases by as much it will be a pretty expensive streaming service with a 30+% price bump

    • Yep, just buy some more apple credit in the same way and add to your account.
      With the way the TRL is going, and apple prices are going, who knows what the value will be in a years time :)

      Solution was to make sure i use a VPN when watching (i am using google TV)

      Not sure why, as a lot of people here say that they don't have to use a VPN…

      • So, you have to connect your VPN to Turkey to get full video library?

        • Try uninstalling the disney app, and reinstall from your Aus google account in play store
          I have this problem on my phone app before and it seems that it relates to the play store region of your google account

        • Yeah have to do it, luckily have a VPN installed on my google TV.

    • I just opened Disney on my smart TV and yes very limited shows!

      It was the same only phone app until I turned off my VPN.

      Now need to find a solution for the TV.

        • This was in response to zeffman and other users who have reported having limited content on their accounts. On phone, it does seem an easy fix but there doesn't seem to be any clear solutions for Android/smart TVs.
