Is this an actual unit to use straightway on your bike’s and car’s tyres without needing anything furher?

    • +31

Only if you’ve got really strong lungs. Otherwise probably going to need an air compressor.

    • +1

I don't think so. From the image it looks like you need to attach it to an air compressor (not included)

    • I assume you've got an actual compressor as these are just accessories

    • Assuming that you know that you need a compressor, still no. It will work on car tyres and any bikes with car tyre valves, but if you have presta valves (the long thin bike tyre valve that you need to manually unscrew) you will need an adapter, and unfortunately because it has one of the spring-loaded attachments it doesn't work great with said adapters.

If you're looking to inflate bike tyres specifically, I recommend doing what I did, I got one of these and modifying the hose yourself, it's not hard, you just cut off the old connector end and push on the presta/schrader valve connector, and you're all good.

      • That's almost 1/3 the cost of a lithium powered inflator. Wouldn't it be more cost effective to just purchase a unit that supports both?

        • because the lithium powered inflators are notoriously bad at inflating bike tyres, particularly high-pressure road tyres. They also tend to have very low battery life, I bought a few and found that they will do at most one or two tyres at a time before needing a recharge. They also generally have a setup that uses a pressure gauge to stop and start them, and when you use a presta valve adapter, you don't get accurate pressure until you begin inflating because of the nature of the valve (they aren't spring loaded valves, after you undo the nut they use the pressure in the tyre to keep them closed, and only when you add pressure from the pump do they open.)

by all means, buy the cheap one if that's what you want, but if you have more than one bike, or inflate a lot of things, those lithium inflators are practically useless.

Ah damn! The title could be clearer! Glad that I did not buy it!

A track pump is what you want for bike/wheelbarrow or car tyre top-up.
Costs a bit more than this, but easier and no big compressor needed.

oh crap. i thought it was the inflator, but it is just the attachment. #attachment

please put attachment in the title, it would help a lot.
