Great price for an amazing TV. From what I've read there isn't much of an improvement to the C2, so get this while it lasts!

Nobody's going to have the 42" OLED before late Q3, and it looks like the 2022 OLED panels won't have 120Hz BFI either, so there's some factors to consider.

      • as much as I am against striping features, realistically, do we need BFI at 120hz?? the motion clarity would be amazing already at that frame rate.

        • This isn't like CRT or Plasma: there's no flicker to speak of to help with how the eyes and the brain are wired to track motion, so despite 1 ms response times, you're still stuck with sample-and-hold related issues as per LCD panels. It's an improvement, but you still get eye fatigue for fast motion content because of it.

120Hz BFI turns that into crisp motion at the expense of max brightness, which as of this year's panels is perfect for SDR gaming and live sports, at least on paper. I'm sure there's a technical or lifespan related issue that's seen them do this, but I expect to see it corrected in next year's models thanks to some panel transistor array changes in the industry that haven't seem to have made it into these designs.
