If you’re chasing points Citibank premier card is $175 for first year with 80k points but need to spend $4k in three months and I think earn at least $75k per year

    • which used to be 100k for the same fee just about a month or so ago

    • Was 100k. They also refund a large chunk of the fee. I got $160 back after 2 months of meeting spend and getting points - hit them up on live chat.

      • Used to only be NAB who did fee refunds, but now they have bought Citi maybe they've applied the same policy across to Citi ?

    • Does Citi do the typical "can't apply if you've held a card in the past 12 months" thing? I can't see it in their terms and just closed both a NAB and Suncorp card.

  • Probably OK if you are out of cards to churn - but compare to St George Platinum which is $0 fee (exisiting customers, just open a free savings account online) for 60k points.
This one isn't great value unless they refund fee on a quick churn? Also no Google Pay. Yuk.

    • How? What?
Do you have link for this offer?

    • Where do you see 60k for new savings account? Interested as existing customer through BOM but can’t find details on stgeorge website.

I think what he means is that 60k on a new CC with no first year fee is only for existing customers. So just open a new savings account to become a customer and then apply for CC.
@Tock any link for more details?

        • Thanks. Usually means existing cc holders with any of the st George group (bom etc) not eligible.

Otherwise would be good Good deal but I imagine it’s $0 if you have a home loan & transaction account.

    • Sorry for my poor wording, hadn't finished my first coffee - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/704674

Professional churners here, gave up on St George half way through application process, they wanted so much detail including months of full bank statements because they didn't understand a basic payslip. Might try again in a few months but it was seriously painful.

      • i didn't want to send my payslips with all the details within.
i opted for bank statement ( where only salary goes in and immediately gets transferred out elsewhere)
even sent the Notice of Assessment.
idiots asked for a tax return.

        • Yeah I've since moved my pay into a deposit account that has no other transactions, just salary in and salary immediately out.
Makes future applications even smoother so it was a blessing in disguise

Pro-rata annual fee refund on this one?

    • +1

      Unfortunately i dont think so

    • +2

Turns out they do. Just called them up and I am getting a pro-rata refund.

      • Very nice. Makes sense because they are done by NAB who does pro ratas.

Did you have to ask for anything special or did you just ask them flat out for a refund on the annual fee

  • Bonus Qantas Points not available if you’ve held a Qantas Premier credit card in the last 12 months.

  • +3

Pro-rata refund available via telephone closure

    • Thanks, great to know.

    • How long did it take for them to pay you the points. I read the fine print and it says they are paid within six to eight weeks of meeting the minimum spend criteria.

Bonus points received on the first statement.

        • Very nice, thank you for the update - they give you pro rata refund i hope..
