    • Thanks for the upvote legend!

For Thailand you can use our South East Asia SIM

Let me know if you have any questions about it!

      -Aidan

  • Didn't get to use my sim cards in Japan from 2020 but that's how it goes, happy you guys are still around! Was great when i used them for previous trips and have no doubt they'll be good going forward!

    • Thanks for the kind words happy ❀️

Reach out if you need anything from us!

      -Aidan

  • For the U.S data only plans, is the data unlimited ( at reduced speeds) after you've used the high speed data ?

    • Hey bingo,

Yes, most US unlimited SIMs have a fair usage policy (a certain amount of GB at high speed - that then gets throttled down once used).

      -Aidan

  • Would the Europe and UK 12gb sim be enough for 2.5ish weeks in England, France, Italy and Switzerland for maps/public transport/social use?

    • Definitely should be fine as long as you are watching your 'social use'. I've done similar trip lengths for <500mb in the years past…

    • +1

Definitely enough data for that type of usage.

Videos, Social Media and App updates are what will chew your data. Be sure to watch your usage if you plan on doing any of those activities.

      -Aidan

  • Hey Aiden,

    In regards to the 'Global - Explorer | 71 Countries | Data-Only | 12GB | 365 Days'

    1) Will it work in a normal mobile (not tablet) for just data use only (i.e. Web Browsing, Google Maps, WhatsApp etc.)?

    2) Do you have a '71 Countries | Data-Only | 365 Days' that can be 'recharged'?

    • Hey Andy!

      1) Yes!

      2) No, all of these SIMs cannot be recharged UNLESS you are in the UK and can get a physical recharge voucher from a ThreeUK store OR you have a UK credit card to purchase online.

      -Aidan

  • Used it once 2 years ago and just bought another for this year! Thanks!

    • Thanks for the order and upvote Jason!! πŸ”₯

      -Aidan

  • Thanks OP :)

I will be traveling to US (Boston) for a week on business trip in mid-July and then a week holiday in London (UK) to visit family. So I am looking for Sim card for like 14-16days.

    What are my best options?

    • No worries bluespider!

Depends on how much data you need.

      I would go:

      1x USA 5GB SIM
      1x Europe 12GB SIM

If you don't need calls and texts then you can just buy 1 Europe SIM and use the data in the US (it is much less coverage than a US SIM though, so keep that in mind).
If you need more data for the US, you can go the 15GB option.

Let me know if you have any further questions! πŸ‘

  • Perfect timing! Cheers Aiden

    • Thanks CheapCoffee ❀️

  • Shout out to these guys. Been using their Europe sim for years for tips to UK + Europe and works great (especially with a stopover in Singapore where it also works). Good reception.

Wish you didn't have to nominate an activation date at purchase now, but hey ho. Just means I don't stock up on them.

    • Hey Guybrush!

Thanks so much for the positive shout out 😌

Unfortunately, the old plug-and-play (no activation date needed) UK SIMs have been discontinued and we have had to move over to a new system to keep offering the same SIM bundle from ThreeUK.

      -Aidan

  • US 15gb sim ordered. Hope business starts to take off again for you and your team. Looking forward to Christmas deals later in the year. Cheers.

    • Hey @nonpop

Thanks for being a legend and buying a SIM πŸ”₯

Things are starting to take off again with travel opening up. We've seen some steady growth again which is nice after 2 years of biting our nails 😬

Let me know if you need anything!

      -Aidan

  • I am going to Singapore and South Korea for 2 weeks in total, can I buy one South East Asia sim card and use it for both countries?

    • Hey @stephiie52

Yes you can use the same SIM for both countries!

      -Aidan

  • "Hotspot/tethering enabled in Europe only"

This kills the explorer Sim for me. If I'm travelling with my partner generally one of us gets a sim and the other just connects to their phone and shares the data

    • +1

      Hey @TThomas

Yeah unfortunately this was implemented because of a data fraud incident with ThreeUK (other countries stealing their data using tethering).

So there are restrictions on the SIM for non-EU countries.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan,

Thanks for another great deal! I’m off to the states on Friday, and have ordered the 6GB US SIM about 30 mins ago.

Do you think it will be delivered by then, or should I cancel and change to express shipping?

    TIA

    • Hey @Sharyingh

Message customer service with your order number and have your order cancelled and place a new order.

Express shipping would be much safer as we will be prioritising them.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aiden, I hope to see Sim2fly esim in your store. It is very easy and affordable. In 2019 my friend bought me 4gb/10 days Asia/Australia Sim2fly physical SIM only cost around $15-20 AUD.

    • Hey @gstfree

I think we will eventually have that up for offer!

      It is a great product.

      -Aidan

  • When looking at purchasing two sims for travel in Europe/UK 2023 the MULTISIM10 code for additional 10% off would not apply.

    • Hey garrulous,

      Discounts are not stackable, unfortunately.

      -Aidan

  • Hey Aiden

I am planning to go to Greece/Germany on August can i choose the network in Greece or is a specific one?
For 2 months i need 2 cards and if yes when i put the second card that means i change number again?
For the locals to call me on the number what country code they use and what is the rates for them?

    Thanks mate

    • Hey @Gentlesos

You can switch networks using your network settings on your device.

Yes, when you swap over for the second month, you will be changing numbers.

The country code for someone to call you is UK (+44) and they will be charged rates to the UK.

      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aidan
        i have oder 4 cards

        • πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ™

  • Thanks Aidan- I'll be buying 2 12GB plans for my family that are travelling in Europe for exactly 30 days (nice coincidence!), though I'll likely be travelling slightly longer (maybe around 45 days).

What is the most efficient / easiest way for me to get coverage for 45 days?

    Cheers!

    • Hey @bigBoiMike!

I'd probably still recommend getting the 12GB SIM that lasts for 30 days.

Since you're going for 45 days, just grab 2 SIMs and swap them out as required.

This way you get more data (24GB) across the 45 days so you can browse the web to your heart's desire 😊

  • Hi Aidan,

I purchased the 'New Zealand 30 Day Travel SIM Card' back in Nov 2019 for a trip to NZ in Feb 2020 that never eventuated.

Would the SIM Card still be valid? I plan on going to NZ in August this year and would like to use the SIM card I bought in Nov 2019 if possible.

    Thanks!

    • Hey tryonthis!

Yep, that's totally cool to use for your trip in August as the NZ SIMs don't have expiry dates.

When you land, just activate as normal so it should be good to go!

  • Bezos hasn't tried suing over the logo yet? hehe

    • Not yet! Fingers crossed ;)

  • Hi Aiden, what is needed for Norfolk Island Plse? Does a normal Aus sim work?

    • Hey @anna10!

We don't have any SIMs for Norfolk Island, unfortunately.

The island is not part of the Australian mobile network, so you will need to purchase a local SIM card to use your mobile phone.

Global roaming is also available for some Aussie telco providers so it's best to check with your provider before going 😊

  • I used these guys for my 2019 US trip and it was effortless. I'm glad to see you weathered the storm and are back with bargains.

    • Appreciate the support @Hinee! So glad to be back πŸ™Œ

  • Aidan, the second SIM card in your list (12GB data with unlimited SMS and minutes in EU) is described as a EU/UK sim, but it then says it works in 71 countries including places like Siingapore, Vietnam, USA etc.

Can you explain what I'm missing here? It is just the telephony element which works in EU, and the data will work elsewhere too?

    • I'd like to know this too. Heading to Vietnam for more than 15 days so I'd rather buy this one card than two of the Asia ones. Also, this can receive calls/ messages in Vietnam? If so, could use for 'Grab' taxi service where the Data-only SIMs have issues with them.

      • Hey @tomclancy

The SIM will be able to receive calls and texts but it will be a UK number they will be calling. So international rates will apply to the caller.

You will also not be able to return any calls or texts.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

        -Aidan

        • πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Thanks for confirming, Aidan

    • +1

      Hey @Charlie Dont Surf

That is correct. The calls and texts are EU/UK only, however the data will work in all 71 countries.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Rep!

Are the US sim cards fully compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S22+?

The official sim site doesn't appear to have the S21 or S22 on it's list yet.

    Thank you!

    Keen to purchase ASAP.

    • +1

      Hey @ssjmark

Yes, the US SIMs will work with that device.

Any modern device will be perfectly fine.

      -Aidan

  • Any deals on sim card for Korea?

    • Hi @hiaaron

You can choose either the South East Asia SIM

      Or the Asia SIM

Let me know if you have any questions about them.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan,

I purchase a Sim before covid lockdown for Europe, order #51001. Unfortunately Covid hit so I had to cancel the travel plan. I didn't request refund for the Sim. Would you be able to swap it for a US Sim for my upcoming trip?

    Like this one https://simsdirect.com.au/collections/usa/products/usa-6gb-t…

    Thank you

    • +1

      Hi @lang_tu_syd

Go ahead and message customer service to have this sorted. We will need to have the old SIM returned before we can issue the credit for the new SIM.

      -Aidan

  • Hi there Aidan,
Used your Sims pre covid for Japan and was a happy customer.
Planning to go to South East Asia in Dec coming back early Jan. But on your site it says it must be activated by end of November :(
Does that mean I can't buy them as part of this deal?

    • Hey @supbah

We are working on getting those SIMs extended.

You can go ahead and purchase if you would like to, and just confirm with us that they have been extended closer to your trip.

      -Aidan

      • Thanks for the response Aidan, but it doesn't make me very confident.

What if they don't get extended, will I be stuck with Sims that are useless?
Not to mention I won't have anything ready for my trip.

Do you offer any guarantees (in writing) if I purchase now as part of this deal and the Sims are not able to be used?

        • Hey @supbah

          Sorry for not being clearer.

If the SIMs are not extended by 1 month before your travel dates you can return the SIMs for a full refund.

Screenshot this and send it to our customer service team via email and I guarantee it will be honoured.

          -Aidan

  • Europe sim purchased! Thank you for the deal - timing worked out perfectly for us. Happy return customer, had no problems with sims used in 2019/2020.

    • Thanks @cypresssky

Glad to hear we could help out! ❀️

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan,
I’m heading to US and Canada in August.
Will the US Canada option work seamlessly between both countries?
What about in the northern regions eg Alaska Inside Passage; Yukon; Northern British Columbia?
What are the options if my stay is more than 30 days?
    Thank you so much

    • Hey @bookworm9992001

Yes, the SIM will work seamlessly between countries :)

Alaska is not included in these SIM cards. You will need to find something locally when you get there.

The only option if you are staying for more than 30 days is to get 2 SIM cards and swap them out as you go.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

      -Aidan

  • Is there further discount for 2 Sims?

    • Hi @mick123

      Discount codes are not stackable.

The 25% off code for this sale is the biggest discount we offer.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan,

    For the ' Explorer - 71 Countries | Data-Only | 12GB | 365 Days'

    1) When I purchase, do I have to select an activation date or is it activated when I first use it?
    2) Does it have an expiry date prior to activation?

    • Hey @Andy99

      1) You do not need an activation date for this product. Just plug and play.

      2) No it does not.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aiden, looking at the US sim - we are headed there later this year in Dec. Just wanted to confirm that it will work on the US mainland as well as Hawaii. And that teethering (from my mobile) to other family member's devices is allowed.

    • +1

      Hey @zeppeybabey

Yes, the SIM will work in Hawaii and the tethering is enabled!

      -Aidan

  • Hi, for the US unlimited plan, what does the speed get throttled down to?

    • Hi @Xcorched

The speed will get reduced to 128kbps after the 40GB of 5G/4G gets used up.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan, sent you a PM earlier today. Hoping you can get back to me. Thanks

    • Hi @piersdeal

Sorry for the late reply, we've been busy shipping out orders.

      I've replied to your DM!

      -Aidan

  • How's this compare to Simscorner in terms of speed for Europe (I'm going to UK, Greece, Spain, Netherland and Italy in September). I think SimCorner also has 30% off.

    • +1

      Hey @Danzer

We both use the same Telco supplier (ThreeUK) so the speeds will be the exact same.

Simcorner put up their 30% discount after we announced our deal (they have a history of doing this) to compete on price. It's up to you to decide on whether you would like to buy from Simcorner or join the SimsDirect family πŸ˜‰

Let me know if you have any further questions.

      -Aidan

  • Thanks OP!
Purchased from you last year for our trip home to NZ and just picked up another couple of SIM's for another trip later in December.
    Keep up the good work!

    • Hey @Super Saiyan

Welcome back and thanks for the support ❀️

      -Aidan

  • Hi rep. My partner and I are traveling to Turkey for an 11 day tour and then Greece for another 11 days. What is your recommendation to best cover both of those countries in a seamless and affordable manner?

Would prefer not to juggle two SIMs each if possible, but if it's going to be a fair bit cheaper I can live with it. :)

  • Hi rep, can you please check inbox please. Ordered on Monday with Express Delivery but tracking number is not valid !

  • Hi rep,
I ordered few days ago and have not received any confirmation. Is there a delay in processing them?
How long would it take to be shipped as well?
    thanks

  • Hi Aidan,

Just checking if there are any current deals happening. would love to get a pair of NZ sim cards.
